  1. The worst about him he complains that a state of the art category one academy is not good enough for his ideas. ( the guy who couldn’t convince the owners of chesterfield to employ him). He then wants to play a-possession game but to prove his point re the training facilities fucks the ewood pitch up by training on that. I cant wait to see the next job he gets because he as moaned about cat 1 facilities let’s see how he does at port vale or Northampton because if he’s lucky that’s where he’s heading. Hes is not an unpleasant fella great for a pint on a Friday for s chat football but a bag of shite manager. Four years and can’t find a best 11. Even with great facilities, money and a youth academy complains about luck. In the old adage a bad workman always blames his tools.
  2. I think even the players knew they where drifting close to relegation. It goes by the saying one swallow doesn’t make a summer. Not played for him for weeks. Expected him to be gone to be fair we all did. There is no stretch of the imagination that they don’t want rid. Very average manager who talks the talk but can’t walk the walk. Youve just extrapolated a 30 mins of effort and made into a team that is behind Mowbray. What about the 90 mins at Wycombe the capitulation at home to Bornmouth. Or notts forest , Barnsley watford, Preston qpr etc. He’s a very poor manager and needs the sack ASAP. In normality he would have been but this is us. So who knows why he’s still here but it’s not because the team is playing for him look at the results
  3. So brockhall is of the table. Maybe the penny dropped with our long distance owners that they where just about to get dicked. Loss of cat 1 would have been a disaster and that was going to happen.Waggot is a chancer. Mowbray a poor manager. Venus is mainly asleep. This may be the point where we say goodbye. In my opinion god help any club that they end up at.
  4. I’ve come to read Mowbray press releases with a view of who it’s designed to speak to. It not for us it’s for Venkys. Does he speak regularly to them about games. Don’t make me laugh. He is telling them what he’s trying to achieve at that everyone can see how good the performance are. It’s not them telling him they agree. Then he does the good owners stick with managers. Have they said that. No way. He is appealing to them again for more time that’s my opinion don’t judge on results but performance that’s what good owners do. Desperate rather than devious and in limbo no reassurances just silence. Even Waggot doesn’t know what’s going on because by any standard he should be gone. The big question is why. He’s losing matches the fans and the players. I still believe Oldham and Mercer the clocks ticking. Ps mercer don’t quit there’s not enough of us anyway without losing loyal ones. I for one appreciate your opinions.
  5. Garner might not be great at taking penalties but he was great at getting them. Kicked at the half way line went down in the box. Great player and Loved Rovers. I always put him above Shearer just for that.
  6. He will after 5 years leave us where he found us. Scrapping around at the bottom of the championship. He’s done well . If they flog brockhall his mates have done well. The old boy players plus his mates kid pears have done well. It just us fans that have had to pay for it. Yet again.
  7. This cant go on. It’s not possible that any owner can sanction this. Bennett and downing. I also agree our commentary is crap. The difference between the sides is the cost of their fowards. Then explain Wycombe you arses.
  8. Youre probably right but think of the I told you so mileage on here I’m going to get if I’m correct. Ill change my name to guru blue
  9. I’m going to stick my neck out and say before the next game. In a roundabout way Mowbray tells you his concerns by telling you his strengths. He tells you about a journey means let me keep trying. He discusses the Ayala: we are working with him and I won’t make the same mistake again honest guv. He isn’t getting results: but all other managers see how good his teams style is becoming. Means ignore the results I’m achieving something else you must see it others can and they know the business The pitch is responsible for our failure. means don’t accuse me of adopting the wrong tactics they would work if it wasn’t for the pitch These are a young group of lads( which there are not): I’m the core here a father figure you need me to guide them The journey only began this season: I know I made promises but give me a chance. We are years behind x club: listen guys that is why it’s taking me so long to deliver. We are a small fish in a big pond: limit your expectations and don’t expect to much. Contracts negotiations across the board have stalled. Why let him sign loads of players to new contracts if he’s not going to be here. I’d be interested to see how he explains Barnsley. He knows he’s in trouble for massive underachieving and I believe signing a crock against orders. Thats my reasoning and I’ll stick with before the next game
  10. The problem ( one of many) in terms of managers you never know what they will do. Did they not give Coyle the elbow after a great performance against Man Utd or am I imagining it.
  11. Great point but if what happened today is the difference between Mowbray staying or going then it really has become a lottery. I would like to think a decision to change manager or keep him is a bit more professional than that both for the club and Mowbray
  12. He was also a massive kean supporter to add to the horror of his appt. Having read other people’s contribution on this topic Coyle did in comparison to Mowbray get the shit end of the stick. At the time I wanted him sacked for all the reasons stated. I do however feel Mowbray gets away with alot due to his image and being in the right place at the right time so we compare him to Coyle rather than Dalglish.(although he does compare himself to klopp and pep). In relative terms he is much nearer to Coyle than we dare admit and miles away from dalglish. In absolute terms he is a better fit to Chesterfield thanRovers were a lot of his nonsense statements would have been appt as they are straight out of league 2 . Bigger teams, building slowly, accepting our position. He has made a managerial career of failure and good luck to him. Great work if people buy into it. Me I’m old fashioned I want points, play offs , promotions and prizes. He can save the chat and observations for someone who cares
  13. I worked in boro and every man and his dog knew Ayla never plays between Christmas and April. I’ve not looked at any stats and I’m merely relaying the general opinion. I also assume Mowbray will have known the style we were going to play and made Ayala his player of choice irrespective of a poor injury record. Like or loathe Mowbray he is guilty in this case of poor decision making
  14. Mowbray has previously always been good at achieving the good performance when the chips are down. This time I really don’t think it’s there. I’m not sure promotion from league one was his achievement or that of a core of senior players who took control after the oldham game. He once said as much himself. When results have gone poorly in the past the crowd have brought pressure to bear on the players and those same senior players have driven the turn around. This time those dressing room leaders have gone and I dont feel he or his back room staff have the necessary skill set to turn it round. In support of this see Coventry and Celtic were the slide could not be halted. We are now down to wait and see repeat what I’ve done previously and hope something changes. I don’t think Mowbray is an ogre just not good enough and that’s the top and bottom of it. His excuses are the normal behaviour of a fella without answers. In another time he would have been released before we got this far but not here and we’ve been hurtling head long to this position for some time not just the last 11 games. Norwich to win 4 v 1. Farke to praise Mowbrays style and go home happy with 3 points.
  15. If I’ve said this before then I apologise. I was working in Norwich early in Mowbrays reign and went to an under 23 game and ended up sat with the parents. They were to a man adamant that Mowbray wanted to get rid of the academy and felt it was a waste of time and money. As this proposal is from our Coventry friends they may be happy to loose academy status.
  16. When I was a kid I went to blackburn home and the week after Burnley home games with my dad and his mates. All Rovers fans and about 10 / 15 of them and to a man they hated dougan. He personified everything that went wrong at that final and turned fans against the club. Never saw him play, didn’t know him but if my dad says he’s a wanker then he is.
  17. Or maybe the players like the rest of us have just had enough of Mowbray
  18. The commentary is right it takes us 5 passes to get any where and it’s dangerous
  19. Last night showed how Mowbray has wasted an opportunity to get us into at least the top 6. Young talented squad but let down by a lack of organisation. Such a shame really
  20. I’m working today so will miss this one but I wish I could watch it. It’s kamikaze against a rough and tumble Millwall. 3v0 Rovers that’s almost a given.
  21. We really are becoming a slow motion car crash we can’t defend and can’t attack two of the basic principles regardless of more intricate philosophy. I have no personal animosity for Mowbray but business wise he is failing. Excuses don’t solve problems they attempt to explain them. We need solutions and quickly before time runs out.
  22. One of the commentators also said that when your in a difficult run like Rovers you need to halt it by becoming difficult to beat and we are not set up to do that which is a concern
