  1. The point, Chaddy, is that there is massive financial discrepancy between the PL clubs and the rest of the football pyramid. That's why beneath the PL and the parachute payment clubs, football in England is in such a financial mess, If you don't see, understand, or agree with this, that's your perogative. But when at the same time you're rubbishing the Euro Super League, which was set up for the sole purpose of financially rewarding the supposed 'elite' clubs don't forget, then I find your viewpoint rather hypocritical.
  2. In spite of it being an enjoyable game, the atmosphere was non-existent, compounded by the decision to shut the BBE and effectively split up our 'singers'. Fair play to the 200 or so Cardiff fans, who made a good effort I thought.
  3. I really enjoyed it last night, it was a very entertaining game of football from both sides I thought. Moran, Sigursson and Markanday were all very good. On the not so good...to put it politely, Telavonic is best described as 'wooden' going off last night's showing,
  4. I'm sure that the billboard sponsor over the Riverside half way line at the last game was The Footy Curry. Fair play to them, but I can't imagine that brings in much dosh.
  5. For a supposed e-commerce operation, what an absolute shambles. The outage must be for non-technical reasons. Waggot, just go. You're done.
  6. Anyone else get the feeling that things are conspiring against us? Hedges is IMO a poor player, but he's another body down in addition to Ennis & Gallagher, meaning that we're even more reliant on the likes of Dolan. We could well be looking over our shoulders in a couple of games.
  7. As otherrs have suggested, it would be very interesting to see from the club exactly what they expect these cost savings to be, and how the numbers were derived. It;s all a smoke screen IMO.
  8. And by comparison, how much did non-parachute receiving clubs get over the same period? That's the point.
  9. The bottom 3 have not won a game in 16, and have amassed the grand total of 3 points.
  10. The main reason why the PL is so boring/uncompetitive and why the rest of the English football pyramid is, in comparison, in such a shit shape, is primarly due to the fact that the top PL teams retain the bulk of the commercial income. And the reason why the 12 or so original member of the ESL publically promoted it in the first place, was because they wanted to retain the bulk of the financial income from that. It's all about the same thing; greed. The ESL only failed - for now at least - due to public backlash. Without doubt, those clubs who subsequently publically distanced themselves from it (City, Liverpool et al), will still be keeping a watching brief and having closed door conversations with the 3 clubs you mention. The motives of the top PL teams and the motives of the ESL clubs are one and the same - greed at the expense of the wider football world. It's hypocritcal to state that the top PL teams should retain the bulk of the PL money, but to then to criticise the ESL for the same thing.
  11. Looking at the seat planner on the club website, tickets are available to purchase in all 4 sections of the JW Cardiff fans will, therefore, be housed in the DE as usual. To be clear then....Waggot is alienating BBE supporters for supposed 'financial' reasons, but is not taking the same approach for Cardiff supporters who, as has been pointed out, could easily be accomodated in the JW lower DE. Waggott is an utter disgrace.
  12. I don't think Wharton is lazy, as such. Rather, he doesn't have the engine to do what's being asked of him.
  13. The hypocrisy of, on one hand, suggesting that PL clubs should not redistribute their wealth, but, on the other hand, being vehemently against the Euro Super League....
  14. Tomasson picks Dolan because it's been a toss up between him, Hedges and Markanday. ie not much choice at all.
  15. He's what, 27 or 28 years old? At that age, and with all the shortcomings you highlight, then I'm afrraid he will remain what he is; a bang average journeyman. He hardly ever creates, hardly ever scores, and doesn't take responsibility with the ball.
  16. The guy just cares about one thing, and that is defnitely not what the supporters think or want.
  17. Play like we did in te second half last night, and we'll be on for some real pastings. This could be one of them.
  18. It's games like that where I start to waver over Tomasson's tactics and his folly 'I'd rather win 5-2' comment or whatever he said.. Yes, we should have 2 up after 20 minutes, but when it's not going in, you need a Plan B to find a way of grinding out results. He doesn't seem to see this. Tomasson can only play the players he has his disposal though, and when you see the name of Hedges in the starting 11, and Dolan/Makanday on the bench, you know the cards are stacked against. The squad last night showed up the disastrous transfer window. On the subject of Dolan and Hedges, I'm sick of seeing these two in particular on the pitch. Dolan, as described by another poster, is a 'busted flush'. His one redeeming quality - of being able to effectively press and harry - is long gone. We're left with a player who has no ability to do anything constructive. As for Hedges, I can't recall a more non-descript player. He takes absolutely no responsibility. Whereever he is on the pitch, his immediate thought is to make a simple pass and make the ball someone else's problem. As a supposed senior player, if we're ever in a position where it's a backs-to-the-wall job, then God help us when we have the likes of him.
  19. Out of interest, Girona have made an excellent start to the La Liga season. They're up to 3rd, level on 13 points with Barca, winning 4 out of 5.
  20. To increase profits or minimise losses, you increase revenue and/or cut costs. Waggott always takes the easy option. Everything he does is on the cheap.
  21. It's looking like he's going to be a crock. Exactly what we don't need.
  22. We could well see a smaller gate for Cardiff than we did for Walsall. It wouldn't surprise me if BBE based supporters just think 'F'k it, I'm nor sitting in the JW' and don't bother going. Instead of building upon what was a good gate against Walsall, and on the success of our run last season, Waggott decides to go the other way.
  23. No mistake. On the online ticket planner thing, only the JW is available.
  24. Closing the BBE for a competitive first team game - presumably to save a few quid - is a disgrace.
