Season tickets 2022/23
Tyrone Shoelaces replied to JHRover's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I was just reading in my paper that - the latest Asda income tracker states that discretionary incomes for the under 30’s was down 26% in April compared with a year ago. Even for those aged 30 to 64 it was down 11%. That’ll have a bearing on peoples ability to purchase luxuries such as season tickets. -
That is the problem. There are better centre halves then Lenihan. For me he’s still making the same mistakes he was making years ago. Still easily drawn to the ball and away from his man. Not my idea of a good captain, he only got the job because of seniority in my opinion. The trouble is we’ll probably recruit somebody worse as Mark says.

I was expecting the Kiwis to declare before the close of the play. The’ve probably got enough already.

All that the numerous candidates being interviewed tells me is - they haven’t got a clue. When we had a board that had their fingers on the pulse of the British football scene they identified the chosen candidate and then went out and got him. I would imagine then that the directors would have had a potential candidate or candidates in mind even when things were going well with the current manager. You never know when Sheffield Utd, Newcastle, Birmingham or Everton will come calling.

They need to realise that you don’t have to score off every ball, or every over in test cricket. You can fill your boots when you’ve worn the bowlers down.

Where’s David Steele when you need him ?

I haven’t watched any of it today. Were we batting with the bat handle again ?

I just looked in my “ Wisden “ for 1962 Jim. The 1961 season Aussie tourists played Worcestershire ( the traditional opening game “ ) on April the 29th and May 1st and 2nd. They then played Derbyshire, Yorkshire, Lancashire, Surrey, Cambridge Uni, Glamorgan, Gloucestershire, The MCC, Oxford Uni, Sussex. All theoretically three day, two innings games. After that they played England in the first Test on June 8th. All the main batsmen had made hundreds by then, some had made two or more.
