  1. He's 22 now Gilsenan, needs to go and carve out a career for himself in league 1/2. He's still young enough to bounce back to this level by his mid 20's if he's good enough and stays fit.
  2. Can't imagine Higgins will stay if the reported interest in him is true.
  3. Unless the club have just got it wrong?!
  4. One that seems to have gone under the radar is that I think Batty is out of contract this summer. Wonder if he might think it's worth leaving to go and get a permanent lower league deal.
  5. The worry for me comes when we inevitably start a season badly, because you know it isn't going to improve after Christmas. I think that could be next season.
  6. Oldham at Ewood, it was the first home game of the 88-89 season. Rovers won 3-1, I think it was a Simon Garner hat trick. Never seen any footage back from it!
  7. I still find it incredible that this lot have lasted 15 years here.
  8. At least hold them for another month while there is still a very slight possibility of going up.
  9. Probably limp to around 7.5k if that is the case as not many more will be sold after the prices go up.
  10. Zero nerves from me tomorrow because it's completely out of our hands, like it was two years ago at Millwall. If we were sat in Bristol or Coventry's position though it would be a lot different.
  11. I agree with what you are saying, but we are just as guilty as them just on a smaller scale. We poached Tyjon from Rochdale for I imagine peanuts, then will probably make over a million quid for just developing him. We're the middle men in such a food chain. The system all around is completely wrong.
  12. Yes, but my point is that would bids of over a million need to be submitted for someone who is on a scholarship contract? As I remember Gregg saying that if we hadn't have tied Phillips down to a pro deal with a release clause, then we would have got just a few hundred grand compo instead, or does that just come in when the scholarship ends and he technically becomes a free agent?
  13. @K-Hod was Yasir challenged on his point that "Rovers have only ever had an average of 23k (including away fans) once and that was in 94-95"? We had an average of over 25k the season before and during when these idiots rocked up, and many more seasons during the 00's and 90's. Seems a very stupid thing for a senior official who is in charge or ticketing to say??
  14. Would "bids" need to be made for someone like Tyjon who hasn't even signed a professional deal yet? I thought it would be similar to Phillips who could have just gone for a bit of compo before he signed his first pro deal with his Β£2m release clause in it. Nonsense that account is.
  15. I imagine most of our business will be loans to be honest.
  16. Rudy (I know i know!) said that they don't want to put any pressure on Wharton which is why a left footed centre half will be looked at. I always think you need 5 centre backs to be fair, I dont think O'Riordan will be good enough, and i'm guessing they will hope to find a good league 1/2 loan for Litherland.
  17. Just don't read anything into it, the post had nothing to do with his "situation" although he can see why people thought it would, and he's still a "Blackburn" player and that he will see us on Saturday.
  18. 7 defeats in our last 8 at Bramall Lane, the other being a 0-0 draw where Brad saved two pens!
  19. Made me laugh when I saw Dolan's response. Must think we are all thick, of course that's what the original post meant, Dolan practically said goodbye to Ewood on Saturday in the same way Szmodics did after the opening game of the season. No chance he's here next season.
