We’d just been to Arsenal in the cup quarter final, pretty much filled the Clock End, then took a load to this game midweek. A real buzz around the club. Superb performance and we were on the charge by then. Great side. Like the ‘92 team. Compare and contrast to this ragtag bunch. -
Our crowds could and should be better, no question, especially when you see the crowd boom across football in recent years. We've gone around this buoy as to why many, many times. But our standard average gate since 2012 has been c14,000. Sometimes a bit lower, but ballpark. What is so terrible about that for a small, deprived town hemmed in by league clubs after a shocking decade (but one of the highest ST prices)? It's the Ewood factor that makes things look worse than they are as it's a ground built for top 6 Premier League football, not this never-ending shambles. Either way I won't be taking any pelters from fecking Wrexham fans.

Jon Dahl Tomasson - Sweden coach

Even in the midst of Mogga death spirals all you'd here around you at Ewood would be 'ah well'. Whereas even in good runs of form sitting high up the table it would only take one too many passes for the JDT grumbles to start. The jumpers for goalposts, 'great working class people here' routine works a treat for TM wherever he goes the crafty owd sod. -

They used to 'do it before'. Coyle aside they haven't sacked anyone since 2015 and they won't be sacking yon mon either, he'll walk in the summer or just wander off when his contract runs out and they don't bother renewing it a la TM. -

To be fair to him he’s been out for a few months, but can’t say I’ve seen much of that, think most on here know they are both way below standard. Some squad this. -
Outside Private Eye The Times/Sunday Times is one of the few media outlets that have actually taken an interest in this case and campaigned on it throughout.

Branthwaite was 18 when he was here, of course he was raw and had some struggles in games. -
I know, that’s my point, a lot of those are ‘fans’ of the Liverpool clubs but never go to Anfield or Goodison, but will certainly turn up at the Racecourse as Wrexham charge up the leagues.

You can’t have a top career/be a top player if you aren’t first choice for England in a very strong era of English talent? -

Remember last season when you couldn’t move at Brockhall without bumping into a decent centre half… now the first team currently has two fit ones. To go with one right back and one left back (no sorry another 20 year old has come in loan, so no worries). -
If he did then more fool him, though I believe little that comes out anyone’s mouth at BRFC. So he wanted us to fall away post January 2022, it was in his interests, was it? Even though getting this club promoted would be one of the achievements of his career and would lead to all kinds of benefits, both financially and future job prospects. We are in this division because of these owners, the club is struggling to pay its tax bill because of these owners.
-
Like I said you’ve struck gold, and good luck to you. Those ‘fans’ of those clubs will have no qualms in suddenly turning up to Wrexham games, couple that with your long standing supporters and lapsed/floating fans and there’s massive potential to grow your fanbase in a region like north Wales. We have no such luck with a dozen or so league clubs in a forty mile radius.
-
He looked interested enough in promotion at Sunderland. TM was always going to get another decent gig regardless, he has a good reputation in the game, so why would he not want to give it a go here when sitting pretty in January 2022? It’s the owners that shafted us in his last season here, they’ve a habit for that kind of thing.
-
They are another club that has struck gold with geography too, only league club in north Wales and it’s a football area in contrast to much of the rest of Wales. There will be plenty of folk sitting in that temporary Kop covering up their Liverpool and Everton tattoos.

Course you can play well if asked to play somewhere other than where you prefer. If he’s supposed to be the ‘Irish Foden’ he should be standing out like a sore thumb in this league every week… he doesn’t. -

Moran had a decent spell October/November time, apart from that can’t say he’s pulled up many trees. Who knows how careers will ultimately develop. But a ‘class above’ Wharton on what we’ve watched? Can’t say I’ve seen much evidence of that. -

It was the 5th January when he went on loan, who knows what would’ve happened bids wise by the 31st… but of course we are that desperate to reduce costs we’ll never know. -

Yes I would, just like I would’ve kept Buckley. And no I don’t take as gospel anything that comes out of this club and that includes JDT. Face being saved all round. But if he was really angling to go ‘twice’, sell him then, either now or in May after helping the team for three months or so - that’s ’the model’ isn’t it? Not short term loans to sides in the same league, as that looks very ‘finance driven’ to me. -

Top earners? Maybe, but he’s not going to be on a fortune as a standard Championship player that came through the academy. Of course, at a normal club you keep him around, fight your way back in the side like Scott Wharton has done, and he can also slot into right back where we have one fit player for that position (and he’s in dodgy form and has been injured at times himself). It’s a squad game, and ours is small, stretched and inexperienced to boot- but hey ho, if the club is literally hand to mouth now, then off he goes, just like Buckley. -
On TV pretty much every week from the World Cup, along with cup runs, high earners off the wage bill too… and the budget was cut. So I’ll enjoy all these 3pm games this season thanks very much.

End of the day it's all anecdotal, but I'd not heard a peep about Waggott or the owners for years. Well, I have about the owners, usually folk saying how grateful we should all be to them. A lot of talk about how skint we are, how crap our gates are/our support is, how we can't expect to compete, but joining the dots as to why I can't say I've heard too much of. But maybe this season it is starting to change a bit, folk may be finally waking up again, but JDT still is the main one in the firing line for the club's travails... polar opposite of here, of course.
