  1. I was reading an article about Fergie giving Van Nistlehorseface a bollocking one day. They’d lost to City and he came wandering in with a City shirt having swapped his Utd shirt. Fergie hit the roof - “ That’s not your shirt to give away, it’s my shirt, it’s the clubs shirt, it’s the fans shirt, it’s not yours. You only get to wear it for a while. Do that again and you’ll never play for this club again “. Why haven’t we got people in charge that feel so passionately ?
  2. Jonathon Walters. There was that lad “ James Thomas “ ? Who had a couple of games.
  3. We’ve not even been near to one have we ? Yet centre halves have been coming out of our ears.
  4. That’s another thing. “ The players giving it everything “ . When you watch a performance like the Rotherham game you think “ if they aren’t bothered why should I be bothered “.
  5. It’s the “ having no control over it “ . Worrying about what to do about events you have no control over is crazy. I’ve minimised my commitment to Rovers over the last ten years. What’s the point of doing otherwise ? When they appointed Coyle, for the first time in my life, I gave up completely. Didn’t go to games, watch us on TV , come on brfcs.com anymore. Apart from looking out for the scores on Saturday evening that was it. I’ve got to be honest, I felt loads better for it. It freed up acres of time. I got a season ticket for my local rugby league team and watched them instead. It was only with the appointment of Lambert and Co that I came back. It’s still the only logical decision they’ve made even if it didn’t last very long.
  6. As the Irishman said when asked for directions - “ Well I wouldn’t start from here “.
  7. I look at any potential signing like this - “ Is the player in question any better than what already have ? “ In Whitemans case I think he is. Certainly he’s better than Morton who I would expect to be replaced by him. He either drops onto the bench or goes back to Liverpool. I was less than impressed with Morton , he doesn’t do enough often enough for a central midfield player. He gives me the impression that he’s playing within himself. Just doing enough not to get dropped.
  8. No, but playing up front is the hardest position on the pitch. That’s why good strikers sell for mega bucks.
  9. Is there anybody at Blackburn Rovers that gives a toss what we say or think ? Anybody ? Then they wonder why people have voted with their feet.
  10. Like you I’m becoming numb to it all. I felt really sick after the game but after a couple of pints of “ Lowenbrau “ I was over it. There was a time I’d have struggling to get to sleep after watching a surrender like that.
  11. It’s not easy putting lipstick on a pig.
  12. Somebody who can get the blood pumping around the bodies of the players wearing the shirt. Not easy I know but somebody out there should be able to do it. JDT isn’t doing it at the moment.
  13. Have you ever asked yourself why ever since the Chicken Chokers arrived we have had a constant churn of backroom staff ? People leave here on a regular basis, most of them as soon as they get another offer, some for jobs further down the football food chain.
  14. Unfortunately I watched all of it. Vale is out of his depth at this level. He needs to go out on loan to somewhere like Rochdale.
  15. Yes, I was forgetting them.
  16. We are like those cartoon donkeys on Blackpool beach with a stick with a carrot dangling off our heads about a foot in front of our eyes.
  17. Sounds like RevidgeBlue would like to throw him through it.
  18. How many Premier League goals had Lukaku scored when Chelsea signed him ?
  19. I’m pursuing my attempt to win the lottery. It’s a long term goal.
  20. I was going to “ treat “ my son and grandson to tickets for the Birmingham game. Three generations down at Ewood. I wouldn’t put the young lad through that, it might put him off for life. Half way through the second half yesterday he said - “ That’s it I’m off up to Rochdale to watch some football “ ! They lost as well, not his day.
  21. Fully staffed by the experts that signed Hirst.
  22. The minute they’re any good big clubs come in for them, then they’re off and it’s back to square one. Brentford pulled it of because their scouting system is second to none and they could identify replacements. We don’t have that system in place.
  23. I don’t rate Vale either. What does he bring to the party ? He’s not quick, he’s not tricky, he’s not physical, he’s not good in the air. What is he good at ? I asked my son what he thought about Vale - after about a minute deep in thought he said - “ Well, he’s better than Hirst “ . I rest my case.
