  1. Watched the game yesterday and thought Cardiff where a well organised upper championship team who came with a game plan to restrict our attack and did it excellently. I also feel come the end of the season they will be top 6 or very close. I’ve been spoilt recently and probably would have found 3 v 0 an anticlimax. On reflection however I think 0v0 is not a bad result and a fair reflection of how much we’ve improved this season. We have some of our better players injured and fingers crossed I also think we will be in the mix at the end.
  2. Thank god for that my blood pressure went that high I thought my head would pop
  3. A goalkeeping coach £84000 per week. Unbelievable and then they cry poverty. If covid has any positives ( which I can’t think of) then it might I install a sense of financial realism in what is clearly a system out of control
  4. I’m not sure if your serious but I think the same. We are not far off and the football I’ve seen so far is a million miles from the previous stuff. There is great movement in and around the ball and more importantly confidence. save my agreement
  5. The thought of that scenario strikes fear. I’m sure that behaviour comes with a death penalty
  6. We are great to watch the movement, the running with the ball and some of the individual talent . The recklessness in defence will cost us in the end but the array of talent is a pleasure to watch. I am not a great lover of Mowbray and I’m not sure if it’s by design or accident but it is entertaining and our style appears to have changed. All in all a great game to watch shame about the result but let’s do the same again. There will not be many teams in this league that are that clinical and we will win more than we lose. COYB
  7. I agree can’t see us anywhere near promotion. The real point of interest for us is the possibility of a change in personnel. Williams and mulgrew will leave and I think there appears to be some evidence of less game time for Bennett. There is the emergence of a group of talented young players from the academy who I believe either through choice or necessity Mowbray will use. So for me the excitement of this season is not in a promotion challenge but starting to see the benefits from the a academy.
  8. Not a bad half. Some solid performances particularly from the academy graduates
  9. According to the commentary our defending is open, reckless and naive.
  10. That’s funny because for some reason that’s what I thought.
  11. Yes but he’s getting into those positions. The transfer fee is not his fault and also his promotional YouTube stuff never show him has an out and out striker. Also I agree his previous effort has been atrocious in the main but it seems to be coming together
  12. Like say Scott Wharton he’s done the rounds. League 2 player of the month. Gestede had one good season with us the rest before and after has been shite. Having a good spell does not make him the solution to our problems. in the main you reach a level there are exceptions but they are unusual particularly in this day and age. Vardy is one. i was gutted on the failure to sign John McGinn but not s player with no previous. This one is a pinch of salt
  13. Pre this I’d never really heard of kipre. He’s only a Wigan defender. He’s now the holy grail. Less than a million when top draw defenders go for 30 million. Came from Motherwell to wigan via the French league. It journeyman stuff. Would a journey man choose more money at wba?obviously he would. Are there more players of kipre standard? Very very probably. Most of it is desperation from us. We’ve missed out on an average player. Move on
  14. I have a good feeling about Brereton regardless of yesterday’s miss I think he’s improving and could turn out to be a much better player than his initial performances suggest.
  15. Wharton looked more composed than lenihan. dolan was like a breath of fresh air. Attacks with the ball and tracks back. brereton has significantly improved better first touch and drives at the opposition. like the look of rankin Costello and will make a first team regular. Not sure if that will be at right back. rothwell needs to be a lot further foward. bell erratic has ever The others did their job. we still seem shakey defensively If put under any pressure
  16. Tommy docherty was advised by a scout to sign a player. The scout said this guy doesn’t know the meaning of the word defeat. Several months later the scout rang to check on the players progress. Tom docherty replied you’re right he doesn’t know the meaning of the word defeat and I’ll tell you three other words he doesn’t know the meaning of pass , shoot and dribble.
  17. I agree give the guy a chance. I saw him a couple of times in the championship and he didn’t look out of his depth. He may make a mistake or two but what the hell mowbrays entire system is littered with it. Get him In the team and on the pitch and let’s take it from there. We are never going to sign the finished article so if he’s good enough for the endless rolling contracts then he deserves a chance.
  18. The most sublime performance speedie first leg play offs derby
  19. Martin dahlin Everton away was a shocker. Id been to a wedding and convinced people to come to watch. We sat in the obscured view area at goodison all I can say is thank the Lord. It was appalling
