  1. Ins & outs expected as Mowbray outlines Rovers' transfer plans | Lancashire Telegraph 6-figure sum mooted for Pickering, who has 'PL potential' according to this ^
  2. Rovers looking to secure long-term future of Joe Rothwell | Lancashire Telegraph “Joe Rothwell can be a really talented Premier League footballer I’m pretty sure, but it’s a journey he’s on"

  4. Win this and we're 3 points off the play-offs no matter what happens elsewhere. We know what happens...
  5. 6th spot up for grabs! He who dares, Rodney...
  6. Neil has consistently had to sell his best players. Contrast with Mowbray. You wouldn't know though looking at the league table.
  7. Yeah, I misread it. They want close to the 18k. That figure came from another article I read but can't find it. It's hard to know what our top earners are currently on. Apparently Football Manager is the place to look.
  8. I'm not sure asking for half the wages is taking the piss. Apparently he's on 18k and they want a 9k contribution. Probably explains why we went for Branthwaite instead. Hopefully money is found for permanent signings, but I doubt theyll be on 18k pw if we do sign them. Pickering won't get anywhere near that here.
  9. Rovers transfer latest as Everton & West Brom defenders linked | Lancashire Telegraph Cedric Kipre, a summer transfer target for Rovers, has been mooted as being a possible addition this month, however the Premier League club are expected to warrant the majority of his salary to be covered to give them wiggle room in the market as they battle against the drop. Rovers would only be able to offer up to half of the Ivorian’s Hawthorns salary, which is ruling out any possible move this month, as things stand.
  10. Financial plans. He's hardly going to come and play in the Championship if he's got a couple of years of Prem money left on his contract.
  11. I think Kipre might have other plans considering we couldn't match the wages WBA ended up paying him.
  12. Exactly, which makes our current record of getting Academy graduates in the 1st team even more remarkable. I can only remember the group including Duff, Dunn, Johnson etc being in anyway comparable in terms of numbers going into the first team. We've always produced players since Jack came in and set up Brockhall but a lot of our best youths have ended up in the lower divisions or non-league, and that goes back to the Prem days. The current rate of success of getting youths into the 1st team is incredible, especially as a Championship club. I didn't see enough of them at youth team level to know TBH. I think Travis was played at full-back.
  13. Of all the things to criticise, the Academy is the least deserving. On a good day we'd have 5 or 6 graduates in the first team. Very few teams in the top 4 Divisions can better that. For a Championship side it is an excellent achievement and reflects well on the work done at youth level. The current crop aren't all going to come through together, but Pike, Vale, Carter and Butterworth (if ever fit) look like being the next bunch to break through. Find me another club with that kind of success rate. I find your 'concern' very strange. Some clubs struggle to get more than 1 or 2 Academy graduates in the 1st team.
  14. Mercer's already on his 2nd bottle of the evening.
  15. Is he more of a defender or wing-back type who can cross it and get forward?
  16. "Dan won't feature a while now, unfortunately," said Barr. "But you didn't hear that from me." I don't think Billy will be talking to Crooke for a while.
  17. What did you say? Get yer tweets out for the lads.
  18. I thought Pasha was blocking people on twitter who dared to criticise Mogga? Doesn't quite fit the narrative.
  19. Interesting editorial. I like how they view themselves as the voice of the fans, especially in a season when there are none.
