Leopold Wahlstedt. About Damn Time.

I do not for a second rate Pears, not good enough for this level. However, he does have some neat and tidy games, whereas over the past month Leo’s head/confidence has gone. You are fearing the worst from every cross or shot, no matter how weak. Obviously we need an actual number one goalkeeper, we won’t be getting one of those, but Leo still needs taking out the firing line. -

I’m with you arbito, it’s a tough one, do those running the club deserve our support? Not in the slightest, they are a disgrace and I hold them in contempt. No issue with anyone swerving this game, they bloody well deserve it the arrogant fools. However, more broadly, once you ‘vote with your feet’ you can very quickly get out of the habit as thousands upon thousands have and getting them back becomes very, very difficult in 5, 10, 20 years time when this lot finally feck off. We need the 10-12k core to remain so we have something to build from when the liberation day finally arrives. -

If we’d have had a good month of results and were around the play off places they may have got away with it (not that they deserved to), but piss poor form on the pitch coupled with this shambles off it and it’s a perfect storm and the seat map is for all to see. -
We have fairly unique (ain’t that the truth) owners and for me it makes a sale seem unlikely in even the medium term (legal problems forcing one aside). One type of owner seem to be your old school local businessman, he’ll sell up when he realises he can’t take it any further or he’s sick of the abuse from ungrateful fans or he’s been given an offer he can’t refuse. Others are the US venture capitalist types, they just want to flip it for a profit at some point down the line or they lose their shirt, either way they’ll come and go. Others idealistic young-ish types like your fella at Sunderland, ‘data analysis’ and all that, they seem to soon get bored and get shut. Obviously not an exhaustive list, but you get my point, these owners have a finite lifespan. Here? Just another business in an unwieldy conglomerate that gets involved in everything from poultry and food production to vaccines to medicine to property. The overseas football club they own that was randomly bought a decade plus ago is losing money? Just tell the CEO to cut costs and we’ll speak in six months. I doubt a sale is even remotely on the horizon.

You’re right of course, Joey, but hoping for some more crumbs in the future off bloody Bournemouth’s table. 🤦♂️ -

As alluded to in the article, this can’t continue, how can any business, never mind a football club that lives and dies on player transfers operate in this manner. What is the plan if this carries on into the next quarter and the next? -
Easy enough to compare. We played Birmingham in the cup last January, disclaimer - it was the fourth round but there isn’t usually much difference for non-glamour ties between the 3rd and 4th round. There were just under 10k home fans there (9,910), this will probably see under 4k home fans. Another complete shambles overseen by this ridiculous commercial operation.

Grafter is Pickering, but pretty limited as a Championship left back… but the squad has been allowed to get into such a state he’s the only one we have. -

He’ll be delighted, it can be closed permanently for cup ties going forward. -

Not the VAT bill so the court case won’t allow that. -

You could well be right, and if so, not far off a million quid for a skint club on a development signing/back up is a fine example of the muddled thinking down there.
