  1. For what it's worth on Morton... He was nowhere near as bad as he got made out to be at times, my only real gripe with him was him being too soft. Its how most young players are those these days unfortunately with the odd exception (which is why I'm keen to see Garrett develop more). He'll get more protection in the prem, if he gets his chance there. He'll also get less time on the ball though so will be caught in possession if he doesn't improve that area of his game. He gave away a few silly balls that cost us, BUT so has Adam Wharton, the blue and white brush comes out for him though and under the carpet they go.
  2. Just reading some comments from Wrexham fans, they're completely underwhelmed by the draw, who the feck do they think they are? Safe to say as well as a sizeable allocation, half the country will be behind them as everyone seems invested in the 'story' of Wrexham 🥱
  3. Wonder if they're doing the trick where they send all their tickets back to City again this season as that's on the horizon? Or will it be different this season with it being a VK wankathon 🤔
  4. Szmodics massages his own legs constantly all game, every game, whilst doing his short pulling. Each to their own, he could have a tug at the halfway line if he keeps scoring for me.
  5. He should have been reaching a bit more for the second goal, the first I'll let him off although there's keepers that save it. Granted, defence was shocking for both.
  6. Would anyone risk* trying one of our young keepers out today? Preferably one that can cope on set pieces? I know absolutely nothing about Cambridge but I bet they have a few big lumps they can get up top on set pieces. If they've done any sort of homework they'll know this is their path to an upset. I say upset, but we're 9/20 at home to win in the cup to Cambridge! That really does show you how poor we've been lately. We should be like 1/5 if the bookies had any sort of confidence in us... *not sure it's even a risk after watching the last few
  7. Good on you pal and I hope they put on a bit of a show for you. Wrap up warm it's a nippy one this morning 👍 It came up on my timeline yesterday that I was in Newcastle 5 years ago for the FA CUP, safe to say I was a bit more inspired then.
  8. He's a left back so more likely backup for Pickering. Looks like a decent youth record but beyond that there's not much to go off.
  9. Things like this make me sad, but it highlights the situation perfectly. There were times when I was a young boy and times were hard for both my family and the club. My dad would sometimes take me to sit on the Riverside hill to catch some of a game. It worked and I ended up hooked. I wouldn't dream of taking my youngest to a game now (she's 4) as I fail to see how she'd last longer than 5 minutes before deciding its awful. Growing up we were shite for large chunks of my school life, but I was still proud of the club and would wear my blue and white shirt at any opportunity. How can kids growing up now be proud of a club that the owners don't give a flying fuck about?
  10. Or..... It works the other way. I agree the recent issues extend further than just ability, the body language of numerous players doesn't seem right at all. What if Travis was speaking up on behalf of the other players though and JDT has took a disliking to this and shown him the door? As jolly and likeable as JDT may appear at times, he's clearly stubborn and opinionated. I hope you're right though for the sake of the team.
  11. Hats off to anyone who goes tomorrow, you're either super loyal, extremely bored or a bit simple. I've not felt so disillusioned for a long long time and today's transfer activity, if you can describe it as that, has done nothing to sway me!
  12. We've conceded 12 goals in our last 4 games, 12 goals. Rotherham seem to have turned a corner and conceded 1 in their last 2 games, against better teams. There's something badly wrong at the minute behind the scenes, lose this and you could argue people should lose jobs.
  13. As already said, it would purely be financial but I don't know what they pay As an aside I'd sell Adam Wharton tomorrow. He ain't gaining value.
  14. That's why they've done it, he doesn't look happy lately though there's a lot of gesturing towards his team mates. Birmingham have bid, which as I say isn't particularly a good career move but maybe financial, not sure.
  15. A bid has been submitted for Szmodics, I don't think it's a particularly tempting club though unless they pay big wages 🥲
  16. We've folded against Sheff Weds and Huddersfield so just need Rotherham to complete the hat trick. 3 goals shipped against both teams, who weren't even good, it's terrible going. Rotherham will probably have their tails up after a decent win today too. A loss against them and the boos will be loud and clear.
  17. Only positive is that I didn't bother wasting time or money travelling today, first time I've binned boxing day off in many years but simply couldn't be arsed. Been there loads of times and wasn't particularly hopeful for the team either. Absolutely dreadful from start to finish, Szmodics looked absolutely fuming, particularly at the wasteful Brittain. In fact most of the players seemed to be just going through the motions, there was no togetherness or team spirit on show today, something seemed badly wrong. I'm genuinely sat wondering which game I'll attend next, I'm far from inspired right now😔 I'm completely bored of it. I don't blame JDT, I think he's just got an almost impossible job, I feel sorry for him as you can tell he wants the best for the team, even more so for the fans. He'll see his contract out but he'll have no intention of staying beyond it. Then we'll no doubt end up with the cheapest option available. The outlook is grim, we all know the root cause of our problems but difficult to see them pissing off any time soon either.
  18. Getting a bit fed up to be honest. Absolutely nothing against JDT or Gregg, I just think they're pissing in the wind and its obvious now as much as ever that we'll never progress under the current owners. There's no chance of promotion, and we're up against it for a top half finish if you ask me. Not attending on boxing day for the first time in as long as i can remember, just can't be arsed. It's sad that it's come to this but just not feeling it this season.
  19. It is bollocks, our 'fans' doing the usual scapegoat act when things aren't going our way and frustrations boil over. He ran his absolute socks off for the team, the deal was sorted way before the end of the season.
  20. Looking at the season to date we're actually the worst in the league for it. Saturdays opponents have the best record in the league as a comparison so may well be a nervy end....
  21. Ennis showed a few glimmers of hope, I've been banging on about just having a bit of presence up top at home and i think he can provide that more than Leonard. We missed him a bit when he came off, has it actually been confirmed whether he was injured or if it was just a planned sub to manage his minutes? I haven't seen it mentioned post match, seriously hope its the latter....
  22. We simply need more of a presence leading the line at home. We can get away with the lack of one away for the most part. I'm willing to bet our home form improves when Gallagher is back, how far off is he does anyone know? At the moment opposition centre halves have very little to concern them, now whilst Gallagher probably isn't as rough and tumble as we'd like he does make them earn their wages. Our record with and without him speaks volumes. Still at a loss as to why Telalovic can't try and fill that gap but I've given up on him for now, something clearly amiss.
  23. It's not really a fixture I look forward to be honest Jerseybean, no offence, I'm sure you hardly look forward to playing us either.... It's a pig of a journey too, I remember going to your place on a Sunday for an early KO the other season, thanks sky. Your ground is however the best in terms of facilities in the away end. We haven't faired particularly well against you lot either the past few seasons, a few draws thrown in their. We don't draw many this season mind. Your recent away form looks grim but we love bucking trends in that respect.
  24. One of my earlier experiences of Leeds fans was in '94 when Matt Busby passed away and pretty much the full Darwen end sang about Don Revie throughout the silence. My 13 year old self was left thinking what a set of twats. Nothing has changed my mind since then. The whole reason yesterday was an early KO was because they can't act normal, I remember when they tried taking the Xmas tree out of the Postal one year, top banter lads. Nobody can dispute they take numbers away from home, but it's already been pointed out why it's not that impressive. The atmosphere was pretty shite too despite all the top lads in attendance.....
  25. Felt like a flash back to Mowbray being in charge yesterday, I think we missed JDT on the sidelines. No disrespect to his deputies but I'd rather have Jon on that touchline any day. Although he'd probably be in hot water, again for berating the officials (rightly so too). Felt very flat all game, second half slightly better than the first. Leeds embarrassment of riches was summed up when they brought Spence on off the bench and we had Ennis 🥲 Leonard I think can be a decent player but he needs a more experienced head carrying the can for now. I notice Telalovic was nominated for player of the month in PL2, yet gets no game time at all at Ewood, really struggling to understand that one.
