v Leeds United (h) - 30/11/2024

Leeds fans at work look forward to Rovers away more than most games, not far to go, loads of tickets and a day on the piss. It's also probably one of the only away games many will go to all season it's that hard for them to get tickets. Likewise United fans want us to go up too as its one of their favourite aways for the same reasons. There's never been mass disorder with them they just tried to take a few Xmas trees with them a few seasons back from the postal. They would have arrived early irrespective of KO times, it just means they might be marginally more sober than had it kicked off at 3, till after the game anyway. -
I wouldn’t put it past Waggott to try and promote the game tickets as Xmas presents, roll up, roll up.

Leeds have looked good in large patches of games when I've seen then, a very different proposition to Sheff Utd in terms of playing style, but a tough test nonetheless. However, if we look at form they've only won 1 game in their last 5 away from home and that was a late late winner at Swansea in a cracking game. Worryingly we failed to score in our last 3 home games.... The ineffective Hedges needs dropping for me, we need all 11 players to make their mark. Beck or ACD could do a job I feel. 1-1 for me, Yuki to put us 1 up after 3 minutes, Leeds to equalise very late on after a resilient defence concede a penalty. As an aside I wonder if anyone will turn up thinking it's a half 12 kick off? Bit of a weird time ain't it. -

Great win, its weird how we always do well at the Riverside, I didn't go tonight but think we've won on all my previous visits even when playing poor. Got very lucky with the goal, slightly tarnishes it that it was offside but I'll take it. Following Cardiff and that goal plus a few moves tonight I think a few of the players are getting more on TC's wavelength. In the early days he was just playing with complete strangers, excited to see this develop further. Just a shame TC's goal was offside too, although Dolan taking 3 working days to play the ball didn't help.... Boro were really poor, although their missing players will no doubt have been a factor. Leeds will offer way more going forward. Still, defend like we did tonight and you never know. JE may well be getting ideas about a little link up on that left side having Pickering AND Beck on the pitch, it might just work too.... -

Think I’ve been suffering from some kind of burnout from Rovers, so for the first time in as long as I can remember I didn’t even watch us today. Looks like the dropped a bollock. If someone would have predicted a 3-1 away win today I’d have told them to put the crack pipe down. Cardiff in great form at home and us distinctly lacklustre in front of goal. Some really good goals after watching the highlights, reminiscent of the Derby away goal a good few seasons back, was it Marvin Emnes who has the finishing touch I can’t remember, I’d certainly had a few that day Literally the last thing we needed now was an international break…… -
January Transfer window

Rumours that Sigurdsson refused to play for the U21s last game so it seems his time here is up. Pathetic attitude, with 6 months left on his contract in Jan I doubt we'll get much of a fee though, and that will probably be our budget, minus a cut for the twats in Pune. -

Surprised Sky had any interest in this one, as a chap who likes a flutter I keep an eye on the both teams to score markets, 9 out of Sheff Utd's last 10 games, both teams have failed to score. I haven't watched loads of them this season but it points towards a relatively dull game, just need to make sure it's us that score, and Pears doesn't backheel one into his own net. As an aside, the standard so far in the championship this season seems to be the poorest it's been in many years. Watched Luton/WBA and despite 2 good goals it was pretty dire. Burnley have been absolutely shite this season yet look where they are in the league, I mean we too have been poor a lot of the time and same applies. Frightening to think 3 of these teams are going to be playing in the top flight next season 🤯 -

Whilst people are flapping about goals, or lack of - the blades have scored 2 less than us this season and we've only scored 1 less than the twats in second. 1 nil home win, Travis -

Yuki and Mak aren't as bad as people are starting to make out, we're not playing into either strengths though. Trouble is, we'd become too used to Szmodics, neither are anything like him. We need to adapt, and fast. Our only source of a decent cross into the box really is Brittain, both would relish someone whipping in crosses. ACD is our only hope on that front. -
Despite all the crowing about new stock of kits, they haven't bothered with the 3rd kit in infant sizes. Wanted one for my 4 year old daughter who's now playing football for ages now. Well done you simpletons, probably would have been one of the most popular size ranges for the 3rd kit.

Should really have been 2-2. Some poor finishing on display..... Last 15 mins or so both seemed happy with a draw for some reason. Cantwell again showing glimpses and played a few good passes, those around him not really on his level aside from JRC a few times. Against a current top 6 side who'll probably be there or thereabouts, not a bad point. Very tough run coming up....

It's already glitching, Stanley must still be ok 56k modems

Toughest home fixture to date, but it's a West Brom team without a win in their last 4 games, scoring only 1 in their last 3. For whatever reason we have a decent record against them at home too. Going for a 2-1 home win, but we must play much better than Saturday to achieve it.

Well obviously but our budget won't change now, but our opposition will 🙄 Swansea have lost 4 out of 5 away 1 nil for a reason. -

Post international break or not, the lack of interest on here in comparison to 3 or 4 games ago is startling. Are people losing interest already this season? 🤔 Let's be honest we haven't played well that many times this season, the home record is somehow intact but someone like Leeds would have bagged a few today, no 2 ways about it. West Brom are in pretty gash form with only 1 win in 5, still feel as though they'll offer more than Swansea up top though. -
This stream quality is pretty shite although seems to be getting slightly better last few mins.

The England Team - all the news, views…
Ossydave replied to roverandout's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Tuchel is a great appointment, far better than any English names linked. People against a German in charge need to come round to the fact its a job to him. I work for the European arm of a huge Chinese company, I work my bollocks off because its my job. I have no affiliation to China in any way. How many managers actually support the team they manage? Tuchel will be passionate because that's the type of manager he is. Over his managerial career he's set club records for goals scored, music to my ears when you look at the players at his disposal and the potential to score goals and entertain. -

Hope they've put the additional time in training to good use, trying to rectify the failings in previous games. Always remember particularly under Mowbray we'd always play like they'd been sat round playing cards for a few weeks in our performances post international break. Personally, took a break from football myself as I have zero interest in pointless internationals, even chose to work last weekend instead... Will be great to have Beck back I must admit. Swansea have had tough away fixtures and only lost narrowly when they have, aside from a good win at Coventry. We have a good record vs them at home only losing once, going for a questionable performance but a 1 nil home win. -

We need to start being a bit braver with ACD and let him start a few, would have been a good opportunity. -

Plymouth looking decent at home, us not so much away from home. A draw would be a good result looking at the form book. We've looked pretty crap if truth be told going forward in the last few away games. Gueye must start for me and also ACD. Typically Plymouth score their goals second half, we could do with bagging 1 first half, ideally 2. 1-1 draw my prediction, and I'd take it after the other night. -
Amario Cozier-Duberry (ACD)
Ossydave replied to NeilInBristol's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
And? You could see regardless of opposition he's nothing at all like Moran and he's not afraid to take players on. If he's not doing this in limited championship game time, it suggests he's doing as he is told. -

Pressure is really mounting for Robins, this will be a really tough game despite a fair few Cov fans seemingly writing them off. He's been there a good 7 years for a reason and is more than capable of turning things round. That said, they looked terrified of a bit of pace and trickery against Leeds at weekend and I'd be tempted to give ACD a start here over Hedges. If Dolan plays like he did at times on Saturday he too can cause them problems. Around 70% of Cov goals have come in the first half this season, compared to a similar figure in the second half for us. If we go in at half time 1-0 down it'll be a big test to show we don't roll over like we used to and have the ability to get back into games. These buggers have done us over a few times in the last few seasons with late goals, we're definitely due to win a do. Hard to call but I'll go for a 1-1 draw.
