Not sure I agree with this part Gav. Bowyer inherited a much bigger mess than Mowbray did. A season following utter chaos with Shebby and Shaw still squabbling, a season following 5 managerial changes from k*an, Black, Berg, Appleton, a squad containing the likes of Orr, Murphy, Etuhu, Best, all those weird Portuguese lads. He then put a squad together in his first season signing the likes of Gestede, Marshall, Conway, Cairney, Evans that was still in with a very slight chance of finishing 6th on the final day of the season. The year after is the sickener under Bowyer as a seasoned Championship manager would have had that team in the top 6 at least in my opinion, but we still finished 9th. Something Mowbray still hasn't achieved yet in 5 years. Now look at who Mowbray inherited. Raya, Nyambe, Lenihan, Mulgrew, Williams, Bennett, Evans, Conway & Graham. All those were lauded as hero's 12 months later for finishing second in the third division. Mowbray even gave most of them new deals, and with the exception of Raya, all look like they have walked away for nothing. I'm not having that Mowbray has saved the club from some sort of oblivion, he's been the most average manager I have ever seen and done nothing more than the bear minimum I would have expected from somebody given 5 years at the job to shape the club as he saw fit. I'm personally glad to see the back of him, although admittedly a bit anxious to who comes in next.

Highs - My first high following the club was the Wembley play off final in 1992. Just a cracking, although very tiring day that i spent with my mum and grandad that i remember vividly. Nearly 30 years to the day i was so hoping that i would be able to take my son to the Play Off final this year and watch us get promoted again to relive the spirit of that day, unfortunately doesn't look like its meant to be. Obviously have to include The Worthington Cup win, and the promotions at Deepdale and Doncaster in there too. Lows - Alan Shearer leaving would have to be the first one, then relegation in 99 was a tough one to take, although eased knowing that the club was still in pretty good shape to bounce back. The whole Kean debacle and various things that have followed have to top it though, at times it's been an absolute chore over this past decade. Sublime - Being in the Liverpool side of the Anfield Road End on May 14th 1995 was probably my favorite ever day following Rovers, i was decked out in Blue and White and i can't say enough good things about the locals around us who genuinely treat us like royalty. They ushered me and my Mum all along the row to get next to the Rovers fans at the final whistle so we could celebrate along with them. Incredible day that will never be topped or repeated.

Think Paul is getting his games confused somewhere. I think he means after the Sheffield Utd game on November 5th rather than the Forest game in Feb. (As after Sheff Utd we went on that ridiculous run that got us to second).

I could see a potential big walk up on Saturday if Sheff Utd don't win tomorrow, but still dont think it will be anywhere near selling out. If we could hit 20k it will be a success in my opinion. -

Not a chance it will sell out. Even if all available tickets did somehow go, there is still the Blackburn End Upper and the other half of the Darwen End Lower to open up yet. -

Wonder when we will close the Darwen End lower to home fans for this game due to lack of interest? About 7 seats sold in there for Saturday looking at the online planner... -
Correct. Bristol City - Get a ST holders details to claim a £10 ticket Derby - £20 Blackpool - £25 Stoke - £25 Bournemouth - £10

He's been on the bench last two games. -

The original death spiral. 9 defeats in 11 after we were sat 7th and 2 points off the play offs in Janaury. Didn't sign any defenders despite being low on numbers, sent Paul Downing out on loan on deadline day, next game Lenihan gets injured and we're left with Mulgrew and Rodwell as a back two, with Magloire playing a couple of games. -
Nice idea but there will be no response.

Peterborough 3 Rovers 0. A Good Friday on the ale is the only reason i'm bothering with this. -
All those loan signings were pointless in the end though. If we had played Travis from the start over Reed, we might have finished 18th instead of 15th, or if we had played Wharton all season over Tosin, we might have finished 18th instead of 11th, or Dolan all season instead of Elliot we might have finished 20th instead of 15th. There is no prize money per place at this level so we would have been better off playing and growing our players rather than achieving nothing with everyone else's.

Not a chance Mowbray is going to West Brom.

Isn't Ainsworth our of contract this summer? -
Said it before, but Middlesbrough under Mowbray were 3rd at Christmas one year and finished 16th. The year before that under him they were 2nd at Christmas and finished 7th.
-
Forest still have to play Bournemouth though, and all Bournemouth's games are against sides in the top half. I wouldn't rule it out.
-
Not quite. 4 in 9 home league games from August-November.
-
Would rather that than the manager sitting there sulking on the sidelines because we have managed to come back and win 3-1 after being 1-0 down at half time.
-
I know it happens all over the game, but at least it would finally put to bed the honest, humble, 1970s working class nice guy manager theory's to bed. Anyway, as long as he isn't here next season and we get a fresh start I will be happy whoever he takes with him, as the last 3 months have shown the November/December form to be a blip more than anything. August-November and January-now is what you usually get under Mowbray.

Attendances: A cause for concern

Who runs the official site these days? Misleading headline here.. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2022/april/01/roverstv--watch-rovers-at-the-ricoh-/ Rovers TV headline saying how to watch the game live tomorrow if you can't make it, only to say you can't watch it 😆 -
The infamous spring collapse 1992
MarkBRFC replied to BRFCS.com's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Remember going to Port Vale and Barnsley in that run. Horrible games, was also at Tranmere where the fightback started. Again like others have said, and it was probably because i was a lot younger but i always thought we would go up in that season. Still, it's a good thing Dalglish did lose those 6 in a row so it can be pointed at every time Mowbray goes on a ridiculous losing run. -
I've seen some cruel pranks before, but this beats the lot.

They beat Sheffield Utd 4-1 at home but then lost to Hull 2-0, so they seem a bit hit and miss. They will however hammer us as Mowbray won't have a clue what to do with our starting lineup. Coventry 3 Rovers 0
