  1. What game is Leonard’s game Chaddy ? I’m at a loss to see what he brings to the table.
  2. I’m with you on the “ excitement quotient “ on display yesterday. I find our lack of a cutting edge extremely frustrating to watch. The short passing around the edge of the box that inevitably breaks down when a defender just has to get a foot in gets old pretty quickly. The constantly playing in front of teams and rarely pulling them out of shape is hard to watch. Plus I find the fact that once we go behind the ref could blow up for full time right away is soul destroying. I wonder if I ever would have become a fan if this was what football was like when I first started watching years ago. I also wonder how many “ stay aways “ will have been enthused enough to come back for more after yesterday. Not many I suspect. Nothing I saw yesterday made me think “ Let’s try and get a ticket for the Huddersfield game “. Win your home games and attendances will rise. Lose most of them and attendances will fall. It doesn’t really matter what you do away from home. That’s how football works I’m afraid.
  3. Nail hit firmly on the head. Players have come and gone, managers have come and gone, behind the scenes jobsworths have come and gone. The same malaise/lack of fighting spirit/ weak mentality remains. The one factor that has been at the club in all that time is the “ owners “.

  5. We dominated the first half, they dominated the second half. We were walking at the end, our legs had gone. Once they equalised quite a few people around me got up and left. I expect they knew what was coming. I said to my grandson at halftime. “ If we’re going to get anything out of this game we’re going to have to score again “.
  6. How bad must Telalovic be not to get on yesterday. We know Leonard isn’t ready yet.
  7. If anybody was fouled in that tackle it was Boly. The ref’s eyes must have been painted on. The games gone.
  8. What would Dougie or Shearer have got in some games if he was watching, 20/10 ? In his world you only have to put the shirt on to get a 6.
  9. Any opposing manager will be telling his players “ Don’t bother what the score is, keep plugging away and these will fold “. Starting at Huddersfield on Boxing Day.
  10. Lee Andrews And The Hearts - Long Lonely Nights
  11. Brian Clough once said “ Nobody can lose you a game quicker than your goalkeeper, so buy the best one you can afford. “ Leo also badly fumbled one that just squirmed past the post in the second half. For a second I thought it was in.
  12. My take on the “ optimum thread “ - maybe we won’t go down this season.
  13. He might be ok played right up front with another striker but out wide left ? Not for me.
  14. Definitely. We play in front of teams all the time. The one time we got around the side of Watford we scored.
  15. In the first half Siggy was out wide left more often than not. Right in front of me actually. I agree about us not having a pop. We were trying to score the perfect goal. They had a pop from distance twice and got lucky twice.
  16. Bobby Bland - Turn On Your Lovelight
  17. Yeah, I saw that. That was a real limp.
  18. We need to get a goal threat from somewhere. This one up front isn’t the answer. Carry on like this and the better footballing teams will out football us and the ale house teams will out battle us. Maybe a move to 4-4-2 and be a bit more direct until we get a full compliment of players back.
  19. Of course it’s not his fault. If Gally, Dolan and Hedges were fit he wouldn’t even be on the bench.
  20. Killed once more by having no bench to change the direction of the game. Plus we knew before the game Hyam and Ennis would have to be subbed at around the hour mark. So we would have to shuffle the side at a crucial moment of the game. Their subs made our lads look like they were running backwards. Especially when they were running from midfield in the last half of the second half. We were taking it stood still, they were running. At the end we were tip tapping it around until we lost the ball, either in our own half or in theirs. Tip tap for a dozen passes in our last third then launch it long to nobody. Our ability to retain possession fell off a cliff at the end. Tiredness ? Probably. The keeper ? Not for me. How long is Pears out for ? Carter, did ok in a false position. My grandson said “ why didn’t we move Carter over when Hyam went off and play Hill at right back ? “ Good question. At least Carter was up to speed. Hyam, played well considering. Wharton, played well. Travis, did manfully in a false position for him Tronstad, did well in his usual measured way. Wharton, our best player, class act, scored a terrific goal, limped off at the end. Moran, a boy in a man’s game. Garrett, got stuck in as per usual. Ennis, at the moment a blunt instrument. Just a big lad. I’ll give him time but it’s not looking good at the moment. Siggy, the lad isn’t a left winger. He’s wasted out there, he isn’t quick enough. He never beat the full back once. Subs Hill, not at his best. Leonard, see Moran. Markanday, brought on for time added on, really JDT ?
  21. Our home form is relegation form.
  22. Running football beats walking football every time..
