  1. Some good player in that team. Imagine having Dunn and Jansen on the bench now L
  2. Jeff Kenna was a good player, agreed about the other three.
  3. That was possibly the only thing Frandsen did in his time at Rovers. Thommo with that last minute shot at our goal. What a great player he was for Rovers
  4. Centre half is another story. They probably run the least of all the outfield players. You can easily play there until your mid thirties if you’ve looked after yourself.
  5. I was right in line with it behind the goals. It was going in until the second it didn’t ! He tried to finesse it into the far corner when he didn’t need to.
  6. Playing for Leeds the ball is in their opponents half most of the time and he still does nothing. It’d be worse at Rovers. He’s playing from memory Jim.
  7. If we still had Szmodics he’d have walked away with the match ball yesterday. Where we’d be if we still had Sammi ?
  8. They might be thinking of signing another striker so maybe he would be surplus to their requirements.
  9. John Byrom, Fred Pickering, Roque Santa Cruz, David Bentley. The second time around was pretty poor.
  10. Wallace’s ship has sailed. He’s certainly not the answer to our lack of pace up front. Hopefully it’s just speculation.
  11. I’ve watched him 3 times recently and I’m still waiting for him to do something. Avoid.
  12. We’ve just signed the “ experienced head “ in centre midfield in Forshaw apparently, I can’t see us signing another one.

  14. That was a real howler. He should have thrown his cap on it.
  15. He’s got all the ingredients. It’d be a sleepless night if you knew you were up against him the next day. Oh, and don’t forget to bring your shin pads.
  16. Strange team, it’ll be interesting to see how they line up.
  17. If we had billionaire owners we probably would. Oh, sorry I forget, we have.
  18. I remember the United game Fred mentions very well. We’d been starved of football for what seemed like an age. Eventually the day dawned and we actually saw a game of football. It was a sunny Saturday afternoon after all the ice, snow and gloom. My abiding memory is of both teams giving Fred Pickering a guard of honour as he came into the pitch, he’d got married earlier that day ! My other memory is of more Man Utd generosity. Later in the second half Rovers were attacked the Blackburn End and the attack broke down. Harry Gregg in the Utd goal got the ball and threw it out to Albert Quixall in the Utd midfield. At that moment Fred Pickering was bent down tying up a loose boot lace. Quixall dithered on the ball a bit and then turned and passed the ball back to Gregg. At that moment Fred stood up, the ball went straight to him. As good as a pass as we used to say. Fred just swivelled onto the ball and banged it straight into the back of the net ! I was stood right behind the goals at the Blackburn end and I had a great view of the cock up. Shades of todays “ playing out from the back “
