  1. I’ll never understand why interrogating Chaddy floats anyone’s boat, it makes threads unreadable. Mowbray isn’t delusional, he’s doing the two things people who realise they’ve fucked up and might lose their jobs do: reset expectations (25 games into the journey) and find scapegoats (Nyambe). No matter what else he says, I’ve always thought what would nail him was Gallagher and Brereton, he really did need them to pay off. My worry is, as he gets increasingly desperate, his only play is to sell Armstrong and Dack to send some dosh back to India. He knows exactly what he’s doing.
  2. That language about Nyambe was disgraceful and I’d be amazed if the other players didn’t think so either. I’m not as big a fan of Nyambe as many on here, but the situation is making me consider the benefits of a DoF. Nyambe has been here for what, ten years, so just because a (hopefully) transient manager doesn’t fancy him doesn’t sound good enough reason for the club to say goodbye to a ten year investment when the next manager might fancy him. Furphy stuck Don Martin in the reserves for three years then Lee stuck him straight up front in a promotion winning team. Two good managers, two different opinions, but thankfully Don wasn’t shunted out of the club.
  3. Yep, as we saw for Preston’s second. Love the way he didn’t keep his eye on the ball when he ran straight toward it.
  4. In his interview on iFollow he comes over as too comfortable here. Started with us when he was six, he probably can’t remember a single thing of his life when he hasn’t been at Rovers. I love to see local lads in the team but I’m not sure he has the drive to succeed at all costs, which is what it takes unless you are ridiculously talented.
  5. He’s 25 with a shite goal record in all but six months of his professional career.
  6. Could, four years ago. I wish I could still do everything just as well as I could four years ago! 7 goals in his 66 appearances not for Rovers suggests he was hardly a goal machine before Mowbray ruined him. He’s had half a good season in his career - Jon Stead had half a good season in the Prem and ended up playing his trade in the lower leagues, where this fella belongs.
  7. His passing, heading, ball control and hold-up play won’t improve wherever he’s played, all are dreadful.
  8. I don’t think even Sir Roger, who was no stranger to the halfway line, ever took a throw in in the opponents half like Kaminski did.
  9. No doubt Tony. We’ll be seeing all three on the pitch for every game no matter what. I also think it entirely likely that, having asked for and got the money for a recruitment dept., he’s been told they are making the decisions now. In any normal business when someone asks for money to spend on an asset, they don’t get the choice of not using it. The point being that all their chicken businesses are normal businesses and that’s how they run things.
  10. I don’t even think it’s a conspiracy theory that Mowbray might have compromised control of the team sheet for the January reinforcements (if that’s the right word). Extra money has to be requested from India to pay for the young loanees (Elliott included.) We know Balaji gets star-struck with his failed film ventures. TM: ”We are really close to getting in the playoffs, these top quality kids will push us there” BR: “I can get players from City, Liverpool and Everton playing in my team?” TM: “Yep, they are all top kids, all going to play for England.” BR: “OK, money sent. They’ll be on the pitch every game though, right? Because that’s why you’re asking for them.” TM: “Of course!” I actually think that’s the most likely way it happened.
  11. Also interesting that there’s no LT report there yet. Usually is for night games
  12. My issue was after he vacated his space he had zero awareness of what was happening in it, he drifted toward the ball, never glanced back. Even one glance would have given him a time to react quicker than he did. He had no idea the player was there, in his space that he decided to vacate.
  13. I doubt the phone will be ringing off the hook after their first goal and that statue impression in the second half.
  14. If he doesn’t get sacked this weekend he’s here till he alone decides not to be. Totally incoherent performance.
  15. Am I the only person who saw Nyambe present QPR with their first golden opportunity by running under a long flighted ball his man was able to chest down and race toward goal unhindered, with Bell of all people saving our bacon at the back post? And with no goals and half a dozen assists in 150+ games, how on earth would we score without him? If Mowbray plays a guy from a club Nyambe will never play for and we get three points, I’m happy. If the kid runs under long flighted balls leaving his man free, I’m not. Another dire 1-0, for us or Knob End.
  16. He’s been on telly and in the papers for the last 40 years! When his name first popped up as our manager, how many on here said “who’s that?” His mug is one of the most recognizable in football.
  17. Of course. But I think they do have a track record of taking risks by withholding cash, e.g. the pitch
  18. One factor not mentioned could be that agreeing a new contract with a player triggers substantial signing and agent bonuses payable upfront. Given we have no gate or commercial income, I suspect Sunhil or Pune are delaying new contracts in the hope that some cash flow will come from somewhere sometime (King, spectators) before the existing contracts reach the point of no return.
  19. Don’t take this personally because it’s certainly not meant, but I did find it amusing for an anonymous person on t’interweb describing a bloke who probably millions could name at first glance as being a nonentity! 😀
  20. Might I be right in guessing that they do it that way to prevent it hitting the parent company’s P&L as a (potential) loss? Could they argue to the auditors that VLL could make money in other ways to cover losses on its loans to BRFC, whereas BRFC almost certainly could never pay the money back. After all, all those years Burnley have been in the Prem only realised £40m in the bank.
  21. I remember that goal from the time, didn’t he beat half the team just like he did for us against someone (Barnsley?) I was surprised years ago in an LT Tony Parkes Remembers feature he said the rest of the dressing room couldn’t stand Field, too greedy. I wonder if Armstrong is getting a bit of that.
  22. Equally mysterious is why he replies
  23. Gally doesn’t have a striker’s instinct IMO, rarely gambles, he moves toward the ball, not toward where the ball is going to, or might go to. Last ten games, Armstrong has looked like he did in his first six months when TM saying he’ll be our centre forward one day sounded laughable.
