  1. VenkyWorld logic all over. Would rather throw £20 million down the toilet every season treading water in the second division but making a mighty £1 million or so back in ‘player profits’ than actually even thinking about how to reach the PL and its untold riches.
  2. It’s what ‘the club’ want. ‘Development’, ‘increasing player value’, ‘no pressure for results’. Replace GB by all means but the next fella will follow the exact same route. Apt that it’s Crewe that we are taking players from.
  3. The away followings have been superb this season. For a midtable second division side too. But of course, we have ‘shit support’ according to many of our own fans.
  4. No Christmas period games have been on the red button and tonight’s round don’t look like they are either - which is odd as they have been every other season and it’s the same TV deal.
  5. To be fair it looked a decent signing at the time, he’d spent a few years as England’s number 1 and was only about 30. No Brad, but who was? It’s only since this shower arrived that we’ve seen standards go through the floor.
  6. We don’t hear half of what goes on behind closed doors at football clubs. Managers, DoFs, CEOs are all spinning a narrative when speaking in public. So of course you don’t take it all at face value. The naivety of yon mon, it would be almost endearing if he wasn’t so patronising with it.
  7. He runs like he’s towing a caravan so I can’t see him charging on to many balls in front of him…
  8. ‘Getting players x, y and z back from injury is like three new signings’. One of those standard cliches… but it’s the best this window will get for us so I’ll clutch that straw.
  9. Bloody hell I wouldn’t want to see the second choice.
  10. ‘Super sharp in the box’, his lunchbox maybe.
  11. Passing the ball around the back and then backwards and sideways five yards over and over again = good football. Moving it forward, getting it wide, wingers whipping in crosses, actual strikers attacking the ball = shit football.
  12. Graduates in Football Manager 2022, presumably…
  13. Indeed it is. Two average to poor back up level keepers and an academy lad that’s looked out of his depth when playing cup ties. This is the state the team has been allowed to get into.
  14. So he should just chuck in Hilton?
  15. Who does he pick instead? Hilton? Who’s looked ropey playing L2 sides in the cup. It’s a mess.
  16. Ok, JDT can’t get his sides back in games, I’ll leave the last fella out of it. It’s obviously a negative for this manager regardless. (but it is a symptom of something amiss at this club when it comes to mentality as its been going on for years).
  17. If there’s one thing JDT doesn’t need to worry about it’s losing his job, it’s his until he walks or his contract happens to run out and the owners don’t get round to bothering with another one.
  18. I was hopeful of some improvement on Leo a few weeks back, but alas he looks a mile off at the moment, as does the other bloke. You can get away with punts from Norway, Holland and the like for outfield players, you’ve nowhere to hide as a keeper. It can work out obviously; TK, but it’s a gamble. All goes back to the mess of this club again, when was the last time we brought in an experienced keeper from English football?
  19. He’s naive, he has a win or bust mentality, he needs to be cannier with when to rest players, he needs to mix it up especially later in games, he’s not been able to stop a malaise of weakness in the team going back years that means we don’t get back into games once we concede - how about that? Now you tell me what you like about him.
  20. ‘JDT fanboys’ 🙄 He deserves criticism for a run of bad results just like every other manager since the dawn of time - who says differently?
  21. Yet so many of the fans on those photos now won’t have a word said against them… I know that’s the case as I know a fair few of them!
  22. The club obviously wanted to cash in anyway.
  23. It’s been poor since Sheff Wed, no question, but we were on a good run before that. Bottom end budget with a huge injury list, this will happen. But I’m backing him to turn it round - as he has before. But generally mid table is our lot with this set up. P.S as as for him being ’immune from criticism’, get out of it he gets plenty in the ground and on social media and has from day one.
  24. It’s ‘Lowe In’ now I take it?
  25. ‘Mattyblue instantly dives in’ Rev only when you completely ignore the elephant in the room and blame everybody else from the tea lady up for the sorry state of this club , and to be fair to you you’ve finally cottoned on to the root cause - it’s just took you about a decade longer than everyone else.
