  1. I'm extremely disappointed we lost two points. Yes Pompey were the better side but we twice had the lead and let it slip. As for Bellamy, yet another awesome performance. His goals were absolutely brillianr.
  2. Lawrenson's predictions this week are pretty run of the mill. As soon as he gets to us all logic goes out the window. We're higher than Wigan in the table, we beat them last time out and we haven't lost a home game in God knows how long; yet he predicts that they'll beat us. What an idiot.
  3. I just laughed out loud in work. Right outside the office of one of the partners. Anyway, brilliant stuff.
  4. My memories from Gazza'a brief sojourn at the lat World Cup: 'Terri Sheridham'-Teddy Sheringham? 'Terencegay'-Trezeguet? 'Ah thin e bottled it me'-I think he lost his nerve? Soon after he was off-out and about the UK, paddling in the fountain outside Buckingham Palace and so on.
  5. Rodney Marsh. A complete tool, he is utterly unaware of how others regard him. Lawrenson knows his football (apart from Rovers) but he is an insufferable fool. He takes him self more seriously every week. His general demeanour is one of indifference, smugness and self-satisfaction. W@nker. Alan Smith was a good player. But he is a truly shocking pundit. One of hs main problems is that nobody can understand a word he's saying. He could be spouting Shakespeare in his brummie accent and he'd still sound like a retard. Ian Wright doesn't even count.
  6. Excellent news about God Of War II. It'll be on the PS2 not PS3.
  7. Another good result in a string of impressive scores. We might just sneak that CL spot.
  8. We could easily continue our bizarre pattern of gifting players and teams their 'firsts' of the season. Sunderland haven't won at home all season, Stead hasn't scored all season. This could turn into a complete friggin nightmare. On the other hand, this current Sunderland team is the worst side ever to have played in the Premier League. We should absolutely slaughter them.
  9. I don't know if it's already been suggested but I would very much like to see Pedro Mendes in a Rovers shirt. I've only ever been impressed with him whether it be for Spurs or Pompey. If Portsmouth go down then he could prove difficult to hold on to. He's technically sound, he has a good engine, he's efficient in possession and clearly is capable of shooting from distance.
  10. I watched the highlights last night on Sky. We were pretty poor at the back (I'm not quite sure how Viduka managed to score) but we showed brilliant character to haul ourselves back into the game. Bellamy's finishes were top class. He's on fire at the moment and the main reason for our elevated status. Indeed his general play and contribution to the team is excellent. Good win.
  11. No idea how we escaped from that with three points. Villa should have had three goals in the first 10 minutes. Our defence was all over the place-very disappointing.
  12. I was very impressed with Bentley today. In fact I've been struck by his ability in recent games. Notwithstanding his performance against United, his general play is very neat and tidy. He rarely loses possession, he has extremely good technical ability and his vision and passing range are excellent. Bentley appears to be expending very little effort in a game but covers a surprising amount of ground. He doesn't actually ever run with the ball, instead shuffling along and never wasting more than two or three touches. He also plays with his head up unlike the chronically wasteful Emerton (who had yet another mixed display today). All these things are the hallmarks of very good players. His 'softly softly' approach compliments the power of Reid and the, er...'enthusiasm' of Savage. While the above is a rather cloying opinion of the guy, he obviously has to improve much of his game (his penchant for drifting in and out of matches for example). However as a replacement for Tugay, there are a lot of less talented/more expensive options than Bentley.
  13. We surrendered the midfield to Spurs as soon as we drew level. After our domination of the game, they don't even need to work for the three points. Gutted.
  14. I watched the extended highlights on Sky. We we were brilliant. Bellamy in particular was simply outstanding.
  15. Arsenal really are pathetic. Thanks for the three points. We move up to fifth, European football beckons.
  16. Messi's an awesome talent. He and Riquelme will form a frightening partnership in the summer. The prodigiously talented Giuly can't get a look in a the Nou Camp due to this kid's presence. Superstar in the making.
  17. According to the Sunderland fan in Philip's link: Cheeky sh*t. Crap enough to dispense with your dreary lot mind.
  18. Good win. Bellamy's second was quality.
  19. True to form. Pathetic.
  20. Brilliant stuff from Fergie. Seemingly we should have allowed the game to flow, thus playing to United's strengths and giving Rooney and Ronaldo the time and space to run riot... What a tosser.
  21. Brilliant result. I really doesn't get sweeter than this. Bentley will never score two easier goals. His third however was an absolute peach. Fergie's post match comments were indicative of the delusion that is so prevalent at United. He totally refused to credit us, instead blaming our 'constant fouling'. He also wasn't happy with a frankly disgraceful amount of injury time (6 mins) 'it should have been 26' and stated he was unable to disagree with our negative reputation. Anyway, LANGUAGE!! him. 3 points.
  22. Undone by a lack of firepower. Every other side in the league (except Sunderland) is prepared to splash out for a quality striker. I know Bellamy was brought in and when fit he's good. However our severe lack of firepower is costing us results that we should otherwise be picking up.
  23. Fair enough. I'm only 22 though so I'll just have to take your word for it.
  24. We were floored by United's needless second goal. Tugay was once again culpable. I could never see us getting a second goal against United's massed ranks. Kuqi played his worst game in a Rovers shirt. Not once did he control the ball, pass accurately or make anything of openings that he had. The delayed shot in the first half, and the failure to release Bentley soon after Saha's goal are just examples of his abject performance. He is without doubt the worst footballer I have ever seen in our colours. Horrific.
