  1. 15 years of torment. It’s a wonder anybody buys a season ticket. You could stay at home and knock nails through the back of your other hand for nothing !
  2. I thought he wasn’t big enough. However he’s as big as Alan Wright was and he was top class.
  3. Good question. I ask myself that on a daily basis. We’ve been hijacked by the chicken chokers and the club is currently being held hostage.
  4. I realise we need new players in badly but surely our priority should be the strike force. I’m a bit ambivalent about O’Brien. When we tried to sign him originally he’d just come off a season at Hudds were he was probably the best midfield player in the comp. He signed for Forest and within 4 months they were prepared to loan him out. OK, that’s a higher level of football and Forest was a conveyor belt of new players at that time. But what has he done since then ? If we’re looking to bet the ranch on a player I’d like it to be a striker.
  5. What’s Coylie or Keano doing these days ?
  6. We didn’t really need Jim’s words. A blind man on a galloping horse would realise that no ambitious manager is going to put up with the chicken chokers for a minute longer than they need to.
  7. The minute Ohashi limped off at Leeds with what was obviously a serious ankle injury Rudy should have been on the phone continually until a replacement had been sought. How long ago was that game ? And nothing has happened.
  8. I don’t recall the inter league games ever being played at Ewood Park. I think we hosted an Under-23 game or two in the late 1950’s, early 1960’s.
  9. It’s not just about the starting 11. What will be bench look like ? In modern football the bench and players coming off it to change the game is crucial.
  10. Gueye has to start for me instead of Weimann. We’ll need his height defending corners with the lack of height in that team.
  11. How many goals would Messi score playing for the “ Treasure Island “ that is Sierra Leone.
  12. Joe Haverty, for the even older ones. He was 5-3”. I remember seeing us line up with Dougie, 5-7 ish, Bobby Craig, 5-5” and Joe Haverty 5-3” all in the forwards.
  13. I can’t see any point in rushing Travis back given how many other players are missing. If he aggravates it again he could be out longer still. If we had anything like a full squad I’d say it was worth the risk but we don’t and it isn’t. Travis is too brave for his own good.
  14. Is Litherland only 18 ? He looked older when I saw him play. He looked quite handy but you should be making your debut in a settled team ideally. Not in a team full of players that have never played together before.
  15. Junior Walker And The All Stars - Shotgun
  16. I know, we never got a peep out of them last season.
  17. That speaks volumes - Dolan and Hedges who have done nothing for weeks. So we sub them for Weimann and ACD on the hour and then they do nothing.
  18. We don’t know who’s going to be available for selection. Thia would be my team if everyone was available. Let’s see how many make it out onto the field - Pears Brittain, Carter, Baath, Pickering Cantwell, Travis, Tronstad, Beck Gueye, Ohashi I expecting about 3 of those to turn out. Let’s think about that before we critique the manager. I expect our first choice back 7 players to be un-available. That unprecedented at any club at any time in my experience.
  19. I thought at the time that using all our subs with what must have been 20 minutes playing time to go was very, very, risky. Especially given that several of the guys still out there are injury prone. That led to JRC exacerbating his ankle injury. I thought that a big mistake.
  20. Eustace to Bolton ? Do we need to be worried about?
  21. Roy Head And The Traits - Treat Her Right The white “ James Brown “.
  22. If you’re going, take your boots, you might get a game.
