  1. Derby probably need 10 new signings to make top 6 especially next season, not aware of them looking to invest to that extent. Eustace did a good job here but there's no question he had better tools at his disposal than the current Derby squad.
  2. It would probably appeal to him being back in his home town, I don't think Bristol will be up there next season either.
  3. Another desperate attempt to promote positivity. Hopeful? Doesn’t exactly fill you with much confidence does it. Should be an easy one, one of our best defenders last season, give him what he deserves.
  4. Always liked Charlton away, think they’ll struggle massively though after watching that game
  5. Wolves did ok when they switched manager and he'd got his feet under the table, lost a few recently but only after they confirmed safety. Brighton had a good season for the most part they just seem to be frustratingly inconsistent which meant they just missed out on the top 6. Palace had a solid second half to the season, but if they lose a few it may affect them next time out. Bournemouth may struggle, fell apart around Feb time. Surprised you haven't listed West Ham, they'll be down there unless they throw a sizeable amount of cash at next season and actually use it wisely for once.
  6. I was expecting a wilder meltdown post match in his interview, fair play he was actually reasonable and congratulated Sunderland, he's right though that second 'goal' would have been game over, although he didn't dwell on it like I expected him to. Both Sunderland and Leeds have the potential to stay up with some big investment.
  7. Weimann turned out to be a decent signing, definitely signs there though that he may not have another season in him. Does very much fit the Eustace experience criteria though so wouldn't be surprised if he goes there. Could take him or leave him for me.
  8. Not prem, but that Messi fella did alright, same height as ACD. I don't think ACD's issues all stemmed from his height, he just came across as a bit of a pussy without much of a football brain. He may well improve but he was an absolute flop here.
  9. Redundancy is awful when it's happens, went through it myself 18 months or so ago. BUT looking back, it's one of the best things to happen to me. I too at that point was working in a toxic place, much like I imagine the staff there now are. Blind loyalty by myself kept me there longer than I really ought to have stayed and I imagine existing staff at Rovers are similar. Frasers group are as cunt like as Venkys.
  10. A popular financial offering at present is a 'take 3' option. Essentially you split the payment over 3 months and as such avoid paying any interest. Do we offer anything like that or is it payable over like 10 months if taking finance, guessing significant interest is charged too? £300 season tickets, £100 paid over April/May/June with zero interest applied. Job done....
  11. That just says 90% of the squad? I haven't read all the articles but surely that just means 90% of what we have regardless of new signings, 10% for injuries etc, or is the 10% the new signings? 🤔
  12. You're missing the point, not for the first time. Daft kick off times have a huge impact on UK supporters, often making it impossible to attend especially via train which is the preferred method of transport for many. It makes absolutely no difference in Spain as any away fans will usually just be local to the home ground. Then again you can make every single home game regardless of date or kick off time and you don't seem to travel away so it's probably the usual chaddy mindset of it doesn't affect you so who gives a fuck 😳
  13. Have you attended a La Liga game? You'll find the numbers of away fans are tiny, it's impacts them a hell of a lot less. Likewise fans rely on TV coverage a lot more for the same reason. Obviously the size of the country makes it a lot harder to travel, along with the small away allocations, but comparing the 2 is pretty pointless.
  14. Wrong time to be answering this tbh, as always recruitment is key not just to us but everyone else. Brum and Wrexham spending means they're less likely to be scrapping down there like Pompey, Oxford and Derby were this season. Derby will no doubt back Eustace and be a little more comfortable but the other 2 will be battling again. I think a few more established teams will be though too. Preston ought to be very worried unless they make considerable changes. Usually a surprise team involved, not many backed Luton to go down....
  15. Only just by the looks of it, can't really question the 3 that are in it though. If there was an award for most improved player, more common in youth football, he'd have won that hands down.
  16. Reading at home in 1988, sat in the Nuttall Street with my old man. Finished 1-1 and was a bit shit tbh, persevered though. Always considered myself lucky, caught the tail end of harder times but obviously got to enjoy the good times. I've seen my team with the premier league, the league Cup and followed away in Europe including the champions league. Young lads now have it tough, hopefully the good times return!
  17. I was at the Bolton game yesterday and despite shifting more season tickets than us the standard of football was dire. Had a Bolton supporting workmate with us and asked if it was just because it was a dead rubber, he said that was a decent performance for them 😳 on the flipside the hospitality there put ours to shame, really good day.
  18. Over 7000 sold so they've extended phase 1 to the 14th May, why not just bin the bloody phases off? Must admit I'm fairly surprised we've shifted that many (although it's a poor figure). Suppose the decent run recently has made people have a change of heart, if the shocking form had continued we'd be around 4-5k I reckon
  19. Christ that Dennis header was definitely this seasons Hedges miss at Preston, truly awful. I was quite happy when we signed him but what a waste of space he's been, granted injuries haven't helped but the return on those wages has been one hell of a waste. What a shame the season ended when it did, 10 more games would have been handy. As many have said we never thought we'd be anywhere near 7th but it's not really much of a consolation. I'm more worried about the players we may lose than who we may sign or not sign to be honest. Brittain, Tronstad and Travis must have admirers. Mr Marmite Dolan as inconsistent as he is still needs replacing with someone of at least equal ability, hopefully better though. On the flipside I really think Toth can kick on and be a real asset, I don't think it's a fluke that we're unbeaten since he has been playing and he looked good again yesterday. I was worried about him I must admit, possibly still mentally scarred from Wally Wahlstedt, he HAS to be first choice though now next season. I feel the league may be a little tougher next year, some decent squads coming down and if Brum and Wrexham flex their cash there's a good chance they're up around the play offs.
  20. No sport in the world can make you feel like this on the morning of a game, remind me again why we love it so much? I'm 2 nervous shites in already 😵 It should be VI's easiest team talk yet in terms of motivation, "you know what's at stake, take a look at those fans in their thousands and what it means to them, go make yourself heroes boys." Its that simple.
  21. Absolute bollocks, I haven’t come across any dingles with that mindset. If it did all go tits up they would of course claim they wrecked our play off bid, probably come up with a pathetic chant about it like.
  22. Yeah there was always going to be a pay day spike, just like there would be end of May, June and even July. Arsing about with phases though means that will pretty much be it after today. Unless of course we somehow manage play-off glory but that's a huge stretch.
  23. A load of pointless waffle as expected. And despite taking weeks to doctor the minutes or whatever the fuck they do and nobody can spell the managers name right.
  24. I'd hazard a guess at them saying initial sales are encouraging despite the current economic climate making things difficult for some people. There'll be some figures comparing our prices to other clubs in the league too. That will be it, so not sure why you're so arsed OEB. I've never read the minutes and though "corrr I didn't know that!". How much of the discussion is excluded though I've no idea. Something I am surprised is being kept under wraps (to my knowledge, haven't seen it mentioned, yet) is that the ground needs some fire safety work completing by the end of the year to protect the steel. Its an expensive job, into the millions I'm told. You'd expect that's going to be done between June and August when nobody is attending. Maybe it's being kept in reserve as an excuse for not spending in the transfer market pre season 🤔
  25. He's all but signed for Derby if you pay attention to their fans and in fairness based on what I've seen of them - he'd probably be their star player, they'd pay him well. I think he'd much rather stay here, he's clearly a family man and his sister often accompanies him on match days. I guess Derby isn't that far though at the end of the day. He's been great recently, now - is that putting himself in the shop window OR has VI got a tune out of him that's often been lacking in games this season? He speaks highly of Eustace but he wasn't great in a large percentage of his games here. Hedges or Dolan would be an absolute no brained if it came down to that choice (to the fans anyway).
