  1. If he was, he would have signed a new deal.
  2. Probably not far off. Bennett has been here a while and got a new deal fairly recently, and Gallagher was a big money buy. Travis has only been in the side a year, and Dack has only signed one new deal since we were In the third division.
  3. Agreed, it's a new story every day with a different target etc. It's all bollocks, we'll still be in this position come August IMO.
  4. Best wishes Paul.
  5. I've just read that. It will never, ever happen.
  6. That's the one @Oldgregg86 is thinking of. Summer 03 or 04.
  7. We only wore it for that one game at Arsenal didn't we?
  8. He was up against Beckham that night at Old Trafford and was superb. League cup semi final, we got the 1-1 there and think lost 3-1 at Ewood in the return leg despite going one up.
  9. I might be wrong, but in the T&C's of a season ticket purchase, I don't think it guarantees a set amount if games to be valid for, just a guarantee for all games played in the season. So if the season does become void, we have had all our games this season. Obviously opens up questions if they are played behind closed doors though.
  10. Anderson was a couple of years previous. Scored in league cup semi at Hillsborough! Didn't play many games though. Baggie was a strange one, he was about 10 years or so later. Scored at Leeds in 2003.
  11. Not sure about that. Shearer and Ferdinand had a cracking season together in 96-97. Really worked well together, Shearer was always better with a big man up top, Newell, Sutton, Ferdinand etc.
  12. Exactly my thinking at the time. Remember seeing player after player being transferred that summer and thinking "they would have been good for us" but also thinking we must have some good players lined up if we're not going for them. I always thought we should have been in for Les Ferdinand when he moved that summer to partner Shearer, don't get me wrong I loved Sutton, but two goals between November & May in our title winning season was telling me we needed more strength up there. A centre half, central midfielder and a left winger were probably needed too to fill out the squad. Think Gary Speed moved that summer from Leeds to Everton, would have loved him at the time too.
  13. If this was 10 years ago be would be a shoe in. Keith Andrew's looks like Roy Keane compared to some of the crap of the last decade though.
  14. Kean Orr, Peacock, Dailly, Harkness Feeney, Lowe, Murphy, Treacey Best, Goodwillie Subs - Steele, W Brown, Etuhiu, Petrovic, Brown
  15. Harry Chapman will be on this list in a few years. Remember James Thomas bursting onto the scene relatively early in our 2001 promotion campaign and scoring a few goals, think he played most of his time in the 4th/3rd division after that season. Jimmy Corbett was another one who came in around 1998 from Gillingham for a million quid and never did anything, hampered by injuries. Maceo Rigters arriving after being top goalscorer in the 2007 Euro U21 championships is another, think he scrored a ridiculous overhead kick against England. I don't even know what happened to him after he left.
  16. I loved Newell. Perfect foil for Speedie during our promotion in 92, and also to Shearer for the following two years. It's quite suprising that although a key member of the squad, he only managed two starts, and didn't score once in our title winning season. Hat trick in the champions league too, can't imagine many more Rovers players will ever achieve that feat!
  17. Yeah, played one game away at West Ham in the 94-95 season. Looked very average.
  18. Means the Premier league would have 23 teams next season. That's just odd. All the other leagues would tally up with promoted teams replacing promoted teams.
  19. I'm sure many people have, about various goalkeepers who didn't make the cut. I think the key is not to take these sort of shows too seriously.
  20. I watched the captain one and Shearer got slapped down for having the nerve to suggest Tim Sherwood over Wes Morgan.
  21. We played in the Charity Shield in 1928 too after our last FA Cup win...
  22. Funnily enough I've just read an article on South Shields taking legal action, they are 12 points clear and have apparently invested a lot this season to achieve that goal. Could all get a bit messy this.
  23. No way will that happen any higher up. Read the other day that the national league were on about ending there season now but with all results standing, so Barrow would get promoted.
  24. It was personal preference, as they have set it up so every player in the game is "85" rated, so it doesn't put clubs like Accy or Orient at a disadvantage.
  25. Brotherston was Northern Irish, unless your going for a combined team there? Remember really routing for Ireland at USA 94 with no home nations present, that Ray Houghton goal against Italy.
