  1. So if you are saying Bell must be a great player, then the blame must lie with our coaching staff for him being an undeveloped shadow of his former promising talent ? It has to be one or the other because he really isn't up to this standard.
  2. See above I amended my post. 1. Suhail. You are adding the word Director. Head of is responsible for. Simple business review of responsibilities. 2. Mowbray's job to keep or lose. There is a backup plan (at least to the end of the season) which is within budget. 3. No 3 individual meetings. The 4th meeting after the employees had been sent back to work will have been the crucial one.
  3. Waggott didn't go. Suhail did. He has been made Head of (taken responsibility which previously was Mowbray's) not Director of anything. To be more precise, Tony has been relieved of the responsibility.
  4. Isn't it odd that Waggott wasn't involved in any of this ? No because his "power" (responsibility) is limited to the commercial side. TM has now been formally relieved of some of his duties to focus solely on his main responsibilty of challenging for the top 6. This is the vision he sold to them and must now deliver. The trigger finger is twitching.
  5. Toshin and Bell definately playing, going off the LT piece. Obviously the club PR are reading this thread and concerns over Bell's (in)capability. Mowbray addressing the concerns so we can all feel reassured.
  6. We shouldn't believe everything we read in the paper (LT) as ALL quotes are spoon fed PR from the club. Mowbray was given a target of 12 points from 6 games and has failed massively with one still to play. He was summoned to India to answer for his inept failure. He has privately been given a "vote of confidence" from our humble and trusting owners but watch out for the next points target which will be his last. This reshuffle is just window dressing in anticipation of his exit, to minimise casualties and see Johnson become head coach. Pressure now on.
  7. We have been told that the target is a top 6 finish. We all know that is not how football works and most clubs will have the same aspirations. It isn't as easy as just getting into the top 6 because you say it in an interview. However, this does mean we should be visibly challenging and competing for the top 6. If we don't get there we can see the shortcomings, strengthen in summer and achieve next time. Right now we are nowhere near challenging. Finishing 14th is not progress. Finishing above 8th just missing the play offs will arguably be progress. Throwing in the towel in October and saying "well it's OK if we finish 14th", "in Tony we trust", etc. is just unforgivable.
  8. "Rovers’ record of not coming from behind to win a game since April 2018 is now well known, while they haven’t won at Ewood when the opposition have scored since January 1." I knew the first stat but didn't realise the second one. Shocking ! Of course Tony's slate was wiped clean with the new season wasn't it.
  9. Bell was a disgrace against QPR. Maybe you could say he wasn't prepared to come on because the Cunningham injury wasn't expected but that mentality is absolutely criminal for a so called professional. I can excuse his limited abilty as he is a 3rd division player and hasn't developed. I cannot excuse his poor attitude and lack of effort. Contract is up at the end of the season so needs to move on in January.
  10. Don't be offended Duncan if I report your post merely for suggesting we play Bell. I realise he will play but 2 wrongs don't make a right.
  11. That game against Man U where neither team tried to attack or get the ball. Both teams with 11 men in their own half passing it about running the clock down. Batty and Le Saux fighting whilst the world watched on TV.
  12. Paul to answer your latest point without quoting. Apologies if you misunderstood. You got it now about renaming the product but also changing the format to pricing being equal for all. When I am talking about STs being outdated. I refer the the ST format. I the old days the well off had a ST in the Nuttall Street stand and the working man stood on the terraces. Keeping this old ST format is just not in keeping with the way people live their lives these days. Apart from us older generation). ? Ripping up the old format and changing to a membership model with fair pricing FOR ALL would be innovative and display leadership and bravery. Tweaking ST prices and coming up with mini season tickets (pricing shackled by the full ST price), as Stuart points out, will never achieve a single thing.
  13. Paul, you are very defensive of your seat but nowhere have I proposed a free for all without reserved seating. Season Ticket format replaced by Membership format. No idea at all why you have gone off talking about disabled fans. You can choose to be a member and pay up front (as you do now) and keep your seat. This is your choice to pay up front (because you can) but the price is £15 per game. You can choose to be a member and pay in 12 monthly installments and keep your seat.a This is your choice and the price is £15 per game. Members get additional benefits in return for their membership. You can choose to go to any match as a walk on because of the many reasons and personal circumstances Chaddy and others have explained a zillion times but the price per game is £15. I can easily afford a season ticket Paul. I am not talking about myself.... I am talking about all Rovers fans being treated equally because they are. I am talking about the stadium being full so all fans get better value for money with a good atmosphere. I am more than happy to discuss with any ST holder from the BBE why they are not a "better fan" than me. Anyone saying they are a better fan because I have a ST or my personal circumstance allows me to pay up front is indeed displaying an elitist attitude. You could argue that the regular 400 (or whatever it was) late walk ons who pay the Waggott Tax are our best fans as they contribute most to the club.
  14. You dont lose anything Chris. You become a member (think of the words Season Ticket replaced by the word Member). Same seat. Dont panic. This is what I mean by Elitist attitude. I have a season ticket so that makes me a better more entitled fan than others. Sorry... It does not !!! All fans should be treated with equal value and the emphasis should 100% be filling the ground that Jack built for us, rather than all this "I'm a ST holder so you can't allow tickets cheaper than mine" nonsense. I advocate ALL TICKETS to be a flat affordable price and a full stadium.
  15. missing the point. you still have all those things such as seat etc guaranteed with your membership. You have a members card just like now. it autorenews annually so even simpler. Nothing to remember at all. You pay the same price per game as every other fan. £15. i.e. ALL fans equal.
  16. Elitist out of date view. I am more loyal than they are which makes me a better fan. You can go for 50 years and never have a ST and yet you are not loyal ? So they can have an option to pay your 12 month membership in one payment if a 12 month direct debit is too inconvenient for super fans. Auto-renewable of course... I am all for flexiblity to facilitate all circumstances and generations. The key is that the system treats ALL fans the same and facilitates the less wealthy INSTEAD of rewarding the wealthy. As with everything in life, the innovative forward thinkers will lead the way in change. Huddersfield as one example have taken this route to answer your question.
  17. Season Tickets = Value for money FAKE NEWS PEOPLE....FAKE NEWS ! Opportunities for the few keeping the many away from Ewood (and other grounds). Take back the peoples game and give it back to the people. Come on Mr Waggott, show your leadership and be brave. It is no longer 1970 in our great town. We need 18,000 average gates and your task is to deliver that. Think outside of this box I have to type in. We need to innovate our whole approach to selling our product to our (potential) customers.
  18. So the fans exist and can be enticed by £10 tickets. Interesting. 8600 ×14.30 = £122,980 ST income 3000 x 22 = £66,000 walk on income or 18000 x 15 = £270,000 Conclusion. Abandon season tickets and the outdated idea they are an attractive offer in 2020. They offer no value for money because a.) The atmosphere is none existent. b.) The entertainment is very poor. c.) The potential customers cannot afford them. Flat rate of £15 per game for all supporters i.e. no discounts for the wealthy who can afford a ST. Membership available at £345 over 12 months at £28.75 per month or £15 per match. Members get benefits such as priority on away tickets, the odd voucher and free entry to U23 games but not discounted match prices. Membership auto-renews unless you cancel like everything else... so people dont have to choose to renew. They have to choose to cancel. None of this silly 1875 nonsense which adds to the "them and us" elite fan mentality. People want to simply be able to go to watch a football match when they want to and always be charged a fair price. If I get in from work 10 minutes before KO I want to go be able to choose to go down without being penilised or ripped off. I am NOT a lesser fan than the person that could decide 2 weeks before. If I am weekly paid & can only afford £20 including a pint, I want to be able to go down and watch my team. I am NOT a lesser fan the person who could afford £400 in one go for a ST in the JW. If the game is on Sky I ideally want to go to the live game and feel the atmosphere in a full stadium. If the Sky alternative is a lifeless empty stadium I will not see the ADDED VALUE of spending £30.
  19. How did we fill Ewood against OXFORD UNITED ?
  20. or hes just a clueless manager
  21. OK. Fair enough.
  22. Sorry Ozz, This is precisely what many have already done. You openly display the Waggott mentality of pay or go away? You mock the suggestion because you prefer going down and sitting in the desolation of 20 thousand empty seats? You mock because you or I can pay £45 in one hit but you don't want those who can't clogging up the half time pie queue? I would have thought they would like to sell 10,000 of these tickets. Not 2000. It means facilitating the purchase by as many potential customers as possible. Working class people from Blackburn ? Otherwise they might as well abandon this ticket now and let the same 2000 pay the walk on prices gaining £43 per person or £86,000. Who cares about attendances anyway...
  23. The more I listen to your posts the more I think you spout the crap fed by the club instead of actually holding them to account on anything. Have you ever asked them what their plan is to fill the 20 thousand empty seats ? Pay 40 quid or take out a membership... that will work won't it. No+No = empty seat
  24. This is a great offer (on the face of it). £15 a game, where Brentford will be on the red button for free on a cold Nov night. £45 is still a lot for some people to stump up in one go. It would have more take up if say it could be paid in 2 installments. i.e. £25 up front (to cover the first game) and £20 before the 16th Nov (to ensure the second 2 games). ? They also need to do something (arguably better) in December as well, when we have 3 more home games. I would say if you have bought the November 3 for £45 then you become eligible for December 3 for £30 otherwise there is a 3 for £45. This would mean you can get 6 games for £75 instead of £150. I don't think anyone can complain at that.
  25. What is key here is that Mowbray set a target of 12 points from the "next 6 games" which were going to be so much easier than the very hard first 6. I would have thought a target of 15 would have been more appropriate... or just getting "3 points from the next game" one by one. So we are sat with 7 points from 5 games. The target is well and truly missed. Was it Mowbray's own target or was it a target given to him ? Is he about to become history or will he explain to us, his exciting new target for the next 6 games. Brum, Nobbers, Owls, Leeds, Barnsley, Brentford. Question is, what should this new target be ? 12 again (mediocrity or an improvement) or less (dumb down further) or more (fantasy) ? What about after missing the 3rd target in a row ? Oh yes the old "lets see where we are after Xmas" routine. Will the fans lap up his nonsense or see this is a complete waste of time ? He better not once use the defensive injuries as an excuse.
