  1. That's very revealing, the bookies are right a lot more times than they are wrong.
  2. Possibly not. We know what we're getting with Williams at centre half, he's half decent most of the time, especially if you want to hang around in mid table. Presumably Swansea have had look at Sarr and Williams and apparently they prefer Williams. I'm hoping Wharton will come good, I think I've seen a footballer there. Certainly if I was scouting I'd be back for another look at him.
  3. I don't know much about Sarr but the fact that he played for a relegated team doesn't mean he's a bad player. When we were relegated in 1966 we had the best centre half in Europe, possibly the best centre half in the World, playing for us.
  4. Bloody hell, the defence then was worse than the current lot !
  5. Put the goals at the side of the pitch and we've cracked it then. I learnt a long while ago that I could pass the ball a lot quicker than I could run with it.
  6. Very good boxer in his day.
  7. Rumours around that we've signed Rathbone for £400K.
  8. From what I've seen he's another Travis style player. Very similar in style.
  9. Who's just returning from a serious injury. Look somewhere else Tony.
  10. Well he's had plenty of practice.
  11. I didn't realise you were Southgate's agent matey. You kept that quiet.
  12. I didn't rate Eriksson either, he was another charlatan in my opinion. Capello's heart didn't seem to be in the job.
  13. I don't rate him Chaddy. He's not got what it takes at top level. Same with Phil Neville and the women's team, they get found out in the big matches.
  14. I think " The Guardian " have had enough of Southgate. They've been running knocking articles about his management style recently. Great son in law material but a second rate manager. I was only thinking the other day I'd rather have Mowbray than Southgate as a Rovers manager. They're both cut from the same over cautious cloth but Mowbray will be cheaper.
  15. That's what pitches were like back in the day !
  16. I had them all bar the last one. My youngest son has them now.
  17. I thought that when we were trying to sign Kipre. The lad looked to be a good defender but I didn't get the impression he was a ball player.
  18. Drink driving incident with other people injured apparently.
  19. Or give them away apparently.
  20. Yeah, why have him making waves at the club, he's obviously disaffected for what ever reason.
  21. When I broke my leg as a teenager I was desperate for anything to read so I swapped all my programmes with a mate for a huge pile of football magazines. " Charlie Buchan's Football Monthly " and one called " Goal " or " Shoot ". I could kick myself now - I had the " Rochdale V Norwich " League Cup Final home leg programmes. Look it up on the internet - it goes for mega bucks now. I used to get one called " Foul " which was football version of " Private Eye " , That was hilarious but it didn't last more than about a year.
  22. We need a quality centre half and a quality full back more. No point bringing in a new centre mid to take Buckley's place on the bench.
  23. That's assuming the Chicken Chokers have learnt enough in the last ten years to know the difference between attackers and defenders. I can't see any evidence of that.
  24. I agree, I don't rate him either. Nice guy but not a winner.
