If we had proper fans befitting a team in the play off places, we'd hitch hike. Or something. -
Some job Jon Coleman has done there over his two stints. Didn't they achieve something mad like finishing higher in the league 12 years in a row?

Your other half doesn't fancy getting married in North West London by chance, do they?

Sure it used to be Sat in even years and Mon in odd years, changed to consistently Sat a few years back.

Which moment(s) in our history…
GHR replied to wilsdenrover's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
1) I'm too young to remember '95 and too young to have done any of our European tours, so I'll have to stick with Cardiff 2002! 2) Any of our successes up to 1928. I appreciate '95, but I'd love to be able to see Rovers and the game of that era. Healless, Suter, Crompton et al. -
Championship - 3 up / 3 down

I've never subscribed to the Hudds were the bad guys angle. It's a tale as old as time that if you're safe at that time of year then anything and everything happens with the starting XI. Rovers have done it time and time again, as have hundreds of other teams. My best advice would be to not go into the final day of the season depending on favours! -

There's a smattering of good, very traditional pubs at the St Andrews side of Birmingham city centre, however I cannot vouch for what these are like on matchdays. The safest bet is the city centre, but it all depends on what your 'scene' is pub-wise! The best 'old boys discussing ale' pubs is the Wellington, for European stuff but traditional vibe the Post Office Vaults is the one. Modern stuff you have the Head of Steam and North Taproom (ed: name corrected! - Sommar is also very good and similar) by Snow Hill. The Colmore and Good Intent are also well recommended, both brand new-ish with a good atmosphere and array of beer. Also your usual array of Spoons if that more your thing. Of all those I've given, I think the Good Intent (upstairs) is the only one to show live sport. -

Shortest distance the trophy will have travelled between successive winners too isn't it? Hall i' th' Wall to Leamington Street is closer than Anfield to Goodison I believe. -

Superb city is Sheffield, often overlooked as it's not seen as glamorous as the other large Northern cities but it more than holds its own. Excellent array of pubs, proper football grounds and the home of snooker. Can't ask for more from a place really. -

This is aimed at no-one on here as it's a concept rife everywhere in the game these days, but bottle up this feeling for every time someone suggests the Cup is a distraction these days, a throw back to the era of keepers without gloves, Inside Rights and lifting over the turnstiles. It's well over two days off yet and we may come away with nothing to show, but I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve. Absolute fucking dynamite is this competition. -

Sundays tend to be slightly better for it given the trains get out of bed later than they do the other six mornings a week anyway. Mind, the service in question between Liverpool and Sheffield is TPE, who don't have the best of form on Sundays, regardless of what is happening the day before. Given that it is also the train at Warrington and Manchester most Lancs-based Rovers fans getting the train will be using, one does hope it runs! -

Yeah had nothing myself either this past half hour. Ringing is equally fruitless, doesn't even connect. -
Don't forget 'Only extant team to have won the FA Cup three years in a row' too!

I remember being on a train full of Luton fans that were coming back from Burnley earlier this season, and one of the lads on it was doing coke off his keys in broad daylight in front of the entire carriage, having a chat with his mate on the phone about how he couldn't even remember if he'd been let into the ground or not. What a way to spend your free time... All the same these days though, the weekend away fixtures are just wedged with coked up wankers looking for a scrap; that's true whether it be in Lancashire, Tyneside, Devon, Kent or wherever else in between sadly.

Hadn't even thought of this. I wonder how many Rovers fans would be left at the final whistle if this was the case?! -
One thing that annoyed me today was seeing all the comments, social media etc. along the lines of 'Newcastle have done well but United are better'. Didn't realise the black and white stripey team had dropped their suffix.

I do by and large, the problem is I'm reliant on this forum for my Rovers update today and most others. When things are great it's wonderful, now the tide has it's turned into Monty Python's argument clinic. T'was ever thus, see also the transfer threads. -

Fuck me, hopefully Rovers start improving soon so we are spared the utter nonsense on here we get in lieu. Could fit the meaningful chat on this topic so far on a fucking post-it note.
