I watched the U-21’s against Germany’s second string tonight. 70 minutes of more Zzzzzzzzz. . Then we gave it a go for 20-25 minutes. We play Spain on Saturday now. Play like we have done so far and we’ll get buried.

I stopped regularly buying football kits to wear when I stopped playing in my 40’s. I’d have bought this one to help the club if had been quartered properly. I may get one for my grandson if he likes it more than I do. I bought that 1960’s one that Herbies was selling on this site to wear when walking out in rural Spain. Now that is a cracking shirt that any Rovers fan could be proud of.

Where Southgate got lucky was getting the job in the first place.

Definitely, until they got in front of goal.

I quite like the shirt but no reversed halves is a no-no for me, so sorry but I won’t be buying one. It’s dismal that they can’t get anything right.

2nd half more Zzzzzzzzzz. Everything that’s wrong with modern football. Too slow in possession. No tempo. Playing in front of the opposition all the game. Nobody got in up the side. Nobody wanting to take responsibility. Just sideways passing. . Too many playing for themselves in front of goal. None of those players are knocking on the door of the first team of thst showing. I had to turn the commentary off. If I never hear Conor Coady again it’ll be too soon !

And Andy Cole had a game to forget.

He started to shine when he moved positions and started to play further forward. Before that he was pretty ordinary. Maybe before your time but Andy McEvoy was another example. Pretty average attacking midfield player but when he was moved further forward - a goal scoring machine up there with Denis Law and Jimmy Greaves.

Putting the record to one side the football we played under Southgate was dull, uninspiring and boring.

I have been for years. I rarely tell people I’ve just met that I support Rovers. I only hang around because of my grandson. He’s 18 and really keen. He’ll still be here when the Chicken Chokers are history so I don’t want him to lose hope like I have. Once fans go they very rarely come back.

My youngest son got a signed Rovers ball a few years ago. It came with a piece of paper that deciphered all the squiggles.
