  1. It’s never been about size, it’s all about what’s beating under the badge. Speedie had more aggression than all those wrapped up together and he wasn’t the biggest player on the pitch. The big lads on the pitch never worried me, it was little nasty bastards you had to look out for.
  2. We’ve both seen relegation teams before. The signs are there if you care to look closely. Having most of the ball and doing nothing with it doesn’t bode well.
  3. I agree. Regarding Miller - he didn’t do much wrong but I couldn’t escape the feeling that he is a centre half playing fullback. The same feeling I get when Carter plays right back.
  4. If we’ve learnt one thing from yesterday’s game it is the Gueye and Ohashi aren’t on the same wavelength. I could see that when we tried it the last time against Millwall last season. Ohashi is a penalty box player, pure and simple.
  5. I thought they bullied us to a great extent and the ref did next to nothing about it. We need to man up
  6. I wouldn’t exactly say that. But I thought he did well enough, as did Miller.
  7. What about him pulling Ohashi back by the shoulder before the “ tackle “ ? Even the WBA comms team said it was a clear pen.
  8. It didn’t look like it today. It was all “ hit and hope “.
  9. “ we were surprised with the long throw “. Really !
  10. We wouldn’t have scored if we’d have played whilst this time tomorrow. First half was a continuation of last weekends game. We just weren’t at it, the midfield got played through and around. Trav and Tron looked like they were running in treacle. In possession they can’t run away from opponents with the ball at their feet so why try ? How many times did they get caught in possession ? if we had an option that wasn’t Tavares I’d advocate dropping either of them. The new midfielder looked like Robby Savage without Robby’s scintillating ball playing ability. Definitely he has his ability to commit pointless fouls thought. I thought the ref was really kind to him. I thought the back four did OK, the new centre half can pass a nice left sided ball. The two lads who played at right back looked OK, each in their own way. Up front we had next to nothing. Hedges gave his normal Lord Lucan impersonation and DeNeve looked like a really keen fan who’d won first prize to play in a charity game. I like Ohashi but he’s a penalty box player, pure and simple, he comes alive then. Asking him to hold the ball up isn’t his game. Gueye, came on but got refereed out of the game. Kargbo, I’m starting to get worried about this lad. He’s all pace and no brains. He massively over hit every cross, not by a bit, but by yards and yards. Apart from nearly gifting the a goal with a daft pass I though Toth did well. He’s definitely an improvement on Pears if not a massive one. We have all that height in the team now and nobody can hit them with a cross. I thought we got bullied today. Kargbo for one spent more time lying on the grass than actually running on it.
  11. I’m not so sure. People will say “ What do you expect at Blackburn, it’s a shambles “.
  12. Hedges and DeNeve. Have we ever started a game with a less inspiring pair of “ wingers “ ?
  13. He was a bit lightweight in the days of killer fullbacks. He’d have done much better under today’s refereeing attitudes.
  14. That’s ok as long as it works. We’ve needed a culture change down at Ewood for years. The stats regarding games lost once we’ve gone behind speak for themselves. As do the stats regarding mid week away games lost. We’ve developed a losing mentality than needs driving out of the club.
  15. When I first started watching we’d 4 out of the 5 starting forwards that were born in Blackburn. Ratcliffe, Pickering, Byrom and Dougie. Now the way we are going we’ll be struggling to have 4 English players in the team !
  16. Rovers has become what we used to call in the engineering industry a “ stopping off shop “. A company you went to until something else better turned up. One at which you had no intention of staying for any length of time but provided a wage for the time being.
  17. The Showstoppers - A’int Nothing But A House Party
  18. Is it a Ken Knighton moment ? Having said that Knighton was twice the player Travis is. He was as hard as nails but didn’t go around beating his chest about it.
  19. We all know where the ball needs to go. Beating the first man would be nice.
  20. I lot depends on the player and the circumstances of their leaving. Most people on here were wishing Sammi well because of how he played and they could see he deserved a shot at the big time.
  21. In my mind as well, and I’m not Hedges biggest fan.
  22. Pete Wingfield - Eighteen With A Bullet
  23. You forgot Dennis. Entirely understandable though.
