  1. They brought another striker in instead - so not sure if that will happen now.
  2. Dont know anyone in their team apart from James Collins, Izzy Brown and Jacob Butterfield
  3. We can certainly say that we have some good depth now. Our bench looks good and thats even without the likes of Rothwell, Chapman, Nyambe, and Gladwin. Ok, threw the last one in for a bit of a joke.
  4. The team bonding session apparently ended at 8pm. So he could have turned up after to join these fruitloops.
  5. I think we wanted the other end of the pitch sorted tbh, people did get a little excited at the prospect of Assombalonga but most were more concerned with our strength and depth at the back (still are). We actually weakened by sending a CB out on loan and it kicked us in the butt.
  6. I think id take going up even if the players are not good enough to stay there, the 100 odd million the club would earn would be more than worth it. Dont do a Fulham and buy a whole new team, just invest wisely ala Burnley (hate saying it) so that your squad is good enough to come straight back up if relegated again.
  7. Hi, He has been saying promotion quite a lot already actually. Which is why it is odd that he has now lessened his pre-stated targets.
  8. And to send Downing out on loan when we were already short at the back - which backfired quite drastically. You could easily just copy and paste his comments at around this time last season and they would look identical. I would imagine that the lack of action in January will be quite identical too - though I hope not. Still need defensive additions namely CB and RB.
  9. Please refrain from the personal jibes like 'mental' as it just shows your age or lack of. They do have far more options - hence Lowe always being top of the OPTA stats despite being a very limited footballer. Also, we are not talking 'defenders' per se, We are talking FB's - CBs also have more options for a pass than FB's. I do not need to see your highlight reel either, seen them all before just as I have seen the countless times Benno gets skinned on a weekly basis. If I had the time i could quite easily put together one for Benno too. As for your last paragraph, there probably is statistical evidence out there for that. There are stats for everything these days. Just showing a few clips of Nyambe getting beat without conversely doing the same for Benno is once again very one-sided from you and in no way disproves anything.
  10. Not according to TM in the LT today. Wants top ten.
  11. “If we’re in the top half of the table and threatening the top six around Christmas and the new year I can hopefully go to the owners and ask for some more help and that last little push to try and push us ultimately to where we want to be. Its like groundhog day, we heard exactly the same last season and got to a position to challenge and didnt strengthen despite most of us knowing we would need it.
  12. No they are not as midfielders have far more options for a pass. They can go back, to both sides, forwards, to the wings. Its why a certain Lowe always had great stats without doing much apart from picking easy passes to the side. A FB is often isolated on his side of the pitch and either has to find a cb, gk, or try to be more positive to find the guy in front of him. Its not 'factual' evidence though. You are comparing apples with oranges in terms of statistics. As you said, only half of Bennos performances were at FB which means that 50% of those stats are skewed. That does not sound factual to me.
  13. For sure, would have been an ideal precedent for us to take advantage of if the worst ever happens for us.
  14. More than a slight issue. Passing stats for one, you are going to see far more of the ball in the middle of the pitch than at FB and you are going to have a higher number of attempted passes and a higher success rate. You have more options around you while at FB often you are under more pressure to get a pass away (often just clearing the ball in a hit and hope style pass up the pitch). As i said, you need direct comparison stats rather than using a seasons worth of stats with Benno playing multiple positions. For one, id like to know how many times Benno was skinned compared to Nyambe at RB and how many chances/goals conceded were down to either. Whenever Benno played RB it seemed that his side was always heavily targeted by the oppo while this never seemed to be the same when Nyambe played. As for stubborness, i would suggest that is coming from you. Not many seem to be agreeing with your skewed opinion and stats. I respect your opinion as everybody has a right to one but dont try shutting down debate with skewed stats as if they are some kind of fact that proves your opinion right. Get direct comparisons and then we can talk.
  15. Not really a precedent though. Would have been a precedent if they were allowed. It was never going to happen. Other clubs are hardly going to vote in favor of it as much as they sympathise. It would just mean clubs could do the same in future and expect the same treatment.
  16. Lawrence deserves jail time for a certain miss anyway.
  17. It shows his versatility yes, not that he is a better RB. You need direct stats for both players and only the performances in that position, otherwise they are greatly skewed. So, sorry try again to use stats to back up your opinion.
  18. And the 35 shots? Bit unfair to be comparing stats when EB played midfield, wing, rb ans just about anywhere else. Those stats do not mean he is a better rb.
  19. Is that just stats for playing RB or stats for the whole season in all positions? Because i do not remember EB scoring and getting 3 assists from RB Also it saya 35 shots EB had. I think your stats are a little off mate. He played over the shop last season.
