  1. The least worst = The best
  2. The ultimate answer to increasing attendances is not in the walk ons. It is in getting regular ST holder numbers up. We have 8600 ST holders and 2000-3000 walk ons. e.g. Huddersfield have 18000 ST holders and only 2000 matchday tickets available. The fact that their walk on tickets are limited ensures they are in demand and often sell out. We need to be aiming for these exact numbers. ST holders should generally be supportive of every effort to get more bodies in the ground and improve the experience you get for your ST money ? i.e. the value for money of your ST goes up pro rata if the ground is full and has a great atmosphere ? It isn't a race to the bottom Paul.
  3. Yes. All matchday prices went up by £3 and STs were frozen. Based on Riverside £19 is now £22 £22 is now £25 Then there was the creation of the rip off A+ which is a massive £36 or £40 in the BBE. The emphasis is on improving the value for money of the ST, now worth 10 free games. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2019/july/matchday-prices-2019-20/ But if you still can't afford a ST or you will miss lots of games so don't find it worthwhile, it doesn't address the 20K empty seats. That's why sales didn't improve.
  4. Disagree 100%. It doesn't matter a jot how many years you had a ST. You pay your money like everyone else for the upcoming season or you don't go. The money is needed to run the club ! So what about the folks who have been going for 60 years or 50 years or 40 years (like me). Should we not be getting a discount just because we no longer have a ST ? There are 20,000 empty seats. Do you realise that or not ? There is a need to find new ways to bring new or lapsed or fans into the ground regularly. Why ? To improve the atmosphere and balance the books without having £15 million added to the debt every year. Giving pats on the back and discounts to the existing 8600 ST holders is the opposite of what is required.
  5. 1. We did get what we deserved in those games. 2. It's 1 week resting and 1 week training. 3. Complete bollox. Needs to stay off twitter and concentrate on his positional play, work rate and leadership skills.
  6. Had a scan at Cardiff and awaiting results according to LT. Williams drafted in to play for Ireland now so he better not get injured or we will have a back 4 of Bennett Nyambe Toshin Bell Not that injuries are not part and parcel of every season, which is why "defenders are coming".
  7. bang on Josh. And...if you don't have a ST you then become a casual walk on or don't go. 6 home games over Nov and Dec is £150 before travel, refreshments, Xmas presents and Waggott Tax. Night games are on the red button for free. I don't see us having regular walk ons who are going to all 6 games. More like a pool of several thousand who might go to 2 or 3 each. Key is to get all those into every game and affordability IS part of that equation.
  8. I thought Bolton played pretty well. Game was quite entertaining. They were certainly up for it chasing down every ball with urgency unlike our shamble of shit at weekend. Keith Hill has got them working hard. Didn't see any slowly slowly sideways passing. If they keep grinding out draws and an odd win they could even stay up.
  9. But do you both accept you may be in the minority amongst our ST holders ? And as we are fundamentally discussing ways to increase attendances... Do you think there are people who would buy if they could pay over 12 months or are you not assed as long as you are personally OK ?
  10. I thought that is what HAS happened this year. No discussion required.
  11. The lads are resting this week.
  12. Its about providing flexibility and accessability for different people to pay in different ways meaning more customers. (increased attendance). Good for you and your wife Paul if you can buy phones up front. I will hazard a guess most of blackburn have monthly contracts. The same market we operate in. The thing is you operate this type of subscription based membership OR the old season ticket model. Not both. In fact the main difference is only that the subscription is spread over 12 months so becomes more manageable compared to buying a season ticket over 8 months. Just needs some data behind it. How many of our 8600 ST holders pay up front compared to the 8 x monthly payments option ?
  13. Yes. 12 month minimum term contract (same as most gyms?) So you pay £36 per month in the Blackburn End and you are in every match for that. So we just had 2 home games in 4 days meaning £50 in one week when one game is free on the red button. Most months its 2 or 3 home games (like in Nov and Dec when people have Xmas) so instead of forking out £50 - £75 in a month its only £36. Nov + Dec at Ewood is around £150 Of course you also pay over the summer but this seems reasonable to have manageable monthly costs during the year. Imagine Forest at home after just spending £25 a few days ago on defeat to Luton and its free on the red button and you just got in from work so the Waggott tax kicked in. £28 plus travel, food and beer. Decision process... nah. brew feet up red button. https://www.hullcitytigers.com/tickets-landing-page-2/memberships/how-to-buy/
  14. Under no circumstances must Bell ever play for this football club again.
  15. If only we still had a Tony Parkes to step in and sort it out.
  16. Just watched the highlights over and over on Sky. OK yes the defending was poor each time the ball came into the box but all 4 goals came from our right side of midfield. In fact 3 goals were very similar in the build up play with weak as piss challenges in midfield and no urgency to close down the ball. First goal. Look at Armstrong daydreaming in no mans land and then his half arsed attitude to running back. Fuck knows where Bennett thinks he is. Miles away from play. Look at him walking after the ball goes over him to the back post. Second goal. Someone at the time said "knife through butter". Accurate but Bennett was the most forward player totally out of position and the game. Challenge from Williams was like a girl but look at Bell's attitude at the back post just walking towards the ball. Third goal. A repeat of the second goal. Lenihan then stands the ball up well but Williams and Bell absolutely no urgency to get close and win the ball. Bell walking. Fourth goal. Another repeat. This time I think it was Rothwell weak as piss challenge but then his attitude to running back to make another challenge is none existent. Again Bennett way up the pitch completely out the game. Again look at Bell walking at the back stick. Was a sympathetic penalty but probably just about correct. Was a pathetic display.
  17. Would you take a punt on Joey Barton ?
  18. I never get this. When did this happen ? His frailties relegated us. We got promoted in spite of him. One good run last season. The rest crap. This season a continuation of the same.
  19. Huddersfield 3 up in preparation for us.
  20. 77 minutes. 4-1 down. 1 shot on target (penalty). That is 77 minutes without a single shot on target from open play. Tony - please explain.
  21. Those fans spending £200 to go today should be compensated by Waggott from the Tax fund.
  22. If anyone says "give him til Xmas" I am getting banned.
