  1. Whilst QPR were absolutely woeful still a very good day. I was particularly pleased to see a number of Broughton's recent signings do so well - these new signings do need a reasonable bit of time to show what they can do.
  2. Almost certainly that will have been the decision of the owners.
  3. It was you who raised the Mowbray issue. I simply stated the facts.
  4. The highlights appeared to be Mcilroy launching in to a 4 letter word tirade on a caddy in the car park, Cantlay protesting over not getting paid for representing his country and Koepka not giving a damn.
  5. How are golfers in a different class to footballers in all aspects ?
  6. The sell on % was 40% so on a profit of £12m Newcastle took £4.8m leaving us with net proceeds of £10.2m
  7. According to the UK accounting standard FRS 102 consideration to post balance sheet events should be made up to the date the accounts are signed on behalf of the board by a director of the company, which was late July ( FRS102.32.2). Maguire ought to have known that.
  8. The accounts were signed by the auditors on 31 July so I think the transfer activity in August is not covered by the statement about post balance sheet activity - which therefore excludes the departures of Kaminski and Phillips and the arrival of the new goalkeeper and striker.
  9. I think discounts on prices for cup games require the agreement of the club we are playing in the cup.
  10. Did anybody query why the anticipated attendance is so low ? The game against Walsall had an attendance of 6,173 and last season's game against Hartlepool had an attendance of 6,841.
  11. Managers will argue that the teams they're putting out are the strongest teams for that particular game, on the grounds that fatigue will reduce the output of the affected players.
  12. The comment - made within 15 minutes or so of his debut - was that he wasn't of the required standard, which seems to be writing him off.
  13. That is correct. On page 11 of this thread one poster - within a short period of the player coming on to the pitch - is telling us he is not up to the required standard.
  14. He's done a good job there. Any reason why he's going ?
  15. I think it's more that in discussing players too soon, some posters - or maybe one in particular - start trying to build a bandwagon that the person seen to be responsible for their signing should be dismissed.
  16. Szmodics is a good example of why rushing to judgement of players is not a good idea. This time last year there were many on here who were saying that we had had our trousers pulled down by Peterborough in signing him; now he is our talisman. Players should be given a fair chance to show their worth.
