  1. Giving the champions league players a games rest maybe?
  2. This time round there's only one season until the world cup so I think if he can get a good move in the summer he'll make it to the world cup
  3. Different. Defensively arguably not but in an attacking sense, definitely. He's certainly someone I would look to bring on if we were struggling to break a team down. Or if we were trying to see a game out bring him on instead of a winger so we have someone who can offer and attacking threat whilst also having a defensive mind. It's a 26 man squad this time round rather than 23. I think he is worthy of one of those three extra spots just cos he offers something a lot different to the others.
  4. I wouldn't begrudge lingard going but I think I agree that he won't leave a hole in the squad. Sounds like TAA could miss out which is a big call. I understand him not being first choice but to leave him out the squad is massive. He can offer something different than the others and he's got a he'll of a ball on him. Imagine Kane getting on the end of some of his crosses?
  5. Sterling's always involved in attacking play it just more often than not doesn't result in anything. Not the worst CL there's been but not a classic, some cracking trickles and blocks going in though. Warner is a frustrating player. I think he's so close to being a cracking player but fluffs his lines far too often
  6. For me Pickford Tripper Stones Maguire Shaw Mount Henderson Foden Sancho Kane Grealish Or if he's going 3 at the back Pickford James Maguire Coady TAA Chilwell Henderson Mount Foden Kane Grealish
  7. Agreed there, wouldn't have him starting in my england xi
  8. Just read that, part of the beauty of the world cup is that its a special event that only happens every 4 years. That goes if you make it more frequent. "I wish it could be Christmas every day" no you don't!
  9. Fair point. I remember reading an article last season which basically said you can't tell exactly when the ball is played. You can narrow it down to two frames and the ball was played at some point between the two frames. With frame rate of the cameras and say raheem sterling running at full speed the player could have moved just under 1.5 feet so to be analysing millimetres is pointless. Based on where the froze it I thought it was offside and I've seen tighter decisions given off on many occasions so although the rule is stupid, inconsistency in decisions is worse so don't think they couldn't have disallowed it.
  10. I called it offside from first replay. You could tell from the line at the edge of the box. The offside rule obviously needs altered but in its current state it was offside. I think that was the result every neutral wanted. I really like Leicester as a club. Premier league 5 years ago, FA Cup today. That puts them above Tottenham, level with arsenal (although I'd rank 2 fa cups lower) and just a europa league behind Chelsea. Cant think man utd have done much in that time? Big 6? Load of bollocks!
  11. I think that had I been prepared for a more subtle ending it would have been more satisfying but they'd bigged it up for an explosive OH MY GOD, big reavel ending.
  12. Man City loans haven't done us too bad, could carry on plucking from their academy
  13. Having slept on it for a couple of nights I'm coming round to that ending a bit more. I may rewatch and see what I think. I think the issue was that the audience wasn't prepared for a subtle ending as it had all been geared towards an explosive ending.
  14. Agree with you on that. They could have made last series the end and it would have gone down as one of the greatest series but they've pushed it one series too far. This series I thought was a bit predictable so I didn't get as invested in the cliff hanger moments. The Jo Davidson being related to someone was clearly Tommy hunter and the waiting to see who got shot it was obvious that someone had shot Ryan. I think also people got overly invested in the idea that there was one big person 'H' pulling the strings when it was stated so many times that it was a few rotten apples. People couldn't get 'H' out their head so the reveal was underwhelming.
  15. I was worried they'd pushed it a season too far. Season 5 would have been a good ending.
  16. Some kind fellow had obviously been in the bushes on a route I take quite often and dug out all the discarded poo bags. Too many for him to carry in one go so they were piled high on the side of the path when I went past whilst he did a couple of runs. I don't know why people have so little respect for their local area. I got caught out having forgot to grab a handful of poo bags before I left. I went back and cleared it up obviously but I felt bad leaving it for just the 10 mins whilst I ran back home.
  17. Of course this will be happening from a load of different angles. In some cases players will demand more in some cases clubs will give players bumper contracts without being asked. It's in no way all the players fault but they're not entirely blameless.
  18. I'm not against investment at all. But if you have e.g. man City paying players whatever they want, that drives everyone's wages up (look how much I could earn at City, pay me that or I'm off) and this affects everyone even those outside of the PL. Wasn't Tosin, a youth player on more than most of our squad? We had to pay that because the citys of the world have driven up wages. Clubs like us have had our wage bills driven up by a lot more than our revenues have risen. A wage cap won't work unless it's universal across the major leagues. There's no point putting a wage cap on league 2 if all the financial resource is in the PL. That just means better players are unaffordable for league 2 increasing the quality gap. Likewise it won't work if only the PL have a cap because all the talent will sod off to Spain/Germany/Italy etc. Nothing against people investing in club, just the wage inflation that comes with it. A salary cap wouldn't have stopped Jack buying the club, spending on players and investing in the training facilities etc.
  19. But you could argue that players demanding more and more money has in part driven the owners to look at new, drastic ways of bringing money in. Edit: guess my point is that greed is the underlying cause of this and many problems in football and its more than just the owners who have greed.
  20. I had no say in the running of rovers but had to sit through us being under a transfer embargo. Nope. Player wages have forced up the cost of running a club which has pushed them into forming a breakaway league. Also it creates huge wage inflation which the big clubs and the big revenues can afford but that inflation trickles down the whole football pyramid.
  21. Absolutely agree. Money to an extent improves football through the improvements to infrastructure, coaching etc but KDB will be just as good to watch on £100k as he would on £400k. Apart from being nice for him. It just puts the price up for fans in every way. Owners could maybe turn a profit if they have the same broadcast revenue but a fraction of the wage bill.
  22. Even supporters of the 6 clubs are fed up. I know a few fans of those clubs calling for points deduction / champions league ban.
  23. None of the excuses should be taken seriously. This isn't something they stumbled on by accident and made a genuine error or judgment in the heat of the moment. This is something they've been cooking up in secret for months. It's a 100+ page contract. It's been fully thought out, they just didn't anticipate this level of back lash. The fact they were doing it without supporter consultation says it all.
