  1. Very obvious from early season performances that Dolan should have been used more this season. Not solely relied upon but certainly given more than 15 minutes here and there.
  2. Gallagher was doing the right thing in trying to clear the danger and many refs would have ignored that kind of contact since it still created a chance. The player didn't take it in his stride and get upended by a missed clearance. He stretched to get there, forced contact and went down like he'd broken his ankle, completely bought a penalty imo. The ref was conned.
  3. Well that should get Tony a 4 year contract extension.
  4. Can't be nice heading into Millwall away needing 3 points to save your job: Thankfully Tony doesn't have to worry about that.
  5. I miss the days when you could sing "sacked in the morning!" and the manager actually did get sacked in the morning.
  6. again this wouldn't have been allowed to happen at ANY other club in this league.
  7. Every single team in the league is looking "sharper" than us and starting each half better regardless of their ability. Even Doncaster in the cup. Some quotes from Mowbray over the past 3 months sum things up pretty nicely. "Didn't do the basics" "Fell short today" "Played in the wrong positions" "Can't play this bad an expect to win any football match" "We didn't make the right decisions" "We lacked intent today" "We conceded really poor goals" "We need to be better". "We were way off where we can be". "We couldn't find a way through" "Lapses in concentration let us down". "Individuals didn't do their job". "We gave them a goal". "They didn't have to work for it". "Nobody reacted, the ball went in." "We made it hard for ourselves" Unfortunately these are the results he's producing game after game after game. I'm absolutely sick of it.
  8. Preston, QPR, Barnsley and Forest were hugely important games. You could see that when looking ahead at the fixtures. I truly believe every other club in the league if they were in our position would have fired their manager for losing all of those.
  9. It's simple really, to keep your job as a manger if the results aren't there, then the performances have to be and vice versa. If the results and performances aren't there for a sustained period then you get fired. This has highlighted something that is still a major problem at the club and has been since Venky's arrived: Knowledgable footballing people with the club and fans' best interest at heart are not in charge. They haven't been since the February 2011.
  10. I struggle to call borrowing other teams players "great" signings. His signings have been very hit and miss, or completely non existent in areas. The main problem is he can't get the best out of them.
  11. Unfortunately this is about to end sourly for a man that did some great work for Rovers. He should have been fired before now. It's become very uncomfortable.
  12. Looking like Tony might scrape another victory on the possession front tonight. I wonder if he’s had a trophy made for the end of the season?
  13. We have one of the worst managers in the league. Absolutely no surprises here. The signs were there since October. What it has done is highlight the ownership issues the club has yet again. A corner I'd hoped we'd turned but seemingly not. I don't know where we go from here. Thankfully some high earners contracts are up in the summer which simply has to free up some smaller permanent transfers to be done, ideally by a manager that can put a defence together. It's going to be another case of 5 - 6 signings needed simply to achieve mid-table. Unless Venky's plan to spend millions (???) In my opinion we'll have even less chance of promotion next year which makes this season completely unforgivable. It has been a disaster from the playing surface to the dugout. Whoever is responsible for the pitch to become like it has and for the current manager still being here is completely to blame. You get out what you put in and unfortunately with Rovers corners are constantly cut. You can't fluke your way to promotion with the help of Premier League clubs that are doing it properly, you have to do it all properly yourself.
  14. That's Bristol City and Cardiff both finishing above us.
  15. Blaming Nyambe's injury on outside pressure is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard from a Rovers manager. He shouldn't have been in charge today.
  16. Another 3 points on Mowbray's possession board. Looking really comfortable for him now up there.
  17. So, we haven't played well, the results haven't been good enough but the possession stats are. Imagine expecting to keep your job because of that. How about you publicly accept the performances haven't been anywhere near the required standard, bollock the players and demand more from them... and yourself!
  18. How can you turn to stats when we haven't played well since October? 🤣
  19. Won't be watching sadly due to the manager. Didn't watch Wednesday's mess either. As a fan I'm perfectly happy to watch us lose games we are expected to lose. I'm not happy to watch players underperform with a passive manager on the sideline, like we have done since October.
  20. What about the win at home to Millwall? The last minute goal from Armstrong. Millwall could have easily won that game 4-1. It was an appalling performance, December 2 and a win. I couldn't believe we won it. The previous game was Barnsley, we won 2-1 here is a quote from the site's match report Nov 28 "Although Rovers weren't at the races in the first half". He cannot get the best out of any squad, regardless of its quality. We have been underperforming since November. The manager is simply crap, nice enough guy but absolutely terrible. He's making some of the most promising kids in the country look substandard. Last season other clubs were envious of our squad, pundits admired the options and it was significantly better this year. How he hasn't been fired already is beyond me. As Nixon says he's well protected and the fans not being in the ground is helping him cover up some horrendous games of football. Somebody higher up needs to intervene this week.
  21. Gallagher is a useful sub that needs selling when the opportunity arises. Any top 6 side in the division would see that. We're talking about him so much because Mowbray has been picking the wrong team for months now. If he starts scoring in games off the bench as a centre forward, then give him the occasional start in the role. If not, he can continue to work on improving his first touch in the reserves.
  22. It's a dangerous game when your manager hires your CEO. A change should have been made in December, most fans could see it then and the season might have even been turned around. Mowbray isn't the only person that needs to go.
