  1. ‘Needs more weeks’ JDT said about Gallagher on Friday, doesn’t sound like he’s ready to play.
  2. These players aren’t getting promoted regardless. At least with JDT he has them well coached with a set way of playing and ergo has them winning plenty of matches. A more ‘prosaic’ manager ain’t doing any better with this bunch - no pace, no size, no experience, no strength, no cash, no hope.
  3. What ‘hype’? I’m only interested in facts. He’s had us consistently at the top end of the league with one hand tied behind his back throughout his tenure - that bench is embarrassing for this level of football.
  4. Only club in one of the country’s biggest cities and a massive catchment area across the country’s biggest county. They bloody well should be filling a 36k stadium (something they rarely did before Bielsa by the way) and selling out away games. Media spin, nothing more. As a comparison look at what the Sheffield clubs pull in between them, and they’ve been largely crap for decades, where’s their ‘super fans’ ‘super loyal’ narrative parroted across football every week?
  5. As much as we need the PL, you do forget about all these big time Charlies giving it the big ‘un. Big city clubs have lots of fans, well done you 👏
  6. Was kind of my point! We’ve seen parachutes for years, obviously, but this season’s lot have ridiculous squads in comparison the the rest of the paupers in the division.
  7. Pace, your Leeds/Leicesters have it, we don’t. Subs that can change games, your Leeds/Leicesters have them, we don’t.
  8. Pitch has held up quite well so far. This game and another on Tuesday as we head into the Christmas period might well see it end up in its yearly winter shit heap.
  9. It’ll be because some ‘analyst’ will have a stat that says ‘54% of crosses end up in lost possession, whereas 99% of five yard backwards passes keep it recycled’ Fun the modern game, ain’t it.
  10. Wingers whipping in crosses to a striker? Dinosaurs. Good job Pep came along to show us philistines the light of the false 9.
  11. Good point re U20s v U21s. The ‘21s will be full of big time Charlies sitting on fat PL contracts whilst being loaned out to Hull and the like. Easy to see how a player from a non parachute Championship club could have his head turned (not saying AW would). The U20s has a lot more development players in it.
  12. As I was saying in the wrong thread, 22 games out of the 32 have been moved KO times. Load of them for ‘foreign TV broadcast’. Big worldwide demand for Coventry v Oxford, obviously.
  13. Always a tenner for these games. Be the standard 5/6k for a third round tie. Oops wrong thread, lost my bearings reading those ineligible player posts.
  14. Did well to get a Saturday 3pm out of it, 22 out the 32 ties are kicking off at all manner of other times from Thursday night onwards.
  15. Don’t remember them announcing it last time, just a greyed out stand on the ticket planner.
  16. Where’s the issue? He’s now one of the side’s top players, not an academy grad breaking through, so deserves a contract to recognise that, an extra year of protection for the club to boot. Win, win, no?
  17. Proper charlatan that GB…
  18. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2023/december/08/boy-wonder-wharton-is-here-to-stay-/ New deal until 2028.
  19. They do need to keep an eye on it in January. Transfer windows always bring attention seekers out the woodwork who know fans are desperate for news and have them on a string on forums, Twitter etc. The summer was the worst I can remember on here for it.
  20. Literally never, ever, heard a single Rovers fan call us that in all my time.
  21. The East Stand used to be the away stand there anyway, we sat in there in a League Cup quarter final.
  22. Yep, there will be 3/4k extra in that end that never normally get a sniff at any other local-ish away, so obviously a huge piss up opportunity, no surprise it got moved to dinner time really.
  23. ‘Traditional’ being the past 15/20 years. Chelsea and City were nowhere before oil money… and as for Tottenham, obviously winning trophies doesn’t come into it.
  24. Nah. They’ll do their usual twelve wins in a row stuff in the spring…
