  1. Gallagher went down injured in the second half yesterday, think it was his ankle by the looks of it. You're right though he's crucial, but it's very hard to see him staying fit for the remainder of the season....
  2. On a similar note, In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government they survive as soldiers of fortune.
  3. There'll be some tired legs after yesterday on that absolute joke of a pitch especially, just what we needed a long trek to Cardiff. In an ideal world there'd be a few changes to rest players, but that's not really a luxury we have with this squad. Cardiff have us, Stoke and Huddersfield in their next 3 home games and will want to win a few to avoid slipping into the relegation fight we find ourselves in. I can see it being an absolute pig of a game, 1-1. Draws aren't much use to us in our predicament, we need to get the balance right between making us harder to beat (signs of that yesterday) and still showing attacking intent. When you haven't kept a clean sheet for an eternity, it's pretty obvious we ain't picking up many 1 or 2 nil wins.
  4. Pardon? Last 3 visits there prior we had the 1-1 that should have been a win but for you know who. Pasted them 4-1 and 3-0 the 2 previous games, not sure which Deepdale you've been attending 🤔
  5. You're the one crying pal. No They Can't Unless there's a season long injury/rehabilitation issue. In which case it's irrelevant. Now stop talking shite .
  6. What are you actually on about? He's at Ipswich, he's playing football for Ipswich, he's there for the season. No rule bending allowed, at all. He's AT IPSWICH.
  7. Loans are locked into transfer windows now if that's the agreed duration, so no, we can't get Travis back
  8. Well, it was better than Tuesday I'll give them that. To be fair, he's obviously making us harder to beat, and that second half I'm almost certain we'd have folded under JDT. It's still fucking annoying though losing a 2 goal lead. That said, I'd have taken a point at the start. The problem we have is we don't really have much time for JE to put his stamp on it, we need some points and pronto. Garrett was dreadful and I think he made Tronstad look worse too as he busy bodied about doing everything he could. Fleck evidently rushed in after playing next to no football all season, what a shocker he got injured.
  9. This is a season of firsts for me. Didn't go boxing day for the first time in as long as I can remember and not going Preston for the first time in as long as I can remember either. I probably will watch it (at least initially) but definitely not looking forward to it one bit. Suppose its a bit like having a look when driving past a car accident ☹️ They SURELY cannot play worse than midweek, can they?!?!
  10. Fully agree. If you ask your typical rovers fan who Waggott is though, I reckon probably most have an idea. If you ask who Suhail is, I bet its less than half....
  11. I'm not for one minute defending Waggott, he's just stuck his head about the parapet slightly more than the other snake in all this.
  12. Funnily enough I did exactly that, I asked Suhail. He read my message but didn't bother to reply. He gets away with a hell of a lot in the shadows, more than anyone if you ask me. Waggott has (for what it's worth) at least shown some willing to engage with fans.
  13. I don't wish to alarm anyone but when Eustace took over Brum he won 1 game in his first 7. He needs to hit the ground running a lot quicker here. Preston will definitely fancy a win and ita hard to see past one after the other night.
  14. What a difference a few days make, that was spectacularly bad. Honestly no idea what we were trying to achieve last night. I guess the only positive is we (somehow) only conceded 1 goal. Really doesn't bode well ahead of the Preston game, or the next few to be quite honest! I'll give Eustace a chance as granted he's not had much time to stamp his mark on things. I suppose we can't really play any worse than that so it can only get better, I think? Surely?
  15. Should be an interesting encounter, I think the result could set the tone for the next few weeks as well, a win really would be huge. Truth being told, I think we completely surprised Stoke with our tactics on Saturday. If they'd done their homework based on JDT setting the team up, which they must have done given the timings, it's no wonder they were a bit baffled. Brum will have a bit more of an idea, although we're likely to change things up again with Eustace in full control. Make no mistake though, a loss puts us back in the relegation mix. I fancy Hudds to pick up a point or 3 against Sunderland and can also see QPR beating Stoke. Brum have lost 3 on the bounce but all 3 came away from home, they're better at St Andys. Going for an entertaining 2-2 Hedges and Szmodics bagging for us.
  16. I met up with a few lads I've not seen for a while before the game, it was alarming to hear a few of them muttering about us needing Venkys 😪 Needless to say they were told how utterly wrong they were!
  17. I genuinely wasn't going to go yesterday had JDT still been there, no disrespect to him really I just couldn't bear watching more of the same. New manager appeal swung it for me and I'm glad I did now. Some really good performances across the pitch, notably McFadzean, actually I think I'll just call him McFadz it's easier. He was barking orders all game and really made an impression. Whether there was an element of players trying to impress the new gaffer or not I don't know but they did seem like a bit of a weight had lifted off their shoulders. A big swing on the stats yesterday, 37% possession and made it count. Number of passes was also hugely down on the QPR game. Not sure if it was a Johnson and Lowe decision to play this way or Eustace, but it was a welcome one.
  18. He gets a lot of stick Benson but honestly ask the players and staff about him. Apparently works every hour under the sun, first one to arrive and last to leave at Brockhall every day. He also does maintenance work because they won't pay anyone else to do it! Also pays for training equipment out of his own pocket which is quite frankly ridiculous, but hats off to him for doing it.
  19. Agreed, his brief is obviously a simple one for now - avoid relegation. If he fails he blames what went on before him and the carnage in the background. It's almost the exact time Mowbray took over when he did in February and ultimately we went down that season due to his predecessor. If he keeps us up, he's probably secured a nice long contract and job that's his as long as he wants it....
  20. Happy and also surprised they've managed to sort a new manager so quickly, although maybe it's been going on for a while and they persuaded JDT to babysit till it was sealed? Or he found out they'd lined his replacement up and lost his shit.... Either way I'm happy with the appointment, we need a new manager bounce and we need to remember how to defend first and foremost.
  21. A decent bloke there's no doubting that, but there's absolutely no hiding from recent results. I went through various stages with JDT, some of his mind bogling decisions made me really question his sanity, notably round the time of a few Derby games. His memorable cup runs brought some great times though. He probably could have taken us further with the right backing, we'll never know. I think a change was needed for both parties.
  22. Whilst I do sympathise with JDT I really do, he's escaped a lot of blame because of the circus around him. He still needs to set up a team to at the very minimum be able to defend, you work with the tools you've got - no disrespect meant there..... It's also possible his agent his putting the feelers out for other jobs right now, if he has something to walk into, he may become a little less demanding with any severance pay. His stock in the UK probably isn't very high, but sure he'll have offers in Europe.
  23. I can only presume the top secret info from this meeting is the proposed managerial changes and I don't think people will be impressed. Can anyone confirm or deny that one of those people involved were present yesterday, or are the rumours bollocks?
