  1. I was on the Riverside that night. I had to leave at the final whistle to catch my last bus home. It still irks me that Mowbray thought scenes like this weren't worth playing for and the title of " Champions " wasn't worth trying for. I knew then he wasn't the man to lead my team into the future.
  2. Chapman's really going great at Shrews but I can't see him coming back, unless we go down that is.
  3. It doesn't help when you sign players with a history of injury problems. We had two centre halves in Lenihan and Williams. Both have a history of missing games. So we sign Ayala, who is basically a sick note. We got really lucky with Wharton coming through. Centre half is a key position and we were nowhere near strong enough in that area and we still aren't. Signing two kids was a ridiculous move when we needed a senior pro. If we do get relegated this season it'll be because we were weak in the centre of defence more than any other single reason.
  4. If he's on payment by results he'll be owing the club money soon.
  5. What's Lord Lucan doing these days ?
  6. Ayala can go now for me. Just make sure he doesn't take " The Vince Grella Award " - a gold plated walking stick, away with him.
  7. I thought he was ok as a third choice centre back. He had more good games than bad when he came in.
  8. He wasn't quick enough on the turn for full back.
  9. " Hey hey we're the Venkies, and we're still hanging around We've backed Tony Mowbray, so don't go putting him down ".
  10. Yeah me too, I'm backing India, how about you ?
  11. Funnily enough I thought the exact opposite.
  12. With a bit of luck we won't need 50 but we'll definitely need 6 more at least. two wins and a few draws are what could be required. We need to start getting shut downs out our end but Mowbray hasn't signed the players that can keep clean sheets. Most seasons there are teams that look dead and buried that escape and another team that appears to be comfortable but just collapse.
  13. So much for him being injured then. Who's next into the rubber dingy, Holtby, Ayala, Trybull ?
  14. The won't even know we are playing now the cricket is on again.
  15. I've said before it's like being in an airliner were the flight crew are locked in the cockpit and their oxygen system isn't working. Will the plane crash or will the flight crew wake up first. In the real life version the plane crashed, just saying.
  16. I have a pal who an Huddersfield fan. He's quite well connected and his view is that the Cowley's would cause trouble in an empty house. Make of that what you will. Maybe that's what we need ?
  17. 205 all out. I think we should give up playing Test Match cricket until we start producing Test Match cricketers. All we have now are " tip and run " players. No real openers, no gritty No3 batsmen, no quality spin bowlers. Just guys who can " hit out or get out ". This tour it's been " get out ".
  18. I think Wilder will stay at Sheffield. If they were going to sack him they'd have done it by now.
  19. We are the least well equipped side to enter a relegation battle. Everywhere you look at the club it's wrong. We need to become hard to score against yet Mowbray hasn't signed the players to do that. Two kids at centre half ! The man's an idiot.
  20. My thoughts exactly, he's tarred with the Mowbray brush now.
  21. It's a worrying time. From a current form point of view we must be bottom of the pile. Unless we can get our act together we're in real trouble. I can't escape the feeling that things have gone badly wrong behind the scenes. Why are we prepared to let Williams leave when we're really stuck for experienced centre halves ? Are the " injured " highly paid experienced players really badly injured ?
  22. It's not as bad as the sickness outbreak on this board. We're all sick !
  23. I think you're right. I said the other day he only stumbled across the Graham/Dack combination almost by accident.
  24. You can't knock anybody who's still a fan after the last ten years. The " fickle " ones have left years ago.
  25. He knew a replacement for Graham would be needed at least 12 months before he left. I would argue 18 months to be honest. By no stretch of the imagination could you say either of Brererton or Gallagher were capable of playing that role, not now, not ever.
