They’ve sold out their initial allocation, which would’ve been 1k or so you’d reckon. Extra now on sale. -

Great to read that from you as you swore blind that there was no issue with ticket pricing until fairly recently. A rare bit of consensus. The Swag tenure will end, everything does (well apart from this ownership which looks like it will outlast us all), we can only hope whenever this new broom arrives they rip the lot up and start again. So much potential here but let’s hope the earth hasn’t been scorched beyond repair for whoever does pick up the pieces after this clown. -

Penny-wise, pound-foolish has been the stock in trade of this cretinous regime from day one. -
Ha, course he has! Eddie didn’t do much in the Champions League, maybe he should hold out before trekking all the way back down here.
-
Shame he’s managed all the north east league clubs (yep, all, err, three of them) so the poor bloke will have to travel again 🎻

Plenty of bums on seats due to luckily being situated in a massive catchment area = ‘huge club’, obviously. They’ve achieved the square root of feck all for 50 years… bit like their dear neighbours come to think about it.

This is what happens at a club without serious people running it. You can just imagine the meeting this got raised as an idea by a well meaning, but wet behind the ears digitally native young employee. But instead of being immediately slapped down or it being developed into a wider offering, I.e ‘change to an e-ticket and have a chance of winning Jack’s Kitchen tickets’ or whatever, they’ve just gone with it, especially as Swag can now use it as a nice ‘green’, ‘ethical’, ‘EFL Environment Week’ smokescreen as he cuts back on the hours of ticket office staff (and cleaners and stewards as there will be bugger all folk there). -

Don’t you think JDT would like to buy experienced and tough players? -

To be fair to Broughton he has also repeatedly said ‘we want to be an established and sustainable Premier League club’, obviously that’s just platitudes with this set up, but at least he pretends that BRFC is like every other pro football club that exists to try and get to the highest level they can - Swag doesn’t even bother doing that. -

What you see on the pitch impacts you the most, I know you just said and guess what that’s the same for every fan. So maybe the club having a budget and a direction from the board that is set at just staying out of the third division may impact the product on the pitch. -

They comment of Swag’s obviously directly impacts what you see on the pitch. -

What I would say is the relegated sides this season are a step up from the usual rabble that come down. Squads chock full of quality players as to be expected from long established PL clubs (less so Leeds but still an enormous wage bill). Luton, that lot and Sheff U will be more back to normal next summer. Doesn’t excuse anything but they are bloody tough opposition for our stretched squad. -

No problem with any of that, he’s not infallible by any means. If he was he wouldn’t he managing in this madhouse. I was responding to the posters saying we need a new manager yesterday afternoon - i.e the ones that have lost all perspective. -

Thing is over time it’s going that way anyway, who used an e-ticket/print at home for anything fifteen years ago compared to events you go to now? Now it’s growing and growing as market forces do their work and technology become more embedded with people’s everyday life. So why force it? Absolute nonsense from a club that has complete lost the plot. -

It’s a word with more than one definition, I was using it to highlight how opinions oscillate on forums wildly , obviously I wasn’t labelling random folk I’ve never met on a forum of actually having bipolar disorder if that’s what you are getting at. -

There were a fair few posts yesterday saying just that, yes. Of course we’ve lost to some non-parachute clubs, it’s the Championship, a load of similarly matched sides so we’ve beaten plenty too, ergo ‘competitive with the rest of the league’. -

Yep, when it comes to managing their number one ‘stakeholder’ - I.e the fans, ‘the club’ behaves in the complete opposite manner in every way possible compared to the days of John Williams. They couldn’t give a monkeys and they are more than happy for us to know that too. -

Great lad this Fraser, Head of Sales & Marketing, apparently. Though still waiting to hear what’s improved since he took over as if anything it’s getting even worse (which I didn’t think was possible). -

I’ll explain what I thought was a simple point again. Playing shite and getting well beat by far better teams with enormous budgets doesn’t change the fact we can compete with pretty much every other non parachute club - I.e perspective, not saying the manager should go etc after said shite day. We have a crap Christmas and new year period against a real mix bag of sides, obviously a different issue. -

The lowest of the low for me was last season (maybe it’s still going on) when kids had to pitch up in their own replica kit if they wanted to be mascot as the club didn’t have any - so a load of potential mascots would have to be turned away as no parent would be able to get hold of a kit post about September anyway. I’d call it ‘non league’, amateur’, but that’s an insult to all those well run clubs that really care down the pyramid. -

Who’s whitewashing it? It was a load of shite from the first minute. However, we also win loads of games against non parachute sides, ergo perspective and not bipolar reactions for a 46 game season in a division we obviously are competitive in. -

Not a chance we go down. We get our arses handed to us on days like yesterday but we win plenty against ‘normal’ sides and no reason that won’t continue. It was a crap afternoon but as usual on forums a fair few lose all perspective after a defeat like that. -
Why? The non parachute clubs are no better than last season, we are no worse. 7th/8th seems perfectly feasible.
-
Well that went well.
