  1. Some absolutely terrible performances today, most noticeably Carter, Hyam, Gallagher, Hedges, Brereton, Morton and the manager. Other observations are Rankin-Costello is painfully slow, as is Pickering. Brittain would have been a better choice at right back with Norwich having a decent amount of pace. We had the players to change it today but the manager clearly has an issue with some and isn't brave enough with his changes or the timing of them. 2 subs could have been made at half time and 5 minutes after the break it was clear the performance wasn't going to change but it takes either a second goal or 70 minutes+ for one to be made, and by then it's always less likely to have an impact or the game's already gone. A few players knew they were having a bad day; Hedges, Carter, Morton all fortunate to stay on for the second half and one very fortunate to start... So lets talk about him, Tyler Morton... He's been costing us points since the season began, is soft in the air and soft in the tackle, doesn't sprint, doesn't want the ball, is loose with his passing and influences more goals against than for. I also feel the need to call out Brereton who's not putting the kind of shift in he was at the start of the season. Morton needs to drop out of the team immediately and Brereton needs to sort his sh*t out, if those two things happen and Adam Wharton steps up, we might have a chance. Gallagher feels like a lost cause. The first XI needs a shake up... I'd bring in Kaminski, Brittain and Adam Wharton for Huddersfield with JRC, Pears and Morton dropping to the bench. We don't have enough to go up through the play-offs, thanks to another Venky failed January transfer window but we can't miss out on a spot to Preston either way. Time to get it right this summer, sell Gallagher, lose Brereton, Dack and Ayala, and bring in 5 or 6 new faces.
  2. I'd keep Dack if he's willing to take a pay cut, if not.. move him on. We know the answer to that and I'm sure the club are thinking similarly. He'll be gone in summer IMO.
  3. Hi all, I wanted to check to see if anyone knows how Sheffield United reached an agreement with the EFL whereby if their player already has a yellow card they can't receive another card (of any colour) in the same game, no matter how bad their next tackle is? Seems a really useful agreement to have... that along with the one they have in place where they can do whatever they want in the transfer market without any real consequences and a possible promotion? Did they reach this agreement with the same EFL that wanted to know what happens, if we get promoted, sign a player, then get relegated 3 times, what happens to that player in 4 years time? Thanks in advance
  4. Anyone know what the story is with Dilan Markanday at Aberdeen? I'm seeing 1 appearance! 😳
  5. Having seen the highlights back, Pickering and Hyam are marking the same man on every cross. Sometimes Carter, Pickering and Hyam are marking just one Stoke attacker in the middle, leaving their wingback and the fullback area completely open / in the hands of Dolan. A bizarre setup, essentially wasting at least one or two defenders. The fullbacks have got to track the runners if there is only one striker in the box, instead they're all heading for the same ball. Pickering could have been used to prevent both goals in the first half but was probably doing what had been asked - doubling up on Campbell or Gayle - if he wasn't asked to do this then he should be dropped next game. An unnecessarily complicated and costly tactic that encouraged two defenders to go for the same ball often. Why are we having 3 defenders defend the same area where there is less of a threat, with 4 defenders on the pitch we could have easily adjusted to how Stoke were attacking. It looks like zonal marking but of the wrong zones. Dolan didn't even need to be involved if the defenders were covering the right area and because he was replied upon so heavily defensively, we lost. A terrible performance on and off the pitch.
  6. Absolutely, we've got to start selling underperforming players IF we can fool someone into paying 7 figures.
  7. Two player's I'd be cashing in on in summer are John Buckley and Gallagher, if there are any 7 figure offers... sell! Gallagher, Ayala and Dack off the books would make the wage budget a lot healthier and there is potential for Buckley and Gallagher to generate a few million. Rovers have got to start selling the more inconsistent players that we might get a fee for. Ayala, Dack, Diaz, Morton, Mola and Thomas are the definites off the wages in summer and I wouldn't be against adding Gallagher and Buckley to that if there is money to be had. Some cash from a Brentfod Raya sale and possibly Ash Phillips, I think there is reason to be positive about a full summer under Tomasson IF he stays... and that's a big if!
  8. Gallagher's touch was an embarrassment tonight, I'm not sure what level he was at but it wasn't professional. Every pass, touch and turn he attempted was heavy, his performance in particular was painful to watch... along with Buckley, Travis, Pickering, Carter, Hyam, Rankin-Costello and Thomas. I felt the manager was largely to blame for Dolan's bad night, a defender should have been responsible for tracking Hoever, particularly after the first goal! We had a similar issue for spells against Sheffield Utd, Max Lowe their LWB was left completely unmarked multiple times but they did't get the pass right.
  9. I think we were all a bit uncomfortable about Waggott keeping his job last season when Mowbray left... and here we are. Cronyism and incompetence still behind the scenes. There are a few pieces to the puzzle that need replacing before this club can truly go somewhere. We did half the job last year and it has cost us. Thankfully the team is doing well on the field and the manager is now working wonders. A new CEO and a new pitch at Ewood, and I'll start to believe the owners are interested.
  10. Read through it, absolutely unacceptable and a farce if no one loses their job over this. I would can Waggott and Sylvester off the back of this, immediately.
  11. I mean you would definitely chant Jon Dahl's blue and white army. It flows if pronounced correctly... YON DAHLS BLUE WHITE ARMY Missing a trick.
  12. This is absolutely farcical by all involved. It should not be allowed to go on this long but if there's a sniff Rovers can sue for damages and there probably is, I'd go at them guns blazing.
  13. A good few things need to happen at this club, one is a long overdue proper investment in the pitch without cutting any corners and another is to sack Steve Waggott.
  14. Not making excuses for the club at all but you could throw into the mix that any player unsure about who they want to play for on the morning of deadline day is partly to blame if a deal doesn't go through on time, particularly when that club has been interested for weeks. Why are you hanging around waiting on one club that's under a transfer embargo! Deadline Day signings are always better if they're a surprise extra, not absolutely necessary to recover your window. Long story short, we left it too late as usual and got royally found out but it's also uncovered some major problems. Like Broughton said the club will have learned a lot, or you'd at least like to think so for once! Either way someone has to lose their job over this and I'd rather it's not Broughton. That's your cue Steve W and take whoever didn't file it on time with you.
  15. If the business isn't functioning correctly (and we can't pretend that it is) who's responsibility is that? It's certainly someone's at the top. I do not think this is on Broughton at all but good to see him step up, communicate and clearly take all of the flak publicly for what is likely someone else's error. Fair play to him. It's being owned as a major f*ck up by the club and will take some recovering internally, and with the fans. I like Broughton... he's clearly an intelligent guy and the kind of person we must have around the place for the future. He's bound to have inherited some incompetent colleagues and change is needed. JDT and Broughton coming in didn't quite feel like enough at the time and it has proved to be the case. The senior management team needs fixing, personnel (and processes) but Broughton seems to me like one of the best we've had in years. We must get rid of the dinosaurs around him.
  16. Walk out/ walk in protests, wearing t shirts etc is a waste of time. Everton got noticed, banners in the ground and make yourself heard. "Waggot out!" and "sack the board!" We need it in writing inside the ground for everyone around the club and the SKY/ ITV cameras to see for the remainder of the season. They need to read and hear exactly what we think of their performance and prices. Do we trust this man handling the sale of Brockhall for housing and building a "state of the art" training facility that will take the club forward? That is what he will be heading up next. I'm happy to chip in and help a protest against this board. A bring back John Williams banner might hit home.
  17. It's different because deadline day is so well reported that for the first time every single Rovers fan received a minute-by-minute insight into the incompetency still at Ewood. We felt every minute. There was absolutely no hiding from it, no matter how many times they had to rehash the club statement. Deadline Day was almost a timelapse of the past 13 years, slight hope ruined by the realisation that your club is riddled with incompetence. This all stems from terrible ownership and the result this season couldn't be any clearer, the senior management team has derailed any promotion bid, hiked season ticket prices and lowered attendances. It's that simple. If the people involved in this aren't fired there's not a chance I'll renew my seats next year.
  18. Not having it. Again get rid of the chumps involved immediately... Every matchday is a chance for supporters to turn up and try to fix this club. This board has to go!
  19. They can have my seats back at the end of this season that's for sure.
  20. Venky's should put that chart on their wall. Some achievement losing so many thousands of fans!
  21. Venky’s won’t know a thing or when the next game is, or care.
  22. Yet half the fans won't have it and think we need this setup. We are a club that should be protesting against it's board and owners but the reality is we do absolutely nothing.
