  1. Good lad, though he’s nicked a load of that verbatim from here, but that’s ok, the LT has a far bigger reach then here so good to get some of the stark reality out there.
  2. That’s the same everywhere. Part of football. But that wasn’t his point which was the off field stuff will be taken out in the players - it never has, even in the Ke*n era.
  3. When do the fans not get behind the players?
  4. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2024/february/02/date-confirmed-for-newcastle-cup-clash/ Tuesday. Obviously Rovers haven’t got round to update the fixture list, standard for them. Shoddy by the Beeb though considering it’s live on BBC1.
  5. I’s wager it only became inevitable when the court case was adjourned to March. An English football club run on the whims of an Indian judge… not really sustainable, is it.
  6. Got lucky that his old manager turned up at a club that always has a decent budget.
  7. ‘We were always going to lose Wharton this window’ - were we?
  8. You can’t make people listen but you can get traction very quickly on social media, plenty of fans who aren’t militant brfcs-ers aren’t slavishly pro-Venky’s either and can be converted to the cause, they genuinely just don’t know the half of it. The Orlando fan info Tweet thread this very week was an example of said traction.
  9. Which place sniffed out the potential Brockhall sale way before local ‘journalists’ too? Not bad for a place full of the ‘most angry, most reactive, most short sighted, most regularly dismissive of others and arrogant’ folk.
  10. There is, but far more people read about Rovers on there (and the LT) than here, so the ‘echo chamber’ Bizzle likes to talk about is far more on display and influential on those platforms than this little old place.
  11. A load of the ground don’t particularly support him to start with, so certainly if we lose I imagine it would be more likely they’d be joining in the ‘JDT out’ chants with Swag and Suhail than any show of support.
  12. Must be a load of bots who go to games too as you hear all this again and again.
  13. We went into the Southampton game on the 16th December two points from the play offs. It obviously hasn’t been terrible all season. The last two months, certainly, and there are many reasons for that (and yes JDT isn’t blameless). But some recency bias on display here.
  14. The results were good till December.
  15. Not been on their board for a couple of months but I did notice some similarities to here. Rabidly anti-owner on the forum but bemoaning that a load of the wider fanbase were still up his arse.
  16. ‘Too many spoilt by Jack Walker’ is often their refrain. Like having standards for Blackburn Rovers and wanting to uphold his legacy is some sort of negative trait.
  17. Unfortunately a lot of fans can’t grasp that ‘supporting the club’ doesn’t just mean slavishly parroting the line and standing square behind whoever currently owns it/runs it, it means wanting the best for it and yes that does mean you will be, shock horror 😱, ‘negative’ towards people involved in the upper echelons of the organisation if they are running the club into the ground - *that* is support.
  18. It is. Shocking wages too. It’s why they don’t last long.
  19. Largely agree with that J*B, but I did feel Sharpe was quite canny in working round the limitations of modern day local media and putting in a good few pointed articles, his replacement seems out of his depth to me.
  20. A dad can take his two kids and it would still be cheaper than just the adult ticket here.
  21. I was responding to simongarner talking about a Newcastle protest with the crowd walking out after 15 minutes. That won’t happen as most of the crowd currently have little issue with the owners - so why would they be walking out of a game they’ve just spent £25 on? We need to get serious, it’s education, it’s getting journalists on board, it’s infographics explaining their reign of terror in simple format around social media. This is not going to be a quick process, large numbers of the fanbase have contracted Stockholm syndrome - so let’s stop wasting time and energy talking about pie in the sky ‘protests’ that won’t get off the ground.
  22. ‘Because Bury’ because £20 million a year’ ‘because shit fans’ ‘because FFP’ ‘because we’d be bust without them… ‘because nobody would, ever, buy the 9th most successful club in English history’
  23. Not bizarre to me. The LT toes the line. The club didn’t want attention brought to the HMRC issue after they thought they’d got away with keeping it quiet, whereas they’ve no issue in the news that JDT was being blocked from doing the presser getting out, as once again it removes the flak from them and the owners, this time on to the ‘moaning’ head coach.
