  1. If BBD was that close to being sold there is no way he would have played yesterday. More nonsense from Nixon.
  2. Defenders are finally coming! Shame about the midfield, wing backs, strikers and sub goalkeeper.
  3. Just got back: JRC awful Buckley really poor (and I’m a fan of his) Dack poor Diaz off day. When we lose Ayala to the inevitable injury we’re in big trouble. Adam Wharton looked twice the player John Buckley is when he came on. He needs tying down. Massive amount of work to be done next week to avoid anything other than a relegation battle. Jury still very much out for me on JDT. Setup in the first half was atrocious. Lot for him to prove.
  4. Awful performance. Worst 45 mins I’ve seen in a long time. Kaminski awful for the goal. Buckely shit JRC shit Dack shit and doing nothing to repay the managers faith in giving him the start
  5. Whilst I think it important to sell him if we do get a decent offer, I can't help but feel a bit sad about Diaz leaving. I wasn't really arsed about Armstrong going, as whilst he'd done well, it was behind closed doors and there was no real connection. Since his breakout, miraculous transformation from Brereton to Diaz he's worked his socks off for our club and forged a real connection. Anyway, if his superb turn and finish against WBA is the last we see of him live at Ewood it was a great way for him to end.
  6. Nope. As I said, nothing to fear from a team starting Smallwood and Chapman. Good to still be in a cup, onwards to new signings and a much improved league performance on Saturday!
  7. Richie Smallwood and Harry Chapman...reason enough for us to be confident of doing a job regardless of what defence we have to put out.
  8. TAA is one of the worst full backs in the league defensively. He should be in midfield or on the bench for me.
  9. Have we signed Ronaldinho and Beckham yet?
  10. Unless there is a concrete plan (and by that I mean targets already identified just waiting for the money) to reinvest the majority of whatever we get (£15m?) then I’d hold firm. It’s most likely the funds will be used to plug the massive financial black hole, rather than improving the squad. I’d much rather roll the dice, I’m sick of scrapping around in this shit league.
  11. Barely heard a peep out of West Brom fans apart from first 5 minutes and then just after they scored, so don’t think they’re in a position to be talking about our fans. Very very poor away backing.
  12. Yep. I tried to vote yesterday and again this morning. On iOS, get same error saying “your vote could not be submitted”
  13. What a win! I’d be more critical of parts of the performance if we hadn’t had Buckley at right back and Pickering at centre half. Few stand outs but Diaz and Ayala towered above everyone else. Diaz put himself in the shop window with another great performance, moments of quality and ran his socks off. Ayala - I’m convinced he might be the best centre half in the league, if only he could stay fit.
  14. I do think people fetishize academy graduates. Nyambe was a decent defensive full back. He was woeful going forward, beyond being quite quick. He was very poorly advised by his agent during the transfer saga. I do agree that Brittain (so far) looks a perfectly serviceable replacement, with the added bonus of not looking way out of his depth in the attacking third.
  15. I mean that is a foul, he’s grabbed his shirt, but he’s also gone over so easy….Needs stamping out
  16. Oh lord what have you done! This'll be another 40 pages derailment on the subject "Is John Buckley any good????" All the big names on both sides of the argument will be in here soon
  17. Utter nonsense. With the passage of time we'll all continue to wonder why we spent the last 4 years back in the Championship treading water and seemingly making no effort to get promoted, while the manager spent every interview talking the club down.
  18. Absolutely, there’s no way I believe JDT would let a death spiral happen. Either he’d stop the rot or have too much honour and step away, unlike the last muppet.
  19. People in this thread get so wound up about this 😂 Who cares what pundits/analysts call things? There’s loads of terminology from 19th century football no longer in use, sport evolves, what’s the issue?
  20. I actually used to feel quite sorry for Andrews. I mean he was shit and had no business being in the Premier League but as you say, he always tried, just woefully out his depth. Can't have been easy week after week knowing 20k of your own fans all think you're crap. The money probably helped mind
  21. Rothwell is criminally overrated by some people in here. He was a decent Championship midfielder who I’d be be happy to still have but that’s about it. His end product was often poor and like some else mentioned his running up dead ends often left gaping holes in midfield. Buckley has a much higher ceiling and will go far further in the game. I’d be genuinely shocked if Rothwell makes any sort of impact in the Premier League, whereas I’m sure that’s where Buckley will end up (ideally with Rovers!).
  22. Still had Covid restrictions on attendance during that tournament didn’t we? That said, still a great stat!
  23. Showed a lot of bottle to come back from the disappointment of the equaliser. Men should take note…
  24. Number 9 for England (White?) has a worse first touch than Sam Gallagher. Dreadful
  25. “Crap heavy metal” 🤦 You mean Thunderstruck by AC/DC….
