  1. The club has signed plenty up in recent months, you kept expecting TD to be the next, it hasn’t happened. Obviously have the option but it has dragged on.
  2. Been in Swag’s favour though, takes the heat off him this afternoon, he’d have been in the firing line if it had dragged on until Monday morning. Canny fecker.
  3. ‘The Venky’s’ 🤦‍♂️
  4. Just merge all the various owner threads into a ‘Rao’ thread? Mods?
  5. Yep you’d imagine GB will slip out the back door shortly to ‘take up an exciting in opportunity in Belgium’ or whatever.
  6. Try watching a game on YouTube (or VHS 😅) from the 90s… like a different sport.
  7. 1 and 3, agree. 2, he wins a few games and it will be ‘JDT who?’ Thats football fans.
  8. Yeah the ‘Rovers’ days will be over. Just nice little touches from JDT, charisma in spades.
  9. Another reason why that was a ridiculous move. Three weeks later Wharton went, four weeks…. The Head Coach (when the club knew he was half way out the door). A week to week hand to mouth existence for a club, I suppose, will lead to such nonsensical decisions.
  10. Kendall was a quality player, title winner. Part of Everton’s ‘Holy Trinity’ to this day.
  11. I think people sometimes give footballers too much credit. It’s a job and a load of them aren’t arsed enough for it to lead to managers ‘losing’ dressing rooms. What brought it home to me was I heard a pundit ex-pro being asked about a player angling for a big move in public, losing focus etc and if that would make him unpopular in the dressing room, seen as not committed and he flatly said ‘no, it’s a short career, his teammates will think “fair play” ‘
  12. Who JDT? Called us ‘Rovers’ far more than any other manager we’ve had, far more than plenty of fans too.
  13. Dogmatic this season. He certainly wasn’t for large parts of last as many folk were saying it how ‘boring’ it was as we kept grinding out 1-0 wins. Something flipped in him over the summer, possibly because it had soured and he knew he was on borrowed time and he thought ‘feck this, I’m just going to work on playing my way’
  14. Loads of teams of all ability levels play that way now. Pep’s lot do it, so it is now the newest incarnation of that nebulous phrase ‘playing the football the right way’…as some lumbering centre half passes the ball to the opposing centre forward for the third time in order for him to smack it in.
  15. Nothing lasts forever, but foreign courts forcing their hand aside, I just don’t see them unilaterally just deciding to give it up as a bad job and selling. Why? Not a fecking clue. So this matter of time could still be pointing at many years. And Christ knows what will be left by then.
  16. It’s a funny thing because as unpopular as he’s been on here for a loooooong time he was relatively unknown (considering he was the fecking Chief Exec) with the wider fanbase until fairly recently. TM was the only person there you ever heard from, then Covid happened and he went into his bunker for about 18 months only emerging to try and give the big sell to the Brockhall flattening, I remember at the time people saying ‘oh he’s from the north east, is he? Never heard him speak before’, then after that kept a low profile again… until JDT started to call him out, repeatedly and now he’s become inextricably linked to all the debacles that seem to envelop this club on a weekly (daily?) basis. You’re not unknown now, are you Steve.
  17. He will appease plenty of it, a load of fans will file back into line if he picks up a few wins. You even saw it post deadline, even folk I know who aren’t remotely pro-Rao were telling me what a good window it was. It doesn’t take much.
  18. The fact they’ve not mentioned who’s going to be managing the side in a quite big game that kicks off in less than 24 hours may well mean an appointment is close, so no caretaker… or they may just have forgot to mention that bit, just like they forgot to have any quotes from the DoF or CEO.
  19. They probably do, and I suppose they may as well this week as I’m not sure David Lowe putting cones out for an hour counts as a training session.
  20. Is it normal to have the Thursday off before a huge Saturday game against a relegation rival?
  21. It does, but this is not a despicable football club. Steve Waggott and these owners are despicable but they are just temporary administrators of it, just like Oyston, like your man at Reading, Anderson at Bolton and so on and so on. We are the club and we will prevail (just fuck knows when)
  22. *Despicable people running/owning the club, Blackburn Rovers is the victim of all this.
  23. Well to be fair it was as ST holders are counted if they are there or not and plenty unsurprising swerved it last week - but that’s the same at every club, the announced ‘attendance’ is tickets sold, not bums on seats.
  24. When you have a pitiful 9k ST holders you need a good number of walk ons to make any kind of respectable gate - and how many are buying a match day ticket at £25-£30 for a fourth Ewood game in a row when we haven’t won a Saturday home game since October?
