I'm sure Adam Forshaw is a decent guy but it's an absolutely criminal signing that tells you all you need to know about our CEO and the owners. Even with Travis and Tronstad a bit of money needed spending on the middle of the park. Money also needed spending at centre back. Early in the window. It's cost us points. The issues are glaringly obvious and it's a lack of interest in results by the owners... and the quality of our CEO. He's a plodder, with little ambition and his eyes firmly on his bank account. We might not see another Adam Wharton type transfer again, and when they happen it doesn't get reinvested at all in the squad, lets not pretend it will again on the next one....... so what is the plan? If you're not going to spend a reasonable amount of money on players when a sale like that happens you might as well forget it..... We need answers, Broughton made mistakes but his communication was open, honest and football driven. He had his eyes on reinvesting all of the Raya money. The owners need to go and they can take Waggott with them.

Starved out by the owners

This isn’t just a money issue, it’s a functionality issue too when it’s left in the hands of Waggott. We’ve seen it before, contracts get neglected etc. Smaller clubs that have generated less revenue are operating better than Rovers. Absolutely not what the players or manager deserve. We will never be successful with Suhail, Waggott and Venky’s. They would all have to go.

A few compliments to the group from Waggott makes sense. They aren't impressed and the feeling is it's a captainless ship above Eustace... who's very popular.

Players and the manager are frustrated at the lack of investment in the team. From one of the horses mouths. I won't say who and I doubt that is a shock to most on here...... they are in the dark and it's a similar thing every year. Fadz did his best to act as a messenger. There's little faith in anyone above the manager currently and it does have a psychological impact. 👍

Ha I'm not sure what your point is other than we have terrible owners, which is also the point I'm trying to make, I'd say lazily... but it took quite a bit of time to add up the transfer revenue in. I'm aware there's more to it and that a model like Brentford's takes 5, 10, 15 years depending on owner interest and willingness to spend; largely on things that win football games (players!), we've had that window a few times to know ours aren't interested or willing. If they fail to show up this transfer window...... and they haven't yet, then the focus should be toward a get them out within a year model.

Fully aware but it's irrelevant really since we aren't asking them to spend £37.5m on players. The point is the amount spent on players doesn't correlate and should comfortably be higher. Preston are outspending us regularly and now the likes of Plymouth. Similar situations and nowhere near this level of revenue made through player sales. Our owners are wealthier than most. Lets not make it look any prettier for them, we don't have 14 fans turning up on a match day we have 14,000. The owners are scumbags that are doing the bare minimum and investing next to nothing in players, results and new facilities. Reinvesting player sales is how you get out of this league. The Brentford model that they have no interest in executing.

Embarrassing stuff.

The wild thing is this is now the same conversation every winter and summer so it's no longer guessing, or if it is they are now more educated guesses that are nearly always right, people thinking the opposite (that Venky's will spend) is just blind wishful thinking... and there are now zero trends to support that... even if they did miraculously starting spending and showing some interest... you would not expect it, if you had any sense.

The lack of money being spent and ambition shown is absolutely tragic.

and my point is, if you were to expect anything different this window you might be proved right but you would not be basing those expectations on any facts.

As I've pointed out elsewhere... We've received £37.4m through player sales in a short space of time and are spending spending approx £1.1m per window on incomings. That isn't acceptable for this level and in theory you should be battling to stay up each year. We are 6th largely thanks to the manager and managers are getting let down window after window by the owners.

Until there's an owner willing to sit in that seat wearing a scarf, watching their millions spent on a player in hope potentially go down the drain, things will never change... the club is owned by disinterested scum. That is a fact. They will never prove me wrong.

We're watching largely free transfers or academy players, either start or come off the bench and expecting to win games. Even Tronstad was a free, Weimann, Batth, Dolan, Hedges (borderline free), Forshaw, Buckley, Leonard then Dubbery and Beck (neither ours). There's no investment happening in this team and until there is we'll always keep up the win loss win loss form and never get the playoffs. The owner's are hardly spending a penny on players. The manager however's doing a superb job. VENKY'S OUT!

Personally I'd just use the Gallagher and Ennis money....... then spend the Szmodics..... Raya and Wharton money on some others that are even better........... Oh Venky's.... of course. Forgot. 👀

It's bad really bad. He should sign the deal and concentrate on becoming a better footballer. We gave him an opportunity at a level no one else would have. A top performance by the team from 60 minutes onwards. Thought Brittain was outstanding throughout.
