That's because this league is a very poor league. It's competitive because everyone is crap and inconsistent. You've got premier league sides with parachute money struggling and league 1 promoted teams doing okay along with so called big clubs flattering to decieve. In a sport where it's 11 vs 11 if you have two or three drop off in fitness towards the end of a game it exposes you. You can even get fatigue mentally as well leading to poor decisions. Does anyone think Rothwell would do better as a right winger than a central midfielder? From what I've seen of him he seems very quick especially over the first 10 yards and he has more technical ability than Bennet. I think he would bring a bit of a risk in terms of defensively but I'd rather risk him on the right than the left as Nyambe is the best fallback we have at the club. If he kept his player pushed back and restricted them from getting forward then you'd thing Nyambe would be able to deal with a winger 1 vs 1 instead of 1 v 2.

Downing is the equivalent of Smallwood. Great squad players at this level that can do specific jobs for the benifit of the team. I think downing is the best defender of crosses and aerial balls that we have at the club.
