  1. Not only do Sheff U have the best finisher in the Championship in Billy Sharp but in Enda Stevens they also have the best player that I have seen in the Championship this season, everything that you want from a wing back, you watch him play and you see why we can't play 3/5 at the back as we don't have anyone on either side who could do the job that he does.
  2. I couldn't agree more people keep comparing us with Sheff U purely because we are in the same boat that they were last year however we look more like 3-4 years behind them than 1 year. They have a clear way that they want to play and have signed players to suit that way whereas Mowbray talks a good game but how he talks and how we play don't add up and we therefore end up with a scatter gun approach to transfers, signing bits and pieces players who can do a job filling in here and there rather than making an actual difference.
  3. He looked more assured in 25 minutes at centre back against West Brom than Lenihan has looked all season.
  4. Whenever he has played he has shown nothing not even a spark to suggest he is up to the job of starting over Graham. He might be a big lad but he's as weak as Armstrong, whoever he is up against be it upfront or out wide they bully him. He has no pace or tricks to beat his man, his first touch is even worse than Lukaku's. He may or may not look good playing under 19's football but that is totally irrelevant that is kids football this is man's football and he looks out of his depth in it as 7 goals from open play in 68 Championship appearances suggests. If age group football was a barometer then Nuttall would be in the squad every week but he's not because it is a huge jump from age group football to Championship football. Also you say 'that's a no' when I responded about seeing Brereton for England under 19's,one I'll ask you again what relevance do his performance's in under 19's football have? And two I saw him play in the Euro Championship's in the summer and I can't say he stood out at all there were some talented looking players in the tournament but he wasn't one of them as 1 goal in 4 games would suggest.
  5. Oh wow I pushed the wrong word on predictive text. But I note you still can't tell me what relevance playing under 19's football for England will have up against a big strong and experienced West Brom back line in the Championship?
  6. I fail to see what relevance playing for England under 19's has to staring for Blackburn Rovers in the Championship up against fully grown experienced centre backs. Scoring 5 goals in 18 games (hardly prolific) for England under 19's won't help much if he plays on Tuesday up against big strong experienced defenders like Dawson and Hegazi. If what you did in age group football was a barometer for playing Championship football then Nuttall would be in the squad every week.
  7. Kids football he's now playing men's football now and looks like a lost kid playing it.
  8. We don't have two decent centre back's let alone three.
  9. Worrying that Mowbray couldn't see what most could see about our defence and believed it was good enough for this level. I believe now is the time to sack Mowbray otherwise I believe this spiral down the table is only going to continue but if we are to keep Mowbray we need to bring someone in to take charge of recruitment. Mowbray's signings (Dack aside) has been average at best and if the January signing have as little impact as the summer ones then a relegation battle beckons.
  10. Chapman only had cameo appearances but he made an impression and you could see potential in him, Brereton shown nothing. As for the price tag it may not have been his choice but its is his job to live up to it.
  11. Mowbray's treatment of him as been very shabby. Last season he was practically ostracised from the team for one bad foul that in the end didn't cost us any points. This season he has barely played, rarely been on the bench and most of the time followed the squad around as a spare man in matchday squads. If he wasn't going to be used he should have been sent out on loan to play games and continue his development. In my opinion Travis is a real talent who for me is already better than Evans and Smallwood. He work rate is second to none, he gets stuck in but he is also composed on the ball, a good passer and not afraid to run with the ball.
  12. What is the best formation though. The current 4-2-3-1 clearly isn't working, We have no wingers to play 4-4-2 and where would Dack play in that. We can't play 3/5 at the back as we don't have 2 decent centre back's let alone 3 and our full backs aren't good enough to be wing backs.
  13. The last few months have shown the limitations of this team and if the club want to in the future to be pushing for the top 6 (which I assume is the aim having spent £10 million in the summer) I honestly think we probably need to add 7-8 players. A right back, a left back, 2 centre backs, 2 wingers and a centre forward. I'd also like to see Reed added on a permanent and if he's not we need another Midfielder. There's also a lot of deadwood that needs shifting. I'm not naïve enough to think we are going to sign 7-8 but in January we need 3-4 players to make sure that the summer rebuild is taking place as a Championship club. The priorities for me are a centre back, a winger, striker and a left back.
  14. I can't see Palmer being here much longer after West Brom. A shame as with a run of games I think there is a good player there, I fully expect him to go on loan to another Championship club under a different manager and excel.
  15. I've seen enough footballers over the years and seen enough of this la already to know that he is not up to standard.
  16. You must be watching a different team to me and you are certainly watching a different Lenihan. We've conceded one more goal than we had at the same time under Coyle but its hardly surprising as it is the same players apart from Bell when he plays but he's probably the worst defender of the lot. When we went down we lost 5 games by more than one goal, it's 6 already this season. Also when we went down we conceded more than 2 goals a game 7 times we have already conceded more than 2 a game 6 times this season.
  17. So basically we still need everything that we needed in the summer. And you can add a right back to that list as well.
  18. An incredible comment.
  19. It was the same with Bowyer, he never trusted youth which is why O'Connell lined up for them today. Let's hope Travis and others don't feel the need to follow his path.
  20. Just imagine how many points better of we would be if we spent that £7 Million on a marksman like Billy Sharp. We had £7 Million and rather than buy a proven goal scorer we gambled it on a dud. We are paying £7 Million for Brereton on January 1st, if we weren't and he was going back to Forest after his loan no club would even pay £1 Million for him.
  21. If we are at our best then we could nick a point against West Brom but most likely a defeat, West Brom away is probably the last time we played well we were superb that day. The following 5 games are huge games they are all very winnable, a poor points return from them and we will be right in the midst of a relegation dog fight.
  22. If it is then his fitness methods are outdated.
  23. Reading and Bolton both gained a point on us today. At 15:00 on Wednesday we were 12 points from relegation tonight we are 9 from relegation with our goal difference getting worse all the time.
  24. They gave him around £10 million this summer and what did he come up with, Armstrong and Big Ben. As for it being a massive rebuild in the summer let's just hope that the rebuild is for the Championship.
  25. A similar January and we may well start February on the brink of the bottom 3. Fitness is clearly a massive issue and that lies squarely with the manager. Players have been found out, the fight and spirit have gone and been replace by a soft touch who role over too easily. Most worryingly of all there is no sign of it changing we looking clueless in how to create from open play and just rely on Dack or Graham to produce something and the defence get's worse game by game. Nyambe's been poor since coming back from injury, Lenihan is unrecognisable from the player of the previous few seasons, Bennett is not a full back and it doesn't seem to matter who play's left back they are as awful as each other. I know Williams isn't the most popular on here but I've always thought him steady the last couple seasons but since he's come back from injury he looks like someone who has never played the game before.
