  1. I'll bet the doll has a bigger IQ than his girlfriend.
  2. Talk is cheap Stuart, time for some action out on the pitch now. Tomorrow would be a good time to start. I got a text from my son today regarding the manager, he sees most of our games - " I'm still not Mowbray's biggest fan. We haven't majorly improved since he took over. If we didn't have Dack and Graham we'd be struggling. If he's still here next season I think we'll struggle. "
  3. It's about time it dawned on you that what Mowbray says and what actually happens out on the pitch are two entirely separate issues. That's why I no longer listen to anything he says.
  4. I've stopped listening to Mowbray. I want the team to do the talking from now on.
  5. I see no evidence of a plan unless it's to field a team of nine midfield trundlers, a goal keeper and a striker. City tried a similar thing before the " Total Football " concept way back in the 1960's and the manager got fired after they were getting banged every week.
  6. I don't get this nothing to play for talk. When you cross that white line you have pride in your ability, self respect, respect for your team mates and the shirt you're wearing, desire, determination all to play for, not to mention winning bonus. Winners don't ever have a nothing to play for attitude. Not even in friendly games.
  7. The fact that Bennett has been practically an ever present in the team this season in all sorts of positions tells you all you need to know really. He's not particularly good enough in any of them. The lad is handy to have on the bench but that's as far as it should go for me. The team owes us a committed performance irrespective of the result. I never went into a game were I couldn't see my team winning as a player. Let's see some backbone Rovers, Villa will be thinking the 3 points are in the bag, let's make them earn the points !
  8. I really look forward to International breaks. That way my Saturdays aren't ruined.
  9. I played against David Cross as a young player and I knew him quite well. His brothers played cricket for Heywood in the old CLL. He'd go along to watch them in the football close season and I was stood at the bar at Rochdale's ground one day when he came up next to me. I said " Can I get you a beer Dave ", He said " No just get me a tomato juice, I don't drink much ". When I persisted he said " No thanks, there'll be plenty of time for ale when I finish playing ". That was a lad who had a long career as a top level striker in the old First Division with Man City and West Ham among others but I can tell he you had about half the footballing ability Bradley Dack has. What Crossy had was " attitude " and you can't buy that.
  10. I think you'll find most sportsmen are Jim. Didn't the greatTed Dexter once stand for them as an MP ? The Alex Ferguson's don't come around very often.
  11. What about Big Ben ? Money in the bank there once he gets in the England senior squad.
  12. There's an interesting article in todays " Sunday Observer " regarding 'Arry Redknapp. In it it states that he signed he signed Chris Samba for QPR on a four year contract worth £20 million !
  13. Yeah, I think he had a point to prove that day. Lots of players can get fired up for the odd game, that's why you have FA Cup upsets. The top players can get fired up most of the time.
  14. He made our midfield look like mugs at Oldham last season. He was the best player on the pitch that day but he didn't have much competition to be honest.
  15. Take a nought off that fee and it would have been a decent gamble. Samuel cost about that and going off his pre injury form he made more of an impact.
  16. Why aren't they more pro-active regarding this aim then ? Do they think everybody gets a go at being in the Prem and they're just waiting for their turn ?
  17. I like the International breaks as well, this lot can't ruin another weekend.
  18. Just what we need, another midfield player.
  19. Why get worked up ? They're supposed to be pro athletes with a bit of pride in themselves and the shirt. I bloody hated losing, after losing a game like that I'd have to lie down in a darkened room to calm down. There's nothing beating under that badge and it's been like that for ages. When that Dingle got on the pitch at the Turf years ago our lads faced him down, this lot would have run away.
  20. It's been like this since the Chokers came in and got rid of Sam and Williams. Nobody's minding the ranch anymore.
  21. Yeah, have a nice time Brad.
  22. What for the Darts team ?
