  1. You would think/hope that if Pratt pushes on and makes a few more appearances and does ok, that clubs higher up the pyramid than Chorley will be looking to take our players on loan. At the same time, it is possible that those enquiries are coming in, but Rovers are being overly cautious about which level to send them to? Olson did well in tier 5 last season, cant get a sniff with a newly promoted team in tier 4 this year. On the face of it, trying him up another level made sense, but it hasn't worked out O'Riordan doing well in tier 3 this season, but couldn't get anywhere near at Bristol Rovers team fighting relegation last year Markanday last year dropped off a cliff once he was moved up from tier 4 to 3, similar to Olson, moving him up a level made sense at the time Both of Garrett's loans last year were badly chosen I can see based on those why they may prefer to play it safe and send players to tier 6 Chorley, rather than have them struggle to get on the bench at tier 4 Oldham. However, after Olson's success in tier 5 last year, I would be surprised if we didn't field a few enquiries from that level for other players (such as Pratt) during the summer
  2. Yep, Brad Friedel's initial time at Liverpool want great Bergkamp & Henry also both took a little time to adjust at Arsenal (both took about a quarter of a season to register their first goals)
  3. Pratt was playing in grassroots football up until 2019 which possibly accounts for him being a bit of a throwback compared to Litherland & Atcheson who both grew up in the academy system
  4. Surely you don't think that side is so good that we could have afforded to play with 10? 😉
  5. They managed to do so with Ohashi, hopefully whoever was competent enough to do so has not been hounded out of the club since
  6. I distinctly remember De Bruyne and Salah failing to make much of an impact at Chelsea once upon a time
  7. Generally agree, although it depends if this is the hand that he was dealt or the hand he got to look at in advance before he took the job and willing signed up to when he accepted the position But given the downsizing, and with the players he has at his disposal. He is doing better than expected
  8. U18s lost 1-0 at West Brom in PL U18 cup, Several U16s featuring, Mbonzale & Flynn started, Pitt, Walls & Amusat from the bench, Krajewski also named on the bench was an unused sub
  9. Danny Ventre joined us earlier this month
  10. If that happens, we will be chucking in Litherland/Atcheson at centre back or Houghton at right wing back (or moving Gardner-Hickman/Montgomery there) Terrifyingly thread bare
  11. This is probably far more detail than is necessary, but I think answers your questions 😉 Wolsoncroft is a 2nd year scholar (so 17 or 18 years old), was out on loan last week (technically still is until December) in the 7th tier to cover for someone's first choice who was suspended. I suppose the loan is longer than that for either the sake of some rule I am unaware of, or just in case he impresses, which is what happened with Honors loan last season which was extended a few times until it became a full seasons loan The amount of keepers is at U21 level is owing to unnecessary contract extensions to the likes of Barrett (out on loan) & Kahn (international duty) when we already have Michalski (with the first team), Goddard (injured) & Honor, rather than the amount that we are bringing through. Unsure where Honor is, but he hasn't played since early November so assume he is also injured They bring through 1 or 2 with each scholarship group as each age group will have their own set of goalkeepers (in 2023 it was Michalski, in 2022 was Honor & Kahn, Will Blease was 2021s offering, Goddard was 2020), which in itself isn't a problem as long as when it comes to offering pro deals, they are a bit more selective Wolsoncroft and Thompson (who was on the bench last night for the U21s) are 2nd year scholars (and so still qualify as U18s this season), and therefore out of contract at the end of this season unless/until they are offered pro deals Holt is a first year scholar imagine Krajewski and/or Garside are the ones they will look bring through as scholars next year to ensure they have 2 or 3 who qualify for U18s in 26/27 season Edit - Incidentally Kahn is now a full international, made his debut this week, lost 5-0..... at home to Syria
  12. Is this guy getting man of the match? Danny Ventre - Set Piece Coach analyst. Nov 2025 - Present Doubled our tally from set pieces in one night
  13. Greenwood? Was on loan from Leeds, he is in Poland now
  14. Osmajic? banned for 9 games for being racist as well as a cannibal https://www.blogpreston.co.uk/2025/11/panel-sets-out-reasons-why-milutin-osmajic-was-banned-for-nine-games/
  15. Starts this weekend for O'Riordan - drew 0-0 - played the full game - 7 - Solid as usual, especially in the air. Some early ventures forward with the ball put nothing too spectacular as he played a big part in keeping the back door shut Sergeant - won 1-0 - scored the goal - subbed off after 72 minutes On the bench Barrett - drew 2-2 - remained on the bench throughout Boggan - drew 2-2 - subbed on at 89 minutes with the score at 2-2 Wolsoncroft - drew 2-2 - remained on the bench throughout - was also involved for Rovers U21s at Watford on Friday night Not involved in matchday squad Olson & O'Grady-Macken - won 3-0 Farkas - drew 2-2 - was involved for Rovers U21s at Watford on Friday night Game postponed Edmondson - game called off before kick off - was named in the starting lineup TBA Wood - won 9-0 (I think this is a friendly reserve game so unsure if there will be much on this)
  16. Real sink or swim moment for Pratt tonight, big lad, good in the air, does have the odd lapse in concentration though, never seen him against anything like a Championship level forward lines so difficult to predict, especially with a makeshift back line/keeper alongside him
  17. You cannot recall players on loan at EFL clubs (eg O'Riordan) until January window opens, Pratt was on loan at non league so that rule did not apply to him
  18. Yes, left footed, so will either play on the left or middle
  19. Pratt & Montgomery start Baradji is not an apparition
  20. U21s lost 2-1 away to Watford in the Premier League Cup. Powell with Rovers goal U18s are away to West Brom in the U18 Premier League Cup tomorrow
