  1. Yeah, we’re back to conceding in the last quarter of the game and not having anything on the bench to get us back in the game. I’m on holiday at the moment so I didn’t see the game but I got a quick glimpse of their winning goal on the BBC news. Am I right in saying that the shooter had a free shot from the edge of our box ? That never happened when Tronstad was played, he was the policeman in that area.
  2. In our village in Spain they have an inter bars competition every Summer. It’s 7 a side on a roughly 3/4 full size. When I first went along to watch I was expecting a lot of play acting. I was really surprised that it was just like when I played. Blokes flying into tackles like their lives depended on it. Very little rolling around etc. The one lad who is an actor was on Granada’s books for a while. Maybe it’s what they learn when they join pro clubs.
  3. It’s as simple as that really. A thin squad running out of steam, picking up muscle injuries etc. What starts out as a reasonable bench ends up full of kids.
  4. The Action - Shadows And Reflections
  5. I hope it doesn’t take him as long to make an impression.
  6. You can never tell with back injuries. I speak from personal experience.
  7. But would Armstrong have fitted into the team ethos that Eustace has obviously developed. I know strikers have to be single minded but at times Armstrong took that mantra to extremes.
  8. Especially on the striking front. We should have gone all out as soon as we knew Ohashi had a medium term injury. That left us with Gueye who was slowly building up to playing 90 minutes, Weimann who is playing from memory and Leonard who seems never far away from a trip to the treatment table.
  9. Cathy Young And The Innocents - A Thousand Stars In The Sky
  10. Is Giles playing on the right wing again ?
  11. They’re going to let the two of them arm wrestle to see who gets to sign.
  12. The last time I saw him play he wasn’t a real flier, but he was quick enough. What he had was upper body strength. Once he got past you - you weren’t getting back at him easily.
  13. When he gave us the run around for Forest a couple of seasons ago at Ewood he was playing more on the left. He we can get him back to that form he’ll be a good signing. It’s just the “ If “.
  14. I’m not too bent out of shape re O’Brien. He’s not done much in the last two years. He’s not a Tronstad replacement, which we needed. He’s more of a Travis replacement and at the moment Travis is our best player and first name in the team sheet. The only reason I could see us signing him would be either to get Travis playing the Tronstad role, but that’s not worked in the past. Or giving Travis a break on 70 minutes in games. That’s a lot of dosh for somebody who may not improve the team.
  15. Top class left back in the making. Average left winger.
  16. Yeah, he gets a rush of blood to the head when he gets near goal. He’s missed a couple like that. Plus he’s better running from deep.
  17. Beck’s best position is where he’s playing now. I don’t think he’s particularly effective playing further forward full time. Only Rovers could make their one signing in a position where we are really strong.
  18. We’d be better off keeping Leonard.
  19. His first movement is usually towards the ball instead of away from it.
  20. Joe South - Walk A Mile In My Shoes
  21. It doesn’t really matter what he says. It’s what he does that counts . In my opinion he’s already seen enough and had enough. I’d be amazed if he’s still at Rovers half way through next season.
