Completely agree. At the start of Feb I couldn't believe we didn't make a couple of signings then and really have a go with us only being 3 points off. It could be years before we get in that position again. My point is that whilst I accept that it would be progress if we finished 6th, the year after we could easily finish 15th again, but a lot on here seem to view that getting in the play offs is a successful season, it isn't, winning them is.

Is losing in the play off semi final next season a successful one?

Yeah he's a good player, I remember him absolutely dominating our midfield at Ewood a few years ago in a game against Norwich.

For me, I'd be pretty content if we kept what we had and got in a quality Centre half and a striker. Lenihan needs a real partner In there, with Williams, Mulgrew and the kids as back up. Should something happen to Graham, we're left with either Nuttall, Brereton or Samuel leading the line, not many goals in that lot. If the budget stretched to a centre mid then great, but i'd really like to see Travis & Davenport given a chance to forge a partnership in there, I really think they would compliment each other well.

Mowbray would probably bring Downing in to play in centre midfield rather than on the wing. Anyway, I wouldn't worry too much it just won't happen.

How on earth are we a better option than the clubs they are currently at? Said months ago that we will not be signing ready made first 11 signings, and stick by that. The team that lines up on the opening day next season will be... Raya, Nyambe, Lenihan, Williams, Bell, Bennett, Travis, Evans, Rothwell, Dack, Graham. With a few new lads on the bench who will be waiting there turn for the next 6 months.

That Maher looks good on paper, doubt it will happen though.

Not a surprise is it, despite what TM said we were never going to sign 3 or 4 ready made championship players to go straight into the side. Davenport, Chapman & Samuel will all play more of a part next season, they are our 3 main signings. Ths others will be young lads that we'll still be scrambling around to sign on August 8th, who will come in and wait there turn for 6 months before being thrown in for the last 5 or so games next season, before playing more of a part the season after, then rinse and repeat until the end of time, or at least until venkys/Mowbray get bored anyway.

The Rangers game will be a cringey one I think. Loads of lads pretending that Rangers are there "second team", singing pope songs etc. Count me out.
