  1. As we know they never refuse to sign a cheque, so looking forward to that summer warchest.
  2. Oh people liked him personally, who wouldn’t, but football wise, not a chance he was preferred over TM.
  3. If they see sense and use the additional TV money to offer a *decent* price reduction (not twenty quid off an early bird) they may just about tread water. However, if they pig headedly stick to £400/£500 pricing then it’s going to be catastrophic. Probably worse than 2021 when we didn’t even hit 7k. So the kind of figures a fair few sides in League 2 won’t be a million miles off.
  4. Really, Admiral? Not my experience, at all. I don’t recall anybody around me ever singing JDT’s praises even when riding high. Whereas Teflon Tony could do no wrong until the bitter end. Maybe I somehow ended up sat in the Saint Anthony fan club, but I doubt it.
  5. Obviously I’m talking about match goers, Mowbray was anything but popular on here. You think Ewood really took to JDT, especially when you consider how well he did last season? I don’t. Lets not confuse this place, with IRL.
  6. Cov sold out their allocation yesterday (4,339) and have been told they can’t have more. Yet, for the previous relegation six pointer they rolled the red carpet out, 7k, then a few hundred more as if that wasn’t enough. They make it up as they go along down there 🤷‍♂️
  7. I’d say going into Sunday the match going fans seemed content enough with him… but I think there’s a fair few doubts creeping in now. Not sure that makes him ‘unpopular’, but then this is Rovers fans, they loved Mogga, never took to JDT, so who knows!
  8. Fella who talks of nothing more of dinner parties with Dingles, turns his nose up at the oiks in the stands, and was too scared to attend the derby last season, now bemoaning Ewood and its fans as ‘docile’ and un-hostile. 😅
  9. I heard a few grumbles on Sunday, but nothing major. JDT had plenty more throughout his reign. If we stay up he’ll get the benefit of the doubt from the fans that rock up next season . Just god knows how many that will actually be, considering; a terrible season of results at Ewood, the general shambles that is BRFC, another summer of departures and no spend, the new TV deal and big prices. It’s a perfect storm that can only be even remotely mitigated with a substantial price cut.
  10. 'Blackburn fans' 🤦‍♂️ Spot the 'local' paper sub edited in err, south Wales. Oh and season tickets came out in March last year, not April 28th.
  11. If you struggle to get to night games you've seen one win at Ewood in six months. Pathetic. The season ticket 'campaign' will be a laugh.
  12. Come on now Abs, they’ll have flights to Marbs and Dubai to catch straight after Leicester.
  13. ‘Typical Rovers fans’, ‘must be the worst set of fans anywhere’, ‘so negative here’ is the refrain on social media. Nope, it’s the same everywhere, indeed I’d say our match goers are pretty bloody positive considering the complete garbage we’ve had to sit through for a decade.
  14. Largely because we are usually terrible after a promising first twenty minutes or so (in front of the Darwen End usually) and cannot get back into games after going a goal down. Weak, weak, weak.
  15. The fact he even got an ‘appreciation thread’ just for having a good game in as cup tie shows how small time we now are.
  16. This is an obscure forum with a few dozen regular posters, wider social media is a cesspit, but there’s nothing anybody can do about that. Come 3pm on Saturday at Ewood, he’ll be supported, like always, and that’s all that matters.
  17. ‘Half the world laughing at him’, it was shared on social media for an hour or two before the semi final got going. Most football fans wouldn’t know the bloke if he sliced a ball into their back garden.
  18. The Darwen End had home fans in it every game pretty much (unless moved for Liverpool/Man Utd) for twenty years from 95/96 until c2015.
  19. Not sure why people seem to be struggling with this one. Generally, for another plodding mid table season, give Sunderland, Leeds and yes, Sheff Wed, the full end and take their cash, we can’t fill the seats ourselves, so it is what it is. However, in this very specific instance, how about not giving a relegation rival any kind of advantage at your own bloody ground for a huge six pointer with three games to go. Take every home advantage possible, don’t pocket a few extra grand but risk losing millions.
  20. We’ve billionaire owners yet we are selling our Crown Jewels to ensure we can carry on paying the PAYE of the poor sods in admin roles etc. on c20/30k a year. Obviously they deserve all our sympathy, but obviously that doesn’t negate the impact its had on the team, which was Windy’s actual point.
  21. So you don’t think we should ‘be fair’ to the owners? Thank god for that, as that’s a devil’s advocate too far even for you.
  22. He had to go, and quickly, as the owners can’t meet their obligations, due to them being under investigation for financial impropriety - so let’s be fair to them.
  23. I was talking about Wharton, and like Waggott said ‘we need to help the owners’.
