  1. That was the crucial mistake. Most of our attacking creativity went out the door with him.
  2. Even the dogs in the street know what they are like. Nobody in pro football can make the excuse that they didn’t know the Chicken Chokers were out and out liars.
  3. Do remember when we sold Ken Knighton ? Selling Wharton was a similar moment. That was when we threw in our hand.
  4. I didn’t see tonight’s game. What worries me is we’re try to play a Big Sam type game with JDT type players. The problem is we have no alternative at the moment.
  5. Gallagher , what a sick note. He must get injured pulling his shorts on.
  6. My last suit was a dark navy blue with a fine green pin stripe. Nice but I never wear it now. It’s in the wardrobe along with my forty silk ties. Off the peg, not made to measure, it’s not the same.
  7. Nah, solid colours. I don’t think they did a pin stripe mohair. I did have a really nice pin stripe blazer at the time though. It was a bit “ Small Faces “ style
  8. I think it’s becoming clear that it wasn’t a happy camp at Ewood. For whatever reason, I don’t really know. Players who weren’t getting picked were never happy in the past, but with massive benches these days most players get some game time. I’ve seen enough relegation “ battles “ at Rovers to feel we were going down under JDT. Not much was working and the feeling of Rovers being a “ Zombie “ club had emerged again. The new guy may keep us up, he may not, but to judge him now after the really difficult start he’s had is ridiculous. I say “ battles “ because we don’t do battles normally, we just go down.
  9. The Walker Brothers - No Regrets Mrs Shoelaces is a long time Scott Walker fan. She’s out in Cincinnati at the moment so she went on a pilgrimage to his old house on Wednesday !
  10. Not really, tight trousers and very fine material probably.
  11. It was a strange programme. At one point he had a “ mod-ish “ haircut and at another point he had flowing locks a la Tim Sherwood. I used to get my suits made by “ Mr Senior “ in Rochdale. A great tailor. When the postcard dropped through the letter box telling me to go for another fitting my mum would go mad - “ not another bloody suit, I don’t know where you get your money from ! “ I always had two pairs of trousers made with the jackets, the lightweight cloth wore out between the legs easily. I’m not bragging.
  12. I can see him being a big success up there.
  13. The Crickets - More Than I Can Say
  14. He’s got a very nice line in suits. It reminded me of my hand made mohair suit days.
  15. The Four Seasons - Walk Like A Man
  16. Ron Holden And The Thunderbirds - Love You So
  17. Not a gig as such but Bradley Wiggins has a programme about Mod culture on Sky Arts tonight at 10-30. It was quite interesting examination of what it meant/means to be a Mod.He finished with a short interview with Paul Weller that got a bit sticky at times.
  18. He certainly looked a real player going off tonight’s showing.
  19. Pass of the night. He’s such a funny player Lukaku. Some games you don’t know he’s playing and some games he’s a real threat.
  20. Doris Troy - I’ll Do Anything
  21. Procol Harum - Whiter Shade Of Pale The sound of the summer of ‘67. I’ve had a bit of IT training so prepared to be bored with old videos.
  22. The Contours - First I Look At The Purse
  23. Looks like Rochdale have been rescued by a knight in shining armour. Local millionaire/billionaire Sir Peter Ogden is set to take over. Then we hear - “ Who’d be interested in Rovers ? “
  24. Neither was Siggy as far as I could see.
