What people are forgetting is that the annual investment in the pitch maintenance and the cost of groundstaff, were casualties of the cuts when we got relegated. The decision was to retain the Championship playing staff and the Cat A academy. Everything else was cut from the budget and key staff were made redundant. The groundsman spreads his time covering Ewood and Brockhall. Previously they had their own teams. That was part of the restructuring. Blame lies with our owners for past decisions which have resulted in our general demise to mediocrity via the third division. KPMG said you can afford nice grass or Danny Graham but not both.

We used to have full time groundsmen at Ewood. Now our groundsman does 2 days at Ewood, 2 days at Brockhall and 1 day doing the lawns at Venky mansion. Same reason why the ball was dropped and the Brockhall pitches froze. Jack Frost didn't check the rota.

I agree... but then Mowbray got us relegated and has no idea what to do with Gallagher. Easy appointment from the same agent but equally bad in different measures. Both not fit to be anywhere near our club.
