At any other club he would be getting summoned to the boardroom at 8.30 sharp this morning for a frank exchange of views as to what was causing the current collapse in form. If you watched the " Highlights " video somebody put on here when we were talking about signing him that's all I could see. He was picking the ball up wide and running in field. There didn't seem to be much end product. He wasn't particularly quick or strong. He wasn't looking to get a shot away once he'd opened up the defence. The wasn't much penalty box action and certainly no 6 yard box action. You couldn't judge his heading ability because he never headed the ball ! I thought was amazing for such a tall guy. He didn't seem to be aggressive or relish physical contact. In fact there was nothing on that film that would have induced me to pay much more than about £500k for him. And that was his highlights FFS . I got shouted down by plenty on here for saying these things at the time but the same people are very quiet now. I could have put a short video together of Samuel last season that would have made in look 10 times the player Bretherton is and we know how good Samuel really is.

I've been saying that for ages, we just don't look a well coached team. I watched the first half of the Doncaster v Palace game. Even Doncaster looked better than we do on the ball.

Anybody who's ever played football knows that teams don't like travelling away. Even top pro's prefer to be at home. The time to get at teams when you're at home is right from the off. The first 5 or 10 minutes. Get your foot on their throat and keep it there. When did we last come out full of running and aggression ?

I haven't seen the game but when I saw the team just before I went out I thought there was no balance between attack and defence and nowhere near enough bite in midfield. Every game we play there are multiple changes. In my opinion that's another game lost in team selection. I'm afraid the manager has lost the plot regarding our best eleven and is starting to also lose the players, if he already hasn't done so. At any other normal football club he'd be getting the hard word tomorrow morning. " Sort it out or you're down the road ", but we aren't a normal club so nothing will happen.
