  1. thatcher's pre meditated attack is absolutely reprehensable. he should be banned for at least 6 games. i've met him a few times and he's a nice guy off the pitch, but he's a history of maiming opponents. adopted scouser, that ladies bottom is hypnotic!
  2. good point. at the moment, the drummer dictates the chants. songs are ruined, die on there arse or are drowned out, as the drummer beats along to the insane- ''get into em.'' on the freebie point, i heard they got free tickets when they 1st started- surely theyre not still getting them.
  3. i thought we played very well and never looked in trouble for 75 minutes. then, inexplicably, we defended too deep, the midfield and defence played as a back 8 and an everton equaliser was inevitable. with a bit more luck we'dve held out, but we never seem to get that. GOOD Roberts - approach work was excellent. he'll score goals when he settles in. he's pacey and brilliant at holding the ball up. we are now able to play more direct football and be confident the ball will stay upfront. mCcarthey is a very clever technical player and influenced the game and caused problems by dropping slightly deeper. scored a fantastic goal, made a difficult finish look easy. emerton had his best game for years. regardless of whether he wants to play there, i think RB could be his best position. zurab was very solid. he's great in possession and, although he can overplay at times, he is an infinetely better CB than lucas. POOR todd ,by his own high standards, put in a poor display. he was at fault for cahill's goal- should never have let the ball bounce, gave away needless freekicks late on and he struggled with the pace of johnson (shouldve had a pen). reid (he's not fully fit) and sav were ok defensively, but offered next to nothing in an attacking sense. bentley started the game well, but faded. same old problem with lack of creativity from the midfield area. i'd be very suprised if this wasnt address before the tfr window shuts. pedersen was anonymous. mickey gray had a poor game. having said everthing, i think it's important to take the positives from the display and if the creativity in midfield is addressed, we'll be a much better attacking side than we were last season.
  4. in many countries in the world, people are shouting ''REVOLUTION, REVOLUTION.'' in burnley they shout "EVOLUTION, EVOLUTION. WE WANT OUR THUMBS!'' living in blackburn must have speeded up marvs, evolution. the next step is to replace his 'yorkshire' accent with 'lancashire.'
  5. why are burnley's crowds so poor. your games arent shown live on arabic tv.
  6. exactly. well said, sir! winston churchill lives!
  7. well done, thenodrog. about time he was put in his place. wakefieldrawks is an arse. fantastic news on todd. i had feared wiley would stand by it. that guy REALLY despises rovers, like the rest of his colleagues. i refuse to praise wiley, as it was his duty to overturn the ban.
  8. i'm suprised rovers dont allow 'blues bar' to screen some away games.
  9. ROVERS 1-0. jeffers to bag winner, preferably infront of the darwen end.
  10. is that the 'royal we' ? i was responding to the doom and gloom merchants. the performance was unacceptable, but it doesnt mean it's terminal and rovers'll struggle/ championship here we come. i was pointing out that people should wait a few games, to see if the abysmal performances continue, before worrying and critisising.
  11. i agree with neekoy. manner of the loss or not, it is one game. talk of a crisis after the 1st game is ludacris. everyone that is panicking should calm down, stop their internal dialogue, wait to see how rovers perform in the upcoming games and who we bring in before the end of the window.
  12. Nelsen and Zurab are unlikely to be fit for Wednesday. our only hope is to draft eileen drury in to do some 'faith healing.' she's not doing much these days, apart from making glenda hoddles shreaded wheat in the morning. come on, eileen.
  13. i'd say rovers have a case to appeal todd's and ,if they do, surely he'll be available for wednesday, wont he ?
  14. a very small consolation. what a painful couple of hours. only brad and reid distinguished themselves. i suggest any of lucas' cheerleaders who think he should be our 1st choice centre half, take a look at the highlights on sky. granted, he played there in an emergency and in my opinion he should only ever swap positions in extreme circumstances. roberts and mccarthy didnt have much chance to impress. same old story, a lack of creativity in the midfield that needs to be addressed and i believe it will be before the window shuts. todd's was a fair challenge, although, if i'm being ultra-critical, he'd no need to lunge in (- the game was over and both todd and wiley shouldve used common sense). rovers should report wiley to the fa and the premier league. he looks for excuses to send rovers players off. he shouldve been relegated after allowing liverpool's goal. * unless zurab and the admiral recover like lazarus, i reckon the axe/ jay (what a choices to make ) and matteo will probably be the CB pairing on weds, with reid/ emerton switching to RB* no need to panic, it's a very similar start as last season (the only difference is i didnt go to this 1. thank god!) and we've got 37 games to put it right.
  15. yeah, and hopefully cheryl tweedy will realise she's been in denial, divorce ashley and declare her love for me, and we live happily ever after!
  16. exactly, phil. ''He is the poor man's Stuart Ripley.'' i wish he was that good, bryan!
  17. dont forget- the enigmatic- carl cort! i'm sceptical that JJ is up to championship standard (& if wolves are, for that matter). he's been unconvincing whenever i've seen him (reserves/ first-team), but, if he does start scoring, and with wolves going through a bad time, he may become a hero. he'd never have made it at rovers though. i still cant understand how he got offered a new deal, a couple of seasons ago.
  18. interesting, but worrying article about rovers recent starts to seasons. we'll still beat portsmouth though. ''if you add up the number of wins from the first six games of each season, it totals a meagre FIVE out of thirty games where Rovers have taken all three points…'' http://www.footballingworld.com/1/diaries/...from=&ucat=156& we'll still beat portsmouth though.
  19. i believe he's swapped numbers with jeffers, after his 2goals in the 10 shirt on saturday.
  20. the admiral stays! 'arry snubbed yet again! that's karma for the dodgepot! cant wait for rovers to reeeeeally rub their noses in it on saturday.
  21. never mind vollvik, where's evian and vittel got to ?
