  1. Thought it was a superb finish from Hirst.
  2. The frustration is coming from the multiple step overs and twirls without ever really getting anywhere. It looks a complete waste of energy and stood out on the day as a total contrast to Girona's wingers who were so simply effective with their directness and pace. He also uses his teammates runs as a decoy too often without gaining much ground himself... leaving them equally frustrated. Overall he's a frustrating watch and I'd imagine at times frustrating to play with. I think you can guess the word I'd use to best describe Dolan... Sh*t
  3. I enjoyed it, he moved the ball quickly, neat and tidy passing forward and likes to win it back. Better on the ball than Travis. I could see him and Travis sitting deeper in behind Wharton being a useful trio but possibly not what we have in mind...
  4. https://rezzil.com/ The company responsible, based in Manchester.
  5. For me it's... Thin Lizzy - The Boys Are Back In Town and Tina Turner - The Best
  6. Really glad we don't have to watch players like this anymore... and it all comes down to who's in charge. A decent manager would have recognised Duffy shouldn't have been anywhere near the team that day.
  7. It's an unusual choice of sponsor for any sports team and I thought it would be temporary. The CEO doesn't come out of this well once again, since it completely exposes the no betting and no gambling moral high ground as purely a commercial move likely aimed at the muslim community. The impression I get about Waggott is... predictable twirp with little footballing morals.
  8. Hope that's true! Wanted a black away kit for years.
  9. The issue is contribution vs salary, Dack and Ayala don't justify it and you can probably add Gallagher to that group too, he was likely brought in as a high earner on the basis of scoring 10 or 15 goals a season but his main use is running and defending corners. You don't pay 15k a week for that from a centre forward. It would be sensible to try and move him on... but difficult to do so.
  10. Stupid of Dolan to not go down, he could have easily had Cork sent off and it would have been the correct decision but the ref should have had the balls to dismiss him regardless, likewise the linesman has to see the handball. There is a real issue at this level and as someone posted above it hasn't evened itself out, officials have cost us some huge points recently regardless of player performance, team selection etc. Rovers did well last night but we've too many average players Dolan, Gallagher, Travis and Pickering to name a few. For example Travis, Morton and Pickering start almost every game and simply aren't good enough if you're looking to go up. JDT has done well with what he has and there are a good few players I'd be trying to get rid of but we are relying too much on the officials because of our inability to put the ball in the net. Whoever's offered Brereton a contract should cancel it, he looks lost at Championship level at the minute, I don't think you ever could have said that about Benrahma, Bowen or Watkins at 24. He's a lucky boy to be getting a big money move and certainly hasn't earned it with us this season. I'm looking forward to a clear out of players in the summer and to see who we sign. One thing Burnley do not have, amid their mass of big money Championship players, loans and questionable work permits is a player like Adam Wharton. He's going to be a joy to watch. I thought Burnley's performance was pretty bad last night considering the money they've spent. We looked classier on the ball and are 8th. Next season's PL should be fun viewing!
  11. I mean it's clearly a huge mistake, play that ball in 10 times over and he isn't doing it again. An easy cross to turn behind for a corner or straight out for a throw. He had a great game but that was a howler.
  12. That own goal is absolutely shambolic from Hyam. Silly from Hedges but his chip shouldn't have cost us 2 points.
  13. Who is even offering him a contract right now? Villarreal must be reassessing... unless they're short on cash for proper signings. Would Rovers even offer him the same big wages? He's been crap for a long time.
  14. We'll get just enough points to miss out on the playoffs, simple as that.
  15. Unfortunately the manager hasn't played him enough this season for me to be able to see a weakness, which is an absolute travesty when you think we've had to watch so much of Morton. We can't afford to not play talent like his while we have it.
  16. It's the fact there's no judgement call, he isn't intentionally letting it bounce because he knows he can take it in his stride and score. The pass is perfect before the bounce, and he attempts to stretch for it as if he wanted to control it. The chance to control it was as it landed, before the bounce... or you're running onto it like you say. His legs look heavy and he seems to miss time just about everything, every game. I've given up on him, not justifying his wage and for that reason we'll struggle to move him on anywhere for a fee. He'll leave for free at the end of his contract next year.
  17. Why did Gallagher let a perfect ball over the top bounce? How perfect does a pass need to be for him to do something in front of goal? In fact I'm starting to think such a pass doesn't exist 🤯
  18. Diaz and Gallagher aren't even getting any chances to miss, pointless them being on the pitch at he minute. Both have poor feet too. Good luck to Villareal, he is looking a dud. Travis is being asked to do things he doesn't have the quality to do and is finding himself in positions up the pitch he isn't comfortable in. JDT not quite getting it right at the minute with his tactics, starting XI and subs. A lot of games recently could and should have been changed at half time or just after. We didn't control the game in the middle of the pitch today, or far enough up it and that's due to a lack of bodies in midfield and a hiding Tyler Morton. Why have so little in there and a bunch of out of form forwards still on the pitch?!? It does NOT work with Morton and Travis, or what is essentially often Morton on his own in the middle not wanting the ball. It's another game where we didn't need Gallagher, Travis, Brereton or a misfiring Dolan on the pitch for so long! Hull were crap, had players missing and were there for the taking. It's a terrible result. We gifted them a point with another bad setup at home. Admittedly the manager doesn't have a lot to work with but he isn't making brave calls and we're bottling it. Wharton, Hedges and Thomas on earlier or a change of shape when the game was still open and I'm confident we'd have won it.
  19. Some absolutely terrible performances today, most noticeably Carter, Hyam, Gallagher, Hedges, Brereton, Morton and the manager. Other observations are Rankin-Costello is painfully slow, as is Pickering. Brittain would have been a better choice at right back with Norwich having a decent amount of pace. We had the players to change it today but the manager clearly has an issue with some and isn't brave enough with his changes or the timing of them. 2 subs could have been made at half time and 5 minutes after the break it was clear the performance wasn't going to change but it takes either a second goal or 70 minutes+ for one to be made, and by then it's always less likely to have an impact or the game's already gone. A few players knew they were having a bad day; Hedges, Carter, Morton all fortunate to stay on for the second half and one very fortunate to start... So lets talk about him, Tyler Morton... He's been costing us points since the season began, is soft in the air and soft in the tackle, doesn't sprint, doesn't want the ball, is loose with his passing and influences more goals against than for. I also feel the need to call out Brereton who's not putting the kind of shift in he was at the start of the season. Morton needs to drop out of the team immediately and Brereton needs to sort his sh*t out, if those two things happen and Adam Wharton steps up, we might have a chance. Gallagher feels like a lost cause. The first XI needs a shake up... I'd bring in Kaminski, Brittain and Adam Wharton for Huddersfield with JRC, Pears and Morton dropping to the bench. We don't have enough to go up through the play-offs, thanks to another Venky failed January transfer window but we can't miss out on a spot to Preston either way. Time to get it right this summer, sell Gallagher, lose Brereton, Dack and Ayala, and bring in 5 or 6 new faces.
  20. I'd keep Dack if he's willing to take a pay cut, if not.. move him on. We know the answer to that and I'm sure the club are thinking similarly. He'll be gone in summer IMO.
  21. Hi all, I wanted to check to see if anyone knows how Sheffield United reached an agreement with the EFL whereby if their player already has a yellow card they can't receive another card (of any colour) in the same game, no matter how bad their next tackle is? Seems a really useful agreement to have... that along with the one they have in place where they can do whatever they want in the transfer market without any real consequences and a possible promotion? Did they reach this agreement with the same EFL that wanted to know what happens, if we get promoted, sign a player, then get relegated 3 times, what happens to that player in 4 years time? Thanks in advance
  22. Anyone know what the story is with Dilan Markanday at Aberdeen? I'm seeing 1 appearance! 😳
  23. Having seen the highlights back, Pickering and Hyam are marking the same man on every cross. Sometimes Carter, Pickering and Hyam are marking just one Stoke attacker in the middle, leaving their wingback and the fullback area completely open / in the hands of Dolan. A bizarre setup, essentially wasting at least one or two defenders. The fullbacks have got to track the runners if there is only one striker in the box, instead they're all heading for the same ball. Pickering could have been used to prevent both goals in the first half but was probably doing what had been asked - doubling up on Campbell or Gayle - if he wasn't asked to do this then he should be dropped next game. An unnecessarily complicated and costly tactic that encouraged two defenders to go for the same ball often. Why are we having 3 defenders defend the same area where there is less of a threat, with 4 defenders on the pitch we could have easily adjusted to how Stoke were attacking. It looks like zonal marking but of the wrong zones. Dolan didn't even need to be involved if the defenders were covering the right area and because he was replied upon so heavily defensively, we lost. A terrible performance on and off the pitch.
  24. Absolutely, we've got to start selling underperforming players IF we can fool someone into paying 7 figures.
